We have a Logosol chainsaw mill, and that thing works like a hot damn. The planks we get out of it have a tighter tolerance than you get from a professional lumber mill. We pretty much never buy lumber anymore.
You just have to be ready to spend the hours milling.

Try cuting parallel to the grain with this type of project, it pulls out long noodle like strands very very quickly compared to cutting into the grain, easier on the saw too.
I mean Along the length on the log (look up noodling if you dont get it)! not into (like here or alaska mill), or across like normal firewood/bucking cuts
Its Especially useful for these shorter, peices. you can be easily be very accurate at bar length, and accurate enough for a rough cut up to slightly longer than twice what ever bar length you have (make sure you dont have a saftey chain, the tip needs to be doing some cutting if the log is any longer than the bar).
Not exactly the same thing, but similiar - with really long logs you can do a version of this, using the bar tip to score along the length of the logs taking out a few inches each pass. Be careful

Ever hear the sound your face hole makes when the blasted contraption eats your t shirt? Doing it day in and day out and complacency sets in and pretty soon you’re looking out the garage door whilst cleaning the end of a pipe. Next thing ya know everybody in the shop is looking at you wondering how you made that noise and you have to try to look dignified while you try to unwrap your disfigured shirt from the grinder shaft. And pretend the bleeding wire grooves in your stomach don’t hurt that bad. Who would ever do welding for a living??

My biggest tip for using an electric plane: Get yourself one of those key or badge reels like nurse Rachet and use it on your cord near the wall side.
This ensures your cord is always under a little tension and will always auto-magically scoot out of the way when going back and fore. With a circ you're always going on a one way trip an it isn't that annoying, but with a plane your always moving the cord after every stroke.

I am wanting to use it with the swag off-road bandsaw table and this makes it a mission to turn on. Love the videos. Cheers
