I actually didn't know you could scrap multitools for expansion slots. I've wasted nearly a billion units paying for them the old-fashioned way! Thanks for the tip!

I get tons of expansion slots and nanites from selling the multi tools. You get a bunch of void motes from a certain type of multi tool you find on monoliths.

I would like to add a couple tips, though some can be considered exploits. First thing, the walker you killed drops that orange thingy, which you can "mine" for a walker brain... don't do that immediately, go near it and interact with it to get a brain, then mine it for another brain. Sentinel walkers can "drop" two brains.
    ~
Now about the guild envoys, you should know that reloading a restore point will reset their inventory (shops too IIRC). So, you can go to an envoy, pick up any freebies (free items), go to your ship to enter and then exit (thus creating a new restore point), then reload the game using the restore point. This will reset/refresh the NPC inventory so you can pick up the freebies again. Like that you can "farm" storage expansion slots for your exosuit, ship, multitool and even freighter (depends on each station and what they offer at the guild envoy).
    ~
One more thing, while most multitools can be scrapped for credits (actually they give you items with high trading value, not the credits directly), the atlantid type of multitools give you void motes, the "currency" of the newer robotic race. I remember scrapping an S-class that disappointed me (poor super charged slot placement) and it gave me 10k motes (might be wrong, it's been a while and my memory is like an old notebook, no longer working).

I have also noticed the 2 brains from Walkers. First loot the "head" for a brain, then destroy it for a second Brain.

@@CasterPenn You're welcome. Now that I reread my comment I notice I wrote too much, but also too little. The part about scrapping multitools for credits, I meant that as a warning. Not 100% sure, but if you don't have free inventory slots (in the exosuit, ship, maybe even freighter) when scrapping a multitool, you might not get the high value items (and not get any other form of compensation). I haven't tested that though.

    • @CasterPenn
      @CasterPenn  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

@Philipasu I'm pretty sure if you don't have enough inventory slots, when you hit the Scrap Multitool the Exosuit voice says 'inventory full' preventing you from scraping it.

Just another small tip, rename ANY items to sell eg rename them to SELL as it it very easy to select the wrong item as I scrapped my good multi tool 😂

On Ship Hunting, here is an old-school brute force method worth knowing. Especially if you KNOW there is a specific ship in a system, but it never seems to appear for you. See, what happens when you appear in a system is that the game will spawn *some* of the ships "native" to said system. Not all, I should emphasize).
Step 1, go to a "high traffic" area - eg. the Space Station or one of those big Parking Garage / Starport things.
    Step 2, save your game.
Step 3, watch everything that comes in and out. It should take no more than 4-5 minutes for everything that was actually spawned to make at least one visit. By then, repetition will have become obvious anyhow.
Step 4, if whatever you wanted hasn't shown up, reload your saved game. The will automatically reset the spawn. Return to Step 3, rinse and repeat.
If looking for something with low odds of appearing, like that system's resident Exotic, it will likely take multiple recycles for one to appear, so patience helps (unsure what the odds of an Exotic spawn is these days, I THINK a couple of percent).. It is also not uncommon for even an Exotic to show up more than once if/when it DOES spawn. So, if you've just grabbed whatever you were after, but would like a matching pair, simply wait and see for a bit. It can happen. Even triplets are known.
I love Exotics (except for Squids), have 5 in my main game - one from pure chance, the other four via this method. You can get a similar effect by leaving that high traffic spot, pulsing out for a short bit, then returning and re-landing. But this way saves you both time AND fuel. :)

I love exotics as well. Got one in my ship collection. I would like a squid ship, but I'm not overly fussed.

Storage - I have a Hauler in my fleet which I have maxed out (especially as regards interior space), and loaded to the proverbial gills with just about everything in the game that is valuable, useful and/or usable. Wherever I am, if I happen to run out of something important, I whistle up Big Kahuna for a quick refill. :)

Bases - One trick I use is to attach notation letters after a Base name, detailing that Base's capabilities. For example, PG for a Portal Gate close by, AG for one or more Agdomes, Fr if there's a Frostwurt plantation, O2 if an Oxygen hotspot is being mined there, , and so on. When you have a lot of Bases, this is much easier than trying to remember who has what and where. :)

For shiphunting, also chrck the conflict level of a starsystem. Higher levle means less trade, less ships. Ideally look for 3star economy, 1 star conflict. Vykeen for fighters, Korvax for scouts, Gek for transports. Solars are present in every system, but much more in pirate systems. Exotics are everywhere, but also the rarest.
Instead of buying carts for finding crashed ships or alien structures, use your exocraft with radar upgrades. With freighter upgrade you can summon them everywhere.

I got my multi tool up to 130 potential damage last night it's a grind but need to search for good neutron Cannon mods with high recharge rate and put them in turbo slots. Neutron Cannon is the most powerful weapon for your multi tool and recharge rate is most important stat ignore the rest of the stats.

if a space station only has 1 square block try looking next to the exo-suit facing it to the left of the stand with the holograph not the one for the suit up-grade. It will be a circle black disk like and some stations have all 3.

In each galaxy (ie Euclid) or each star system you visit? I've seen other people refer to them incorrectly; and the difference truly is vast.
