    Great info. Thanks. I do a 7 day fast once a year, intermittent every day and try to fast 48 hours per week. Keto mostly for the rest. Currently in day 5 of my annual 7 day adventure and feeling amazing!!

    I've done 2, 3 day fasts and going into a 5 day fast in 2 days. My recommendation if someone is healthy and thinking about fasting, do not start with anything longer than 3 days fast. Also, to ease the fast, my suggestion is cut sugars out of your diet for 2 days before you start. If you are hungry and have a sugar crash at the same time, that's tough....

    • @PeteOnPurpose
      @PeteOnPurpose  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good advice, I would also suggest cutting out caffeine before as well to prevent having a headaches, incase you are a regular coffee drinker.

    Your initial video on the 7 day fast motivated me to do my own 3 day fast (maybe longer). I'm on day 3 out of 3 today, so I can eat dinner tonight if I want to finish the fast. I got some training exercise on Tuesday otherwise I would probably just keep going.
    I am an American soldier stationed in germany but I have been supporting nato in an old soviet base in slovakia. I been struggling with packing on weight at 38 years old. I have been intermittent fasting for years. But never could get under 2015 lbs since 2018. Living here made me get upto 231lbs when I watched your video 3 days ago. I made a vow not to go back to my high-school weight of 230 again. I am above average athleticism, I run 3 miles every other day and about 10 to 15 miles on the weekend. But I always was heavy set.
    The gov feed us very processed food kept in frozen boxes and re heated. The problem is the proportion are small (excpet we got unlimited snacks) and I am constantly hungry so I mostly fail at intermittent fasting.
    This fast was way easier than I expected but that might be due to experience with fasting in the past. I was OMAD most of 2021. I think it harder in the past to just go 24 hours without eating than this current 3 day fast. Maybe it's my desperation to get below 230lbs.
    But thank you for your video. It was the extra push I needed to start this challenge.

    Great vids man. Im on day 3 of 7 myself right now. Did a 5 day juice fast last year, now trying a 7 day water fast after integrating intermittent fasting into my life. We have similar body builds (you have more muscle than me though), so this was very helpful. I'm consistently down 25 lbs over 2 years and feeling good. I would guess that you weren't hungry a few days into the fast because your body became accustomed to receiving less food. No wonder the first few days are the hardest to get through. Nice job on completing the one week fast.👍 It's something I could not do, or else my training would likely suffer. 😂 Very informative overall.

    I was hovering around 100 kilos and I did Keto for about 7 months, felt great. I lost 20 kilos, and then pandemic happened, lost my job and got deppressed. Because of that I stopped my Keto diet and gone back to my eating habit. I gained almost all the weight I lost before I know it. I addressed the set back by doing 10 1/2 days of water fasting with a cheat of black coffee with 1 teaspoon of stivea sugar. Lost 9 kilos before breaking my fast for 1 week and now I am on my 3rd day of my 7 day of my water fasting. My overhaul plan is to go back on 2 meals per day Keto diet for 1 week followed by 1 week of 1 meal a day with carbs. Its a trial and error see what's works.

    Im not sure what you mean by 'cravings vs hungry'. You didn't eat for 7 days... believe me... you were hungry... the definition of hunger is basically just a feeling that you physically need food. So if you feel weaker, more tired, or you feel hunger pangs... yeah.. you're hungry.

      I would stop the fast. Fasting puts a lot of stress on the body and takes some practise. Did you include electrolytes and lots of rest during your fast?
