The 90's, a much happier time and place, being from the UK, I was fixated on going to NYC, to the top of the World Trade Center because it was prominent at the beginning of F.R.I.E.N.D.S. and of course Home Alone 2, in March 1998 I fulfilled my dream, good times, fond memories ❤️
Yeah well the Rudy mayor cleaned up New York and made it good again but remember the 70s and 80s were a time when New York was a ghetto and was severely unsafe because of crack epidemic

My heart tho when you got to the World Trade Center. No words needed just a melody to reflect on what was, what we lost and how we've come back from it.
New York was so different back in 1992. I miss the twin towers so much. That was the most epic scene in Home Alone 2 Kevin standing on top of one of the twin towers. So many things have changed and haven't changed since 1992. I have Home Alone and Home Alone 2 Lost In New York. New York is still a great city.
Well said about how certain things have changed and other things have not, and still great indeed. However, I know exactly what you mean overall. I also agree, that is definitely the most visually iconic part of the movie. Two classics that belong in every home theater library. Happy Holidays!!
Totally agree....it gives me chills every time I watch that scene from the movie...I am glad they didn’t delete it and kept it authentic to the period. 👍🏾😀
NYC is one of the many big cities suffering from being overused and exploited, which at the same time becomes over-sanitized, cold and unaffordable. A huge middle class is gone. It escalated in the 2000s. In the past years, it's become common hearing big news of another landmark business shutting down, or some building being bought and changed by developers. Sad. It's a blessing they filmed Home Alone in NYC when they did, because it was still very much NYC, perhaps a good balance of its natural grit beauty with better cleanliness and safety. I've always thought Home Alone 2 is a film to see NYC at its modern peak.
This is a FANTASTIC video. Must-watch for a Home Alone 2 fan. Love the nostalgia you add with your commentary throughout...ex: "this is where Kevin would have slipped on the ice"

Went looking for a video on Home Alone 2 and boy did I find a cracking one. Outstanding Nick. I did the Radio City picture, but I’ve now realised I past a LOT more than that thanks to your video. Top work mate and a Merry Christmas from the UK.
Heres a fact! You can make out the shapes of the world trade center, and the krystler building in the beginning of the film with the house and buildings
🎯 Yes... Courthouse Square is right behind Brownstone St on the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood. I made the 4th D comment because I was saying that at the Hospital location, visualizing the video. Ha, anyhow, nicely done.
@@NickP Yes I knew what you were getting at Bud. I've been thru the backlot at Universal but one day I'd love to hop off the wagon and walk thru the town. The very first episode of twilight zone was filmed there and its instantly recognizable. Also the theme is kinda like one lone dude stuck in another dimension.
@@lambjack1 Cool You and me both.. I tried a couple of times but it’s tough with the constant shooting schedule. I know the episode and the first time I saw it I knew immediately. I’m also a big fan of the movie The Sting. It’s seen in that one too, along w Gremlins.
I vividly remember Kevin visiting the statue of liberty after looking at it, instead of going to the twin towers.. he looked at a Asian family visiting the statue thru the binoculars..
I think what you’re referring to is known as the Mandela Effect. I myself, remember it the way it’s shown here. I think what happens sometimes is we mix things up with a clip or a scene from a similar movie or tv show and that’s what we remember. Another thing that happens is over time we forget details and our minds fill in the blanks and that in turn becomes the new memory. Then we rewatch the movie or show and get bugged out by what we see. Then again, sometimes things happen that no one can explain.
This is so amazing thank you! ♥ I live in the Uk and always dreamt of visiting these locations, this has felt like a mission accomplished in some small way, I loved this video so much!! Thanks for making it I appreciate you!
One cool fact about that one is they don’t call him Calvin they call him kid but they look at his backpack and read it but they don’t ever say Calvin they just called him kid throughout the movie
When home alone came out classic NYC was still a thing. It's kinda changed now. But I think COVID is what makes things appear extra different. Seeing the almost empty streets. That's just not NYC. It's supposed to b crowded! Lol
yes very true there Davin like the Nutty Proffesor 2 The Klumps which ive seen the studio rooms where each shot was taken each one of the rooms had a a video clip on a tv of the scene in each room at uvs Hollywood

Hey Teri! Nice to hear from you.. We are ok, thanks.. Likewise! ....Lol yeah, kind of a creepy Santa there lolll Thanks a lot, all the best to you and yours!
@@NickP your welcome! It feels good to be back on TH-cam I haven't had much time to watch video's or anything as 2 of my 3 kids are all Virtual learning atm so things have been a chaotic mess but I'm glad you and your family are good we are hanging in there we will get through this mess hopefully soon :)
@@teri_-ej9tk Oh, I know what you mean, so crazy. Hopefully it’s all over soon. 2021 has to be a better year.... Thanks again!
suddenly this video appears.. the nostalgia of this film is really fun, thank you for making this video my friend.. 👍
Nice! Thank you 🙌
Thanks a lot guys!
Really cool idea! New York is an ever changing city. Great work on showcasing past and present filming locations.
Thanks so much!
One of my favorite movies. You did a great job on this! We are planning a New England trip later this year and have a few places it looks like you've made videos about on our list. I know the circumstances of everything are up in the air, but it would be cool to collaborate on something.
That's awesome and thanks for dropping by... I love this stuff lol. It would be a pleasure to collab on a future project!
Oh man, you made my memories on fire right now thanks.
NY looks so clean comparing to previous times when they made HA.
Very cool.. Thank you!
Just in case no one mentioned going through Hill Valley! We went there in 2012 on our honeymoon! :)
Very Cool!
My all-time favorite movie.
@@NickP Me, too!!🤘❤🥳
Nicely shot and edited video. Gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside thinking about that movie that I've seen so many times. Good work.
Glad to hear it. Thank you!
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York this movie is released in 1992!
How do you know?
Nice video. A lot of people do the location shots but there’s always something new in every video
I am from Czech republick and new York is my dream city
That's awesome, I hope you realize your dream one day...
My wife and I visited your amazing city in 2018 and we loved it!!
its not that great. to be honest its a shithole now.
@@dirtyliberal1 Bro be thankful for what you have. It's my dream city too, you can't compare that shit with citys over here...
Excellent Nick my Daughter will love this as it's her favourite movie 👍
That’s great to hear Richard! Thanks a lot and happy holidays!
@@NickP same to you mate👍
New York City was so nasty and beautiful at the same time back in the 90’s but nothing change at all.
I agree.. So tough but so beautiful at the same time.. It was a place like no other. It's kind of mind blowing to visit places that are frozen in time. It's a also interesting when they have changed in other ways.
Dont forget 2001 and twins!
Rudy fixed it up
Went looking for a video on Home Alone 2 and boy did I find a cracking one. Outstanding Nick. Visited NY in 2018 and did the usual tourist stuff, but the movie locations around the city are a visit itself. I did the Radio City picture, but I’ve now realised I past a LOT more than that thanks to your video. Top work mate and a Merry Christmas from the UK.
I really appreciate it, and I’m glad it helped you out.
Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!
Thanks a lot!
Cool
Thank you!
@@NickP ive been waiting for someone to post movie locations for "Black Dog" starring Patrick Swayze but nobody has done it
@@robot4829 I almost did Ghost but I had to postpone it for a couple of reasons. That’s a good request, I’ll try to get it done!
Heres a fact! You can make out the shapes of the world trade center, and the krystler building in the beginning of the film with the house and buildings
Fourth dimension courthouse square, Back to The Future?
🎯 Yes... Courthouse Square is right behind Brownstone St on the backlot of Universal Studios Hollywood. I made the 4th D comment because I was saying that at the Hospital location, visualizing the video. Ha, anyhow, nicely done.
@@NickP
Yes I knew what you were getting at Bud. I've been thru the backlot at Universal but one day I'd love to hop off the wagon and walk thru the town.
The very first episode of twilight zone was filmed there and its instantly recognizable. Also the theme is kinda like one lone dude stuck in another dimension.
@@lambjack1 Cool
You and me both.. I tried a couple of times but it’s tough with the constant shooting schedule. I know the episode and the first time I saw it I knew immediately. I’m also a big fan of the movie The Sting. It’s seen in that one too, along w Gremlins.
@@NickP
Good job. Just subbed. Merry Christmas!
@@lambjack1 Much appreciated! Merry Christmas to you too!
Awesome video. Thank you for taking the time to record this 😎👍😎
Glad to hear you appreciated it. . Thanks a lot!!
Awesome to see the locations used. Thanks for doing this. 😊👌🏼
2:21...... NEVER FORGET 9/11
This is so amazing thank you! ♥ I live in the Uk and always dreamt of visiting these locations, this has felt like a mission accomplished in some small way, I loved this video so much!! Thanks for making it I appreciate you!
Glad to hear this video helps fill that void, and hopefully you get there yourself one day! I greatly appreciate the feedback!
Jump on a plane and go ..
One cool fact about that one is they don’t call him Calvin they call him kid but they look at his backpack and read it but they don’t ever say Calvin they just called him kid throughout the movie
Great video. Thanks for the effort you clearly put into it.
Thank you!
When home alone came out classic NYC was still a thing. It's kinda changed now. But I think COVID is what makes things appear extra different. Seeing the almost empty streets. That's just not NYC. It's supposed to b crowded! Lol
LOL. Agreed, I hope it makes a full return very soon!
9/11 too
Home Alone series always jumped out of my mind this time every year, the holiday season
In movies, some scenes are not filmed at a real house or building, but in a studio
Kinda hard to film exterior shots in a studio or stage so most shots are filmed on location.
yes very true there Davin like the Nutty Proffesor 2 The Klumps which ive seen the studio rooms where each shot was taken each one of the rooms had a a video clip on a tv of the scene in each room at uvs Hollywood
Nick P Was Here good job on fliming the home alone 2 location some areas you went looked different but most places looked the same i grew up on home alone 1 and 2 those are my childhood movies
Two great movies... Thanks a lot!
They should recreate the scene with Kevin and Trump today...
Hopefully Kevin doesn’t believe the lying corrupt media. It only takes common sense.
