I can not understand dealers that just pile stuff on their table or have a box full of items that can be damaged by folks going through them. I always had my tables organized & everything priced because I took pride being a sales person with treasures to be sold. After years of doing Flea Markets we bought a building & opened a shop in 2014. We do miss the Flea Market Social life with other dealers but not the work of packing up, unloading, hoping for weather not too bad or too nice, etc. Rediscover Antiques & Collectibles, St Louis.
Actually, I prefer looking in boxes rather than organized on a table. It’s more of a “thrill” to see what can be uncovered. With things like paper, it’s easier to have them in some type of box/flat, especially on windy days so they don’t blow away or become wet from any condensation on the tables.
It blows my mind when a dealer asks those kind of prices on things that are not being taken care of and just thrown in a box. I'm so glad you were still able to find some treasures!
Could be the kitchen of an old school! I am envious of your true flea market experiences. Our far and few between markets have become dollar store surplus.
That’s true too about the photo! We have a few markers that have become like that too, unfortunately. I hope that my go-to markets don’t venture down that same road!
I wish we had flea markets near us. I miss going to them. You did really well today. That one dealers prices were crazy high!!😊 Loved your video as always!❤
I loved the aubergine artwork! Some of the prices were silly for the ephemera. Loved the little treasures you snagged. Especially the cloth pig and wolf. Take care darling xx
I know that the sellers have to make money, I sell at the flea market too so of course I know the game. It’s when there’s a small box of say paper & they tell me that they paid $100 at auction & still haven’t had time to really look through it, so they don’t want to “give it away”, that I know there’s some fibbing going on.
Thank you so much for this video🤗👍💞 The wall paper was so pretty but I love old photos. I have so many of some family members , and 1 or 2 photos of others that I just can't figure out. Crazy! But cool.🧐 How the heck can you piece together someone else'😘s family. You are amazing👏

Always a pleasure to join the flashlight brigade, lol ! 0:38 This stamp collection contained a lot of precancels from the 1920s and 30s and could have been a little goldmine. Hope you took the Lucille Ball- comic, I´ve also never seen this before. Nice pickups though, I like especially the Jetsons poster, an absolutely underrated series from Hanna Barbera studios. By the way, Renée: a couple of months ago you made a vid about a storage unit which got an extremely high amount of clicks. Any explanations for that ?! Just curious. Have a fantastic weekend ! Greets from GER, U.
I didn’t pick up the comic. I was just going to use it in a “future project”, but for $5 seemed like a waste when it was going to be cut apart. From seeing that comic though, I now have looked up & seen that the first Lucy comic sells for $$, so if I ever see that out at a good price, I’ll know to pick it up. As for the storage video, it must have gotten picked up in the algorithm and then just took off from that. No idea what changed, as I didn’t alter the video in anyway. Wish that would happen more often, though! Have a wonderful weekend, Uwe!
Renee thank you so much for taking us all along with you to the flea market ! So much to see !!! I appreciate you so much! Stay safe stay great and keep up the good work!!!!
I like the little school ticket box and I'm sure I would enjoy looking through it. Also, I have cut the neck off my "wear around the house" t-shirts if the ribbed piece was too tight which happened more often during the "hot flash" years. I know....TMI.
I hear you on the clothing - I now have certain shirts that I wear for my at home work days. The material is soft, feels good wearing them all day, easy to work in. If I put on a different tshirt, it’s like my brain says “Nope. Wrong shirt. Can’t work with this on.” Silly I know!
The Jetson's...yes ...loved watching with my son as a child. (We grew up together..😂)... The old report cards are just like the ones I have of my mothers...loved going with you...🥰🥰

That Shriners fez was intriguing. Some of those old comic books based on TV shows I can recall as a kid. Most vintage comics that bring real $$ are the superhero genre. I had a sizeable comic collection, but when I left home in '68, my dear mother sent them to the dump!
@@stephenritz5581 That’s funny . I guess since I was the oldest of the siblings I was too old to be curious about the taste by the time my parents purchased our first crayons.
One of my favorite childhood shows was the original Jetsons. I don’t collect comics, but I would have definitely bought the Lucy comic. I’ve never seen one.
Hi Renee! Always love to watch your flea market visits and you always find some interesting items. I wonder if you have made your first junk journal or till collecting for that to come. Hope you doing well and cheers and good hunting!
You should go to the House of Vintage if you are ever in Portland Oregon. It's a huge vintage vender place. I don't buy stuff there because of the high prices. $75-$125 for a coat, but it's cool to walk around and look. I know all the dealers just buy their stuff at the Goodwill Bins, so that's why I don't pay their prices. I'll shop at the regular Goodwill or the Bins myself 😉
Interesting things at the flea market. I noticed the second tv comic book featuring Sgt Bilko from the 50's Phil Silvers tv show, didn't know they made comics from tv series.

Letters from the different military divided zones after the war with stamps for the British or whatever army now was controlling the area.anyhow, a heck of a lot of stuff to go through. I do have a favorite letter from my husband's grandmother written during the Depression. She sent canned peaches to her sister by train and the jars all broke. Her sister was in tears over the situation. So, I think you would enjoy going through all the stuff. Now, organized in acid free sheets and notebooks. Oh, another keeper is letter written years after the wagon train trip where they mentioned some things that happened on the trip!
Those sound like amazing letters! I'm sure that the post-war letters provide such a great insight as to what was going on amongst civilians during that time and the canned peach story... I felt sad just reading about that! All that work to have it destroyed by transport via train. Glad that you have all of those letters!
Some of the items you shown seemed like excessive prices. Nice to see you got some thing. The pig & wolf, well guess that was the pig in the brick house and the other two didn't make it there after the straw & wood houses blew down 🤣. Thanks for taking us along. 👍👍

One thing about going to the flea market at that ungodly hour...no itching, as the fleas are still asleep! But you still have an itch to find some great stuff!! Two items come to mind whenever I run across Crayola Crayon packages: My childhood years and the "Ola" age...Victrola, Radiola (radios) and Pianola (player pianos)! I see a Shrine Fezz. Of the two Hanna Barbra Cartoon productions...the Flintstones were my favorite and most clever. The movie with live actors was a dud, in my opinion. I loved the Classics Illustrated series, especially "The Time Machine and "War of the Worlds". I had the same cute penguin cookie jar, sold it for $50 last year to a penguin figurine collector. Those set-up tables look like they have weathered many East Coast winters!
Oh wow, your penguin cookie jar was a good seller! I did like the Flintstones too, didn't see the live action move though (that was with Dan Goodman and Rosie O'Donnell, right?) Which makes me wonder why they never produced a live action Jetsons movie??
@@PaperandMoose I assume the production costs would be high. Those futuristic sets and props, and special effects...high cost for returns at the box office. The fast paced animation/fantasy works much smoother. You are right on, the live acted version was stiff and wooden! Did you know the Flintstones characters were based on "real live" ones? The Honeymooners starring Jackie Gleason/Art Carney!
@@larryboysen5911 I did hear that about the Honeymooners. Perhaps Tesla could have sponsored the production of a live action Jetsons movie, test out their "future" cars!
@@PaperandMoose Speaking of Tesla, perhaps if we had listened to the "Real" Tesla...NIKOLA, there might have been a better future than this "broken down merry-go-round" we all live in...a sort of grunge future! I remember as a child of how great the 21st Century was going to be for humanity..."Bonk" on that one!
The wallpaper is fantastic. You might actually be able to sell the wallpaper for good money. It depends but I think that would be a desirable pattern that they would potentially use like in a small bathroom or something on a feature wall
Thanks for sharing another flea market day. Selling at a flea market typically means low prices. I know a lot of us who shop at flea markets know this. I'm a buyer and seller. The one seller with the 'pile' of paper AND unpriced, would be inconsistent with pricing. I call this ideal 'full boat retail'. What they might have charged you X$$$(which you were smart to pass on) could have charged someone else Y$$. It's actually an understood, even in retail, you can offer 10% discount. I do when I sell.
When they tell me "I paid a lot for this at auction" or " I paid $100 for this box at auction, I can't just give it away", I usually know there's some fibbing involved and that the price they are going to give me is going to be too much.
It's a shame the photos were so expensive - seemed like there were a lot of pretty nice ones in there. I can't believe how early your flea markets start - the big one here is officially open at 9:00 on the weekend (closed during work week) but you can get there at 7:30 or 8:00 and horse trade with the sellers as they are trading with each other. Have you decided about that ephemera auction tomorrow? There are a few estate sales in town town this weekend but they don't look promising. I may go to the flea market to get out of the house but it also has become objectionably expensive. Thanks for letting us tag along - I really enjoyed the photo boxes and seeing what you bought! Have a great weekend!
This market also used to be set up earlier, but I guess most sleep in now. In summer it probably makes more sense to set up early so one can “beat the heat”. I’m going to one auction tomorrow & then still have to decide on the ephemera one, which I’ll probably attend. Never know unless you try & if anything, I’ll get to see some interesting paper! Hope you have a great weekend! Our temps are dropping back down, just in time for an outdoor auction!
Enjoyed your video..,looked like you made some good buys I’m watching this in bed under 3 Blankets wondering if I really want to get up and drive over an hour to go to my flea market? Yes I do. 😉
I thank my Gods, whoever they are, that theres not fleemarkets like this close to me. I have enough trouble with my collection of encyclopedias, oh yes, I need to have ALL the editions of them, and I do. my collection ot local encyclopedias is complete. Taking up ... a lot of space. And its worth is nothing. Just what I paid. So of course I start buying encyclopedias from outside my country, and old books about technical things like building houses, bridges, all of that. And now I found some medical books in my local dump, and I do have some background in that field but no bloody way will I collect old medical books, or will I? Hmf. Hope not.
@@PaperandMoose Nah, it's not really the dump, they don't let us plebs in there, we can only reach the front and throw stuff in the dumpsters there. You can not jump into the dumpsters, but if you can reach it you can grab it. But, they have this house where you can put things you don't want anymore, but think other people might like. Most of the stuff is the same kind of junk you walk by in the driftstore, ugly nick nack and figurines made out of this material known as chinesium and cups, glassware and such. And lots and lots of books. Of wich I pick up everything printed before 1940 (I need to draw the line somewhere), and encyclopedias and that kind of thing. I also got most of my furniture from there, because I'm lazy. I could go to the shop and try to choose wich of the 50 tables they have there I want to bring home, OR just pick the one that fit at the dump. Saves a lot of time. I also collect ugly art, some not very skilled amateur trying to paint a picture of their dog and ends up with this terrifying picture of something that looks like a octopus eating a unicorn. I allways pick up those things. Hey, they did the best they could, worked hard on this thing. I will hang it on my wall to scare intruders.
A lot of the dealers are lazy and out of touch ...living in the past ..the collection market is dieing off as the people are as well ...younger people not interested
I don’t know, I’ve been doing this for over 30 years and I sell as good now as I did back when I started Some things come and some things go so you have to know what to buy and importantly what to pay Is harder today to get good stuff cheap but still lots of stuff out there to make money on
I try to look at comments everyday, but they are filtered as they come in & I don’t see them all/reply to them all, as they get “buried” by newer comments.
@@PaperandMoose I would very much like to purchase an oriental tea pot from you…I am very much into Chinese and Japanese things. Please let me know if this would be doable?

I remember as a child of how great the 21st Century was going to be for humanity..."Bonk" on that one!
love the Jetsons posters! I just recently discovered a rubber stamp from 1991 that features them from my stash!
That’s awesome!
That box of crayons with the built in sharpener, I got a brand new one just like that when I was a kid and I was so excited! That was in the 1960’s!
The box was in really nice shape! Usually they are rough & ripped, but this one looked like it was taken care of.
The wallpaper is fantastic. You might actually be able to sell the wallpaper for good money. It depends but I think that would be a desirable pattern that they would potentially use like in a small bathroom or something on a feature wall
Love your flee market videos
@@PaperandMoose Renee, I would agree with your assessment. I guess I swing the other way.
$200 dollars? Don't guess he sold much that day.
Enjoy your videos and your sweet personality 😉
The “lady” photo looks like Queen Victoria.
I liked the stuffed wolf & pig.
$200?!? What was he smoking? 🤯
He obviously didn’t really want to sell the stuff. Outrageous price.
I agree, that was some crazy prices! I don’t think he wants to sell too badly. I’m all for them making a profit but come on!
💜
Do you have a Etsy shop still. Cause I would love some of that wall paper and what ever paper you have to sell
Enjoyed your video..,looked like you made some good buys
I’m watching this in bed under 3
Blankets wondering if I really want to get up and drive over an hour to go to my flea market?
Yes I do. 😉
Hope you found some treasures! I'm sure if not, you came away with some good stories, though!
Ooh, stamp album.
damn girl, i recognize the wake up ergz and it wasn;t my kidneys...btw, ... the early bird gets the worm ...
200 what??? 🤣🤣🤣
Was the tote man there?
Not the flea market he sells at. I’m patiently waiting for that market to open in the spring!
Hmf. Hope not.
Do you check out the local dump often? I’m sure there’s probably lots of great stuff that people throw away!
Oh my word how do they sell anything??!!!
A lot of the dealers are lazy and out of touch ...living in the past ..the collection market is dieing off as the people are as well ...younger people not interested
I don’t know, I’ve been doing this for over 30 years and I sell as good now as I did back when I started
Some things come and some things go so you have to know what to buy and importantly what to pay
Is harder today to get good stuff cheap but still lots of stuff out there to make money on
They want alot of money that the items are falling apart.
Cool videos but way to short
I have tried to communicate with you several times but have been totally ignored……What is up with that ?….
Just seeing this reply now (was hidden by TH-cam). Unfortunately, the teapot was sold at the market.
hello
Hello Renee. Well I hope when you got the price from the person you didn’t start laughing at and asked him how if he was on to strong of Drugs I mean I would have or if he was tripping on some. Man that crazy. I’m sorry but that was shocking to me. I love the Jetsons poster it’s cool. You know those animals are really cute and it looks fun to do but I think I would have ruined them because I can sow but I tend to stab my self so much and I’ve always been a bleeder so yup I would stain them. But they are cute. I think I had a dog one that someone gave me. Take care. Please don’t be upset at me for what I said about the price and person. Just couldn’t help it. My bad. 🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🕵🏼♀️🫖☕️🫖☕️🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯💯
If I were to have tried to sew the animals, their bodies may have looked a bit different! Haha 🙂
