That John Deere baler sold for close to what I remember my folks buying that new back in the day. The only JD green we had on the farm because my father thought maybe they had the knotters figured out better than the red balers he'd fought with -- nope. I learned all the cuss words from that JD baler when the weather was changing, hay was cut, and the bales weren't tying. Nostalgia sells a lot of the old tractors. However, with equipment and parts shortages plus inflation along with the raft of new homesteaders the demand for old equipment continues gaining. And as you know, that old equipment can still feed the nation. My grandfather and then uncle ran an 80 acre dairy operation with a Ford 2N (switching over from a team of horses) while my folks did about 200 acres of mixed crops and feed animals with a Farmall 806 as the five bottom plow muscle and a few other utility tractors.
Go Super C go! That one went higher than I would have thought it would. I don't know what the parts situation is for the F series Farmalls but if I was looking for a vintage tractor for parades, tractor shows ect. I would take a chance on the F-12. Happy new year to a you FF and all you Farmall fanatics!
I owned a 4320 and now a 4030 for hay. The IH 826 I owned for 8 years didn't owe me anything. Great machine! These tractors were all built well. The 30 series were Deere's problem tractors but they all old enough that repairs were made. People often forget International was the leading tractor company long before Deere. Thanks for sharing.

Myself and few guys in my part of the country have been grabbing up those f series Farmalls. And last week I just brought home a 10-20. Honestly it's a tight group of people keeping them alive. My current favs are the 1929 regular and the 10-20. Each one took about 3 cranks to fire in 15 below
@@FarmallFanatic yes the 10-20 i believe is a 1926. We have a little rivalry goin on between 5 guys in my area to see who can come up with the oldest machine. Oldest ones being a Caterpillar 20 track machine and the other was a Case C. But i think i have them beat lol
All the Deeres had 540 and 1000 shafts. I love that 4320. I had one when I was in my 20s. I had it painted and sold it before I even saw it. There are sweet rides. The pump had been cranked and it would pull hard. I now have a 560 Farmall Turbo Diesel.
@@tyfrank3427 I believe it is the AiResearch Model T606 turbocharger with a turbo exhaust manifold. I have not looked at it as I bought the tractor last summer and have not dug into the cleanup, fix, paint yet. It is a 59 282DT with the dry type air cleaner, not the optional 176 CFM dry-type air cleaner.

I’m glad I wasn’t there because I would have gotten into some financial trouble over that 4230 with the cab. I’m a IH red and Oliver green guy but damn that was a nice tractor. Someone got a good solid tractor for sure.
You talked about semi-mount 3 bottoms. Deere originally marketed them towards the 2010 tractors. They had enough power to pull 3 bottoms, but were just a little light for it, and the guys running a setup like that were usually small-timers and had small fields with fences all around, so they wanted something that would leave a smaller headland than a trailer plow, and could still be handled by a 2010

I watched a 2 row IH Gandy Planter with the fasthitch sell today, in excellent original condition... it brought $500....If l would have owned any IH tractors..that baby would have come home with me, it was that nice! I did take some pictures of it though

The way the paint was wore off the axle housings and the floorboard on the super c makes me think it was his favorite tractor. Will the jd suitcase weghts fit on your 656 front weight bracket or they made alil different so they only fit the jds?

the early F12 used a 113cid Waukesha engine which is what this one is the give away is the IHC c113 cid engine has the spark plugs on the magneto side of the head. your farmall cub had as much drawbar hp as the F12

Wow..... Even the 20 series are now pushing $30,000. I thinking people are buying them to work as well....... Says something about the new stuff out there. Small and mid size farms just cant afford to buy and maintain the new computerized tractors.
The John Deere A is actually an AR. The Super C brought good. You better go get that 230. That's as good of a tractor, and a much better deal, and certainly not as plentiful. I like the F-12. Those John Deeres brought good, but they appear to be original. Like I say in my videos, a nice original is better than a restored tractor.; a coat of paint can cover a multitude of sins. I like the little F-12. Those tractors I have no problem with at all. I know the reason for the semi mount. They are for tractors who are powerful enough to pull it but not heavy enough to pack the weight. A 300 can pull a 3 bottom plow but as you say they are a bit light to pack the weight. We have a fast hitch 3 bottom plow for our 300 Utility, and it handles it but it sure makes the front light. I personally am a fan of trailing plows.
If I'd had to choose a tractor for my tiny "farm" it wouldn't be a john deere . It's my homeade cub farmall. I can somewhat plow my onions with it on the REAP WHAT YOU SOW mini farm.

My grandfather had a 8 bottom plow that he pulled behind his international 806 and it did pull it and it didn't even pull hard his 806 had 94 horsepower in the engine wide front wheel weights and no weight in front he would take to the field and it would pull the front wheels off the ground about 3 inches
I love old international tractor's but if I had the money I would love to buy one of those older type John Deere's with that nice round cab I really like them and they seem and sound like a great tractor. I can't understand the person buying that new Deere for 200k at one of these auctions when he could buy 2 or 3 of these better built machines.
I've been bidding on a few tractors these last couple months. Tractors that honestly should only bring 5-6k are selling for 11-12k. It's pretty annoying, in ready for the new year so people quit buying write offs
Its kind of fun, until you realize it is in 3rd gear and you want to faster than 4-ish mph. And if you find an overdrive unit for it you can go a blistering 8 mph. Very agile little tractors though.
Brother get your flu shot … I did and I’m glad I did . I have never felt this terrible … ever . I try not to go out into the masses because of my compromised immunity . I went to the wife’s Christmas party and there was at least 100 people that attended . I’m blaming the party but I feel like I was hit by a car and with you going to all those auctions, well I hope you do not get this new strain of the flu . I’m saying without the shot I would be in the hospital … or worse . Enough with the doom and gloom just be safe brother and have a Happy New Year !🍻
According to the experts, this year's flu shot is last year's strain. Therefore..even getting the shot wouldn't help you fend off this year's strain. I got a flu shot in 2007 n the last time I got the flu was 2007...after the shot
The Super C was pretty high. The JD 6 bottom plow was low. Heirloom maybe. Saw a MTA go for $9,000.00 a while back. Grandson bought it. 2023 will be better. Won't take much to be better 2022 was so bad. Since the beginning of 2020 things have been bad, bad, bad. Nancy is gone. Automatic better.

John deer does not build quality equipment I think people who have them better grow up and read between the lines before they buy one and I'm not a john deer fan I'm a fan of all the colors but that color red yellow blue orange silver those are the color's that I'll buy

That 7 foot sickle bar mower brought good money. I sold one a few years ago for $ 300 and I was happy to get that much.

The Fairway 12 is different than the F12 but they do share a fair amount of parts.

Not a Waukesha engine. This is the International engine. The Waukesha was a flathead engine and the exhaust was on the right side of the tractor.

I'm a fan of fast hitch plows but you have to have the tractor matched and not overmatched

That JD A is not an orchard. Nothing would be sticking up for branches to hit. It was called a standard. Later it would be known as a wheatland model
The A is known as an A R whitch the R stands for none adjustable front end. The wheatland tractors didn't come along till years later.

145 was the model no. 5-16 was 145H. Not Deere's best plow.
