“Stay in the zone, with movement.” Listen up kids!
Great advice for young pitchers. You’ll stay fresher, longer if you’re not giving EVERY batter a throwaway pitch or two in youth baseball.
Good vid! I like his slider release too. Easy on a young elbow with just the flick instead of the twist.
1. Curve ball because it drops a lot
2. Fastball because I can locate well
3. Change-up
4. Slider
1. Fastball (Corner paint)
2. Slider (Late vertical break)
3. Sinker (GB machine)
4. Change-Up (Locate near fastball)
5. 2-seam (Jam leftys inside)
The challenge is being able to command all of these pitches on the same day for me. Normally I can only get a feel for 1 or 2 of them at a time. Sometimes you just cant execute a certain pitch and need to make adjust in the moment.
1. Fastball/cutter (i pronate a lot so it goes glove side) because consistency
2. Sinker 1 seam (its gross)
3. Slider (nasty late movement)
4. Curve/slurve (im a 3/4 slot so its more a slurve)
1.slider
2.curveball
3.changeup
4.fastball
TL;DR Looking to start pitching 14yo not getting much movement any advice.
Hey I am 14 years old and currently playing 1st base as a left hander in divison 2 baseball I think I would do much better on 2nd but coach won’t put me there because I am left handed used to be good at pitching but stopped when I started playing seniors not getting much movement with pitches any advice. Looking to start pitching again because it is a “left handed position”
1. 4-seam Fastball (Most Control)
2. Slider (Hard break, not always consistent)
3. Curveball (Good break, not always consistent)
4. Changeup (Nice drop)
5. 2-seam Fastball (Occasional two seam run)
6. (Maybe) 1-seam Sinker
I picked up the slider from one of your other videos and it worked really well. I just need to work on it more. I tried out the sinker and I liked it and will work on it more. Also, can you give the glove signals for pitches because I'm not sure where to find one for the sinker. Thanks.
I also use a 1 seam sinker. I could never get the 2 seam sinker to work properly. So I used the 1 seam sinker, but put my middle finger on the left side of the seam (right hand pitcher) and my index finger next to it. It may not get the exact 1 seam sinker spin, but it sinks as I release it with the lower right part of middle finger as I rip down (that’s what I think).
1.four seam
2.two seam
3.curve ball
4.split change
5.one seam sinker
6.slider
😳 that’s a lot of pitches
I forgot to put my cutter to
I’m also pretty good at using different grips to minipulate the ball
1. 2-Seam
2. 4-Seam
3. Curveball
4. Circle Change-up
1. 4 seam fastball
2. 2 seam fastball
3. Head to ankles curve
4. Sweeping slider
1- 4 seam fastball
2- Changeup
3- Sweeping curve
4- Sinker
What velocity is needed for a one seam to be effective?
1.Changeup
2.sinker/2seam
3.curve
4.4seam
5.cutter/slider
Please give me the link for the watch band. I have a versa 3.
I play blitzball and my pitches are:
1. Slider
2. 4 Seam Fastball
3. Screwball
4. Knuckle Curve
I can throw a fifth pitch, but not that often it’s a 2 Seam fastball, which is the same arm angle as my slider but it’s way faster and moves the opposite way
Most blitzball arsenals look like
1 slider
2 riser
3 sinker
4 knuckle drop
5 four seam
6 two seam
7 forkball
8 cutter
9 knuckle ball
10 screw ball
11 splitter
12 change up
13 circle change
14 curve
Ohh yeah, that’s only half of them
Thanks good video
1. Four Seam
2. Circle Change
3. Slider
4. Curveball
5. Two Seam
Hey Coach.. had some of our pitchers ask about a secondary pitch to work on (14 yrs old). They already throw fastball, changeup. I suggested the sinker. However I'm wondering if that is the best choice given the age of the kids. What are your thoughts? given that we dont want to much strain on arm, elbow and shoulder.
Sinker is a great one. You can also try teaching other fastballs like 2 seam cutter and splitter. Just stay away from breaking pitches until high school.
Slider
4 seam
2 seam
Curve ball
Sinker
Cutter
My son is 12 and they primarily throw 2 seam, 4 seam or circle change. At this age what pitch should he focus on adding to not hurt his arm? is there a good video he should watch on your suggested pitch?
I’m a big fan of the Sinker. I’ve got tons of video on it. He could try a one seam sinker too. I’ve got a video on that and then a ton of videos on a 2 seam sinker and even have a training course on it. baseballtrainingprograms.com/advanced-sinker-slider-training-discount/
@@YouGoPro thanks
I’m 14
For the last two years I’ve switched from a Two Seam and a Curveball
Into a Four seam, Curveball, Slider, and Circle Change and its worked amazingly for me
Circle Changes are fun to throw and not too hard to perfect
Sliders are awesome too but may take a bit more time to perfect
My playing days are long gone... more on the coaching side of things now. I'm becoming more and more a believer that it's the workload that breaks down young arms and not so much a specific pitch. Teach your boy to use his body, not his arm to throw hard. Location and IQ beat speed at any level. Velocity will come with maturity, but trying to throw 95 at 13 will ruin a pitcher's arm before anything else. Teach your kid(s) to locate a 2-seamer 99/100 times, and then work on a change. After he can locate that 99/100 times he can see what a slider feels like, and... BOOM he's a D-1 pitcher
I’m certainly no expert and everyone has to experiment based on arm slot and spinability but seems everyone is trying to throw way too many diff pitches at an early age. Learning upwards of 5/6 pitches that are unserviceable make no sense. Mechanics, arm conditioning and 2-3 pitches max as a young teenager and making sure you are executing them well is far superior then 4+ ghetto pitches. I get that it doesn’t sound as cool but having established plus pitches with command is what gets you noticed. I’d much rather double my reps on those few pitches and perfect them as best as possible. Find yourself a knowledgeable catching mate, that can give you good feedback, and don’t be a thrower but a proper pitcher.
At what age should I throw a splitter/forkball
Sinker
Splitter
Slurve
4-Seam
1) Curve Ball - Armatures mostly can't hit a sharp 12 to 6 drop.
2) Sinker - Gets Good Run
3) 4 Seam - It's not impressive, but it sets up the other pitches
4) Change Up - Gotta keep 'em honest
1 4 seam 2 forkball 3 12-6 curve 4 slider 5 circle change
I may be a rare breed with grips. I grip all my pitches the same. I tilt the ball and do a 2 seam grip, I just have different pressure for everything. 2 seam, sinker, cutter, they all move a lot
I don't want to hurt my arm, so what age should people start throwing sliders. I'm 13
I think this video has your answer👊😉

I'm 14 and I throw a slurve type thing it really depends on how developed ur body is personally
Its crazy how two pitchers throwing the same pitch in totally opposite mechanics lol crazy how bauer is soft and a two seam grip with a stiff wrist and he pushes the ball craig is a tight grip 4 seam grip and pulls the ball down both great pitchers throwing it completely black and white pretty sick
