After 200 rounds through the barrel those groups will really tighten up, that was what has happened with my Eagle Claw .25 carbine using Griffen 44gr HP/HB/BT. I'm only getting 1.5 mags out of the box, filled to 180bar , overall I'm very pleased as it is great for hunting! When I see the Gauntlet #2 30 cal. I'm still happy with my choice because weight is extremly important when walking around carrying the rifle and the FPE can also be increased with a tune.
Between being brand new and in the break in period as you said yourself and throw in that serious wind you had going on I think it performed really well
Just about able to pull the trigger on one of these, and working with Hajimoto Productions on a couple mods for it. Should be able to get some pigs for the freezer come the first good cold snap this fall.
So I have a problem here. I bought a .22 G2. The first one was a leaker. I returned it. The replacement held air fine. Also, every single screw on this gun wasn't even hand tight! Piss poor quality control! Really? Then it would get flyers all the time. I put a Hajimoto Baffle Stack and High Performance Air Stripper and vented the shroud with a diffusor. Now it shoots pretty good. The problem is it will only group with JSB Redesigns and FX 25.39 pellets. Anything else, forget about it! It will group on a calm day, about 3/4" at 50 yards. Not bad. OK. I tried every Slug I could get my hands on. Forget it! None of them grouped worth a dang. Complete waste of time and money. Fast forward to this "epic" .30 Gauntlet. Yea, it shoots pellets pretty good, but the only way to chamber slugs appears to be taking a hammer to the bolt and drive it home! 100% Epic fail in my opinion! WTF were these people at Umarex thinking when they released this rifle? They had better straighten this SNAFU out and get it right like yesterday. Seriously, this rifle should chamber slugs easily, and group them sub MOA at 100 yards at will. Anything less is completely unacceptable! Get with the program Umarex! You know better than that! Maybe if you do, people will buy this gun. Your quality control needs to improve big time! It stinks right now! What are you going to do about it? Honestly I own a G1 Gauntlet .25 and this G2 .22 and I really think you seriously let everyone down with your poor quality control!
@@MadDestructionChaos thanks man! Thinking about pulling the trigger and buying one! No pun intended. Did you have leak issues at all? And have you hunted anything decently sized with it at all? Sorry for all the questions man!

Rick, you are either getting rusty or that .30 cal was faulty from the factory. There are three videos in youtube as we speak, and all shooters are getting most of the pellets in one hole,at least at 50yards.

@@MadDestructionChaos Wayne I bought a DonnyFL Ronin for my Gauntlet .30 on the recommendation of Hajimoto. @@bayonne I just got the DonnyFL FX, they didn't have any Sumo's left in stock. @@AirGunWeb thank you for that. Will be looking forward to the video. Based on the market for .30cal slugs, I’m guessing fx hybrid hollow points? Really curious to see if they fit/performance. Seems to be solid air rifle overall though. I’m used to real firearms but wanted to save on .22lr/ have the ability to suppress without nfa paperwork
Yes. Unlike with the brake-barrels, when the cylinder is pumped-up to the certain value, that's what you got in terms of pressure with which the pellet is launched, no matter what altitude you're at. Now, the (relatively) high altitude means that the projectile (pellet, slug, bb...) will be flying through the "thinner" (rarefied) air, thus being confronted with less resistance. And vice versa. However, I strongly doubt that these differences will be greater than just few fps down and up within the range between the sea level and, say, 2 miles above the sea. Also, keep in mind that, generally, the higher altitude means more wind, so the accuracy ("windage") will probably be worse there than at the sea level if you're hunting/shooting in the open.
Thanks Rick, Another knowledgeable video ! This gun in .30cal. would be my only choice !
