We owned a 2013 MN Triton 2.5 4x4 (manual) and currently own a 2016 MQ 2.4 4x4 (auto) Triton. The MN was traded in 2018 with 110,000 Klm, and had zero problems. There was a factory recall for the overheating problem. The MQ has now covered 170,000 klm and has just recently had the exhaust manifold replaced under warranty, although the car only came with a 5 year 100,000 k warranty Mitsubishi saw fit to replace it. Our cars cover mostly Australian country kilometres as we live some 240klm from the capital city in our state. They are used for a yearly 4x4 Outback trip and have both happily towed our 21 foot 2800 kg caravan around the state. For us the have both been great cars.
when a short SCV IS TO BE REPLACED with the long fixed type SCV it needs to relearn in the oem carshop. hi, i fitted an SCV on my l200 and it caused the EML to illumanate, it was a generic SCV for an l200,....i have since found that the fuel pump is numbered 294000-0331, i have found an SCV on EBAY that is compatible with that pump number and has part number 1460A037,...... will that SCV work on the truck without the need for the SMALL QUANTITY LEARNING procedure?....the first 4 digits on the plastic electrical part of the SCV are 0360,......cheers in advance.
In 7 years i did almost nothing to my 2009 l200, its been super reliable, no oil change, nothing, lol. Only had one code for egr valve, new valve was £160 and an easy diy job. This year finally did an oil and coolant change plus filters.
Would you know the issue of " re connect control panel" displaying on screen in my 2010 Mitsubishi Triton DiD 3L double cab . ive try to major reset..didt work. any thoughts?
Hello . Thank you for this video. I am an owner of a 2012 Mitsubishi L200 with an automatic transmission gear box. And here is the problem . As I am driving at a normal speed of 80 km/hour -55 miles/h , often stepping away from the gas pedal and let the car go due to traffic, then the car breaks suddenly 2 times and moves from the 4th gear to the second gear. After that it is stucked on the second and I cannot accelerate, the D indecator flashes, and the only way out is to pull over and switch off the engine and started again. Do you have an idea what is causing it ? Can anyone help ? Thank you
Had the same issue you spoke about first re the scv after owning a 2010 model for a couple years the car went into limp mode with the traction controll light and eml glowing ...after checking cides with a mechanic weve changed the scv and have since tried to program that svc to the pickup but its showing an ecu code failure mechanic that's working on it at the minute is pointing me in the direction of a new ecu as he is unable to clear the ecu fault code or learn the car there's a new scv that's been fitted because the ecu code is blocking him from clearing codes or learning the new part...any advice on this?
my car l200 - 2007model and sometimes when go up the hill is got no power, what can be the cause of this.(but one day it was fuel accidentally instead of a diesel they fill in unleaded can this be the problem and what can be done.
Hi, can you please tell me is it possible to swap the engine on my 2007 l200 for any other?? Any idea what engines would fit in it? Been heaving trouble with my pick up for over a year now, 1st and 2nd gear its useless, loosing power, driving on a straight level road coming up to a slight hill i’ll have to change into 3d 2nd and then stop completely and put it on a 1st gear otherwise it won’t climb up and stall, had it to 3 different garages for a same reason costing me money and they don’t seem to be able to fix it.. had enough of it would like to swap the engine for another if possible. Let me know please when you get a chance Thank you..
i have had the hilux, and navara nothing compares to the l200 totally reliable ignore the trouble rubbish...if you can hear the video that is. these are a great jeep,so great i have moved up from a 2007 model to the 2018 model
Hi! Is it true that 2.5L 4d56 VGT mitsubishi engine splashes oil from the dipstick? Is it normal? Because mechanics at mitsubishi claims that its normal. They have shown me new cars with the same engine which splashes. I just want to have your take on this. Thanks.
Yes. I have this issue today when the breakdown mechanic came to look at an intermittent overvoltage problem. He spotted oil over the engine and the dipstick hanging out. He said the washer was flat on the stick and replaced it for me.
check your radiator maybe its full of dirt you need either to clean it or change it, this is a common issue my father have a triton and he's got the same issue once he cleaned it its all back to normal
I am so confusing which one should i take 1 Nissan Navara 2006 almost 9000 us dollar 2 Ford Ranger 3.0 2010 alomost 11500 us 3 Mitsubishi l200 2004 diesel 11000usd . which is more reliable and efficient . I wouldn't tow or offroading .
Suppose it depends on your location, The 2.5 diesel Navara's have issues with the engine timing chains snapping along with the Chassis snapping in half due to corrosion, owners fit a upgraded duplex chain as prevention, if you live in a hot dry country the chassis corrosion might be fine compared to a typical UK model that's had years of winter salt spray from the roads rotting them out. That model year Ford Ranger is also know to be a bit of a rot box, again, might not be an issue depending on where you live, its probably not as structural as the Navara's issue but i had looked at an 09 plate one the other day and it was pretty scabby looking and had already been covered up once before, mechanically their supposed to be alright. I'm not too sure on the K74 models as I've personally been after the B40 L200(2006-2016), but IIRC from the owners forum I'm on they had headgasket and cylinder head issue's, But I'd imagine at the current age your looking at if it was going to happen it would have probably happened by now
@@fullthrottle5293 Thanks for your respond . I live in India area . Now seeing my situation Ford may be good choice . am i right or not ? I think Nissan Truck has biggest common issues than L200 and Ford ranger.
@@abhisheksikdersagar2894 Yes I would say the Navara is probably the one to avoid IMO, which is a shame as I think its the best looking truck out of the 3 you have listed, but again its probably down to how they specced them for the Indian market, they could have different engines compared to our UK/Europe version which have to pass tight emissions regulations, There is also the Mazda BT50, which is a Ford Ranger with different bodywork, but again I don't know if they were avaliable in the Indian market.
£500 to replace and reprogramme an EGR is a rip-off - which is why I haven't gone to a main dealer in over 20 years. I've been taking my cars to a small local independent garage, who gets all his business from word of mouth recommendations. If he screwed people like that, he'd be out of business in a matter of months.
I had a new EGR fitted to replace a failed one; it only lasted a couple of years, so I made up a blanking plate out of annealed thin copper sheet and blanked it off. Kept the car for another five years, and it never once failed the emissions test in the MoT - so I agree with you; EGRs are a total waste of time and money. Another point; after fitting the blanking plate, I put the recommended amount of injector cleaner into the fuel tank to clear out any carbon in the induction system, and that was it - no problems in 40,000 miles.

If overheating is such an issue, what is the main cause?
they had a problem with the machine that shaved the heads down at the factory. quite a few units were affected before they fixed the issue

What does it cost to have an SQL performed after SCV is replaced with a new one?
£69 + vat asking as the car it at operating temperature

You have to reset the ECU after you install it
