The shopping view is blurred due to personal requests by buyers at this market. My choices are either to blur or not make a video about selling... to which people inquire "Do you even sell at the flea market?" 🙃
I greatly appreciate that you have blurred this video. As a viewer I have no problem with that because as a person when I'm out in public I don't want people filming me when I don't know they're filming. And nowadays it seems like there's cameras everywhere.
I don’t mind the blurr when you are selling, it just shows how you respect the wishes of your buyers. Would really like to see your table not blurred before you start selling. I also don’t like people I don’t know filming or taking pictures of me.
You could also shoot "down" without blurring and not show faces... or blur faces only in "post" so the whole video isn't blurry ... the other option is to post a sign at your booth "I film for TH-cam - you may end up in a video" - that way they can choose to enter the filming area or not ... but you do it the way you want to do it! It's your channel.
I bought an album like that for 85 dollars once and traced down a great great grandson who had never seen what his ancestors looked like. I shipped it to him for cost and he was extremely excited and he sent me a very nice letter.
My mom was a hummer, even in her sleep. I love hearing others hum as it reminds me of her. She was like you, didn’t realize she was humming unless you told her. Lol. Unfortunately I didn’t inherit that trait.
I remember being swamped by other vendors before we could unload our truck. I had lot of respect for early customers who helped you or stood back so you could set set up . I had visions for how I wanted to arrange things. William would line everything up in a line and I would put a vase on a child's chair or a stack of books. I always tried to have colorful things that people could see from a distance . I know I sold better than some that lined up things or piles of things ( I know you like to dig as do others ) but this appealed to my senses and made me feel better . There is room for all kinds !
I used to set up similar to how you stated, arrange things nicely, put out a vintage tablecloth, make it look eye appealing. At this market, I would probably have to set up several hours before daybreak in order to have an organized table :0)
Loved this! It c was great to hear Tony! I love his voice. I especially love hearing him laugh. I don't remember if I heard that here or not. Such a kind man. I heard Taco gig gle. And you of coarse laughed. Will be glad when it warms up for you all. Love you, stay safe and well. ❤😘💞💞💞🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏✌️👶
I miss selling at the swap meet here. I still have tons of vintage jewelry that I will bag up in gallon bags and sell locally as soon as it warms up. Great video Renee.
There is *sometimes* a vendor there with books, art & ephemera that I like, but he likes the warmer weather. Next nice weather day I hope to get out there. Not that I need any more stuff ;-) Another vote for understanding and respecting your choice of blurring the video.
I the UK we call these ‘ car boot sales’ where you sell your own stuff. The last one I did, the car was descended upon by vulture-like people that I had no control over in the early hours of the morning. A lot of stuff got stolen. I can we'll understand your dilemma there Renee..
Blurring the buyers is the right thing to do since you’ve gotten requests and even threats. My parents sold there in the days before video on cell phones. My mom had a big thing about privacy and she’d get furious when someone took her picture without asking if it was okay. Hope you had a good day selling.
Not looking to get banned by TH-cam for showing inappropriate shirt, good call we'd miss you dearly 😢. It Looked chilly out there the way you were all bundled up. Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Great to see some early spring flea market scenery in NJ again. I understand that you have some issues with filming these locations because some sellers and buyers want to keep their privacy. I assume that was the main reason why BBD stopped filming, wasn´t it ? Anyways, you made the best out of it, Renée, great show. Just keep up being you, and have a fantastic weekend ! 👍 Greets from GER, U.

Silly me, I thought you were blurring the middle portion of the video because of the naked baby doll lol. I was hoping the tote man would be there but maybe this wasn't the flea market that he sets up at. I am glad that the flea market/garage sale/rummage sale and outdoor auction time has finally arrived again and I bet you are too!
Not the tote man flea market, that market will be opening up soon - Yay!! I have had several buyers personally ask me to not show their face on camera, to the point where they stated they would never buy from me if one could easily see their face. Hence, the blur. I've also been threatened with physical violence at another place that I film at, so at that location I only show the items that I'm looking at. Others may film faces, but I choose to blur so that I can still include some footage and not make people mad.
Hello Renee. Love the shirt you got. Looks like you did well and hopefully this keeps up all flea market season. It’s nice that you and Taco are working side by sidea lot more often. Glad you had a decent day. I've never been to a FM where people swarmed vendors' trucks before they were unloaded. Is that the norm in most places? I guess I don't have any real FM cred. Was that the large "Patty" (?) doll from a week or so ago? Was she adopted? The "Good Health" book had some nice illustrations. I looked up a few of the other books in Tony's boxes just for fun. I'm sure they're not worth much - and not suggesting you should have bought them - but it's interesting how much history can be in a random box of books. "The Tallyrand Maxim," J.S. Fletcher (1920) - an immediate precursor to the detective novel writers in Golden Age of Mystery. "Madame sans Gene," (Madame "Devil may Care" or "Madame without Embarrassment") - 1893 play about a laundress who befriends young Napoleon Bonaparte & a his friend Lefebvre. When Napoleon comes to power, she marries Lefebvre & becomes a Duchess. However, she has coarse manners & N's sister want her out of the court. She gets to stay on by producing an unpaid laundry bill Napoleon owed when he was destitute (she let it slide) - and her (laundering?) support of his army. Made into 6 movies - 3 silent & 3 talkies. The 1925 silent version starred Gloria Swanson and is now considered lost except a trailer. A 1961 talkie starred Sophia Lauren. "My Friend the Dog," Albert Payson Terhune, 1926. 11 stories about collies. Often he wrote from the dogs' points of view but not in these. Also, uncharacteristically, the main dog in these (or some of them) is female. Anyway - great video - the blurring is very respectful - and thanks for showing us all the things you looked at. It was a fun diversion to look up those books. Hope you have a terrific weekend!
The dog book sounded good! I'll have to take a look at the author, would be interesting to read a story from a dog's point of view. At this market, if you allow it, people would unpack your entire truck for you! The only issue that I have with the swarm is that some people, not all, will "hoard" things - you take a box out, they put it aside in their pile and continue to add to this pile without really looking at things. Then when it comes to tallying up their pile, a price is given, and they want to negotiate on that price (usually offer half of my asking price). Meanwhile, I could have gotten full price for some items if they wouldn't have hoarded the boxes before others had the chance to look. It also causes many people to not shop first thing because they do not want to be in the swarm of people. I try to apologize to those people and save some boxes of items that they like, this way there is still "fresh" merchandise for them to peruse even after the crowd is gone. Now after my rant haha, I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
