Hey there Jamie! I have Tourettes, and I'm 38 years old. I have been on meds all my life, and I am healthy in general, but due to years and years of neck tics and joint popping I now have degenerative arthritis in my neck, I see a psychiatrist who is treating me for OCD and my TS. My tics were so bad, I now get disability. My back and hips and neck are in terrible shape! I kind of walk with a limp. I do work, at the moment but I have to call out so much its ridiculous cause I can't drive, and its a delivery job owned by a personal friend. So, Thank the Lord he is so understanding and knows what Tourette is! I'd have been fired by now, and I was fired and harassed on my Job when I was 16. My tics make everything that's so, so simple so, so hard! anyway I am glad you seem to manage without meds. I don't manage well w/o them. :) take care God Bless!

Thank you so much for being so open about your tourette's syndrome! So many artists would rather hide their illnesses and disorders rather than telling people about them. And not only just telling us about your tourettes, but you also showed us your tics! My sister has tourettes, and I have an unspecific tic disorder caused by my lyme disease. Most of my tics are facial tics, so I'll blink a lot, the corner of my mouth will pull upwards, and my eyebrows will go upwards. I used to have a really bad tic where my head would jerk to the side repeatedly for hours on at a time (they almost always landed me in the ER because they hurt really bad and they wouldn't stop), but that tic thankfully went away about 2 years ago.
Love you so much, Jamie Grace!

My youngest daughter is facing a possibility of a Tourette diagnosis and it’s been an emotional roller coaster. I just want to say thank you. I am so glad I’ve stumbled upon you and this video. I feel so relieved by your energy and smile. I want this for my baby . When she wakes up tomorrow we will be cranking your tunes and potentially watching this together as a family.

I am so glad that you made this video Jamie Grace because this is one of the reasons why I love you so much and I look up to you in such an incredible way. We can relate to each other so much that it may seem unbelievable. At the age of 12 I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy. There's no cure and it has something to do with the nervous system in your brain as well. The short definition for Narcolepsy is "Severe daytime drowsiness" and just like you I had trouble with controlling my movements in muscles which is one of the issues that come with Narcolepsy which is called Cataplexy. Going to school was so difficult that in High School I dropped out. There's so much more I want to talk to you about and things that we can relate to you and Tourette syndrome, but this is the comments lol😄.I really wish to meet you one day and be the bestest friends because you are the reason why I want to pursue in Music and Arts you just inspired me to up most and I thank God for you. If you ever have time I'm on Twitter and Facebook my real name is Angel Hannibald just look for the picture LOL.

This is fantastic! Thank you for sharing so much. You take away the feeling of being alone or being “too much” that so many people feel and replace it with acceptance and normalize differences. This helps me not just to understand Tourette’s, but to understand others, and not feel alone with my unique challenges.

Wow thank you so much. I swear I am not making this comment to advertise my channel but I deleted all my videos because my tourettes started to fire up recently and I thought youtube might be the cause. After like 6 months of having my 25 videos deleted I decided to make a video again and each time I tried to make the video I ended up not uploading it because my tics were so visible. I was searching for ways to cure tourettes during a break I took while recording a video and stumbled across this video which has now given me the courage to just upload again without giving a damn about what anyone thinks. You are a strong and wonderful lady and thank you very much for the inspiration.

Does talking with the mouth piece ever bother your voice? I know a few of my friends who had retainers had to talk differently around it, and their voices got tired more easily.

I know for anxiety and adhd it helps me if I'm having a bad day and I don't want to deal with it that day if my friends and family pretend everything's normal so I can pretend everything's fine. My main impulsive behavior is voicing thoughts that I get excited about and my mom, husband, and friends just continue with whatever they're saying like I did just blurt out something at random. It helps me feel normal that they ignore it.

Hey Jamie! just wanted to say you are a huge inspiration to me, and we have A LOT in common. I was homeschooled on and off, I've been singing and making music since I was a young kid, I have an outgoing fun personality but suffered with Social Anxiety, Auditory Processing Disorder and ADD throughout school and it was very challenging but by the grace of God I made it through and developed ways to cope also God has delivered me from anxiety and I've come so far! I always used music as an escape it was therapeutic but I stopped singing for a while and I believe the Lord is calling me back to make music again! Another thing we have in common is I've never had a serious boyfriend and I'm not dating right now by choice waiting on "the one" God has me to be with and when I look at people like you and Megan Good who were in the same boat it inspires me to keep waiting on the right guy and not to settle :) I noticed in this video you mentioned how talking about Tourette Syndrome made you tick or twitch more and I remember when I sued to explain to people what social anxiety felt like I felt the symptoms even more! I think there's something to that! I learned to shift my focus away from my malady and surrendered my life to the Lord and slowly but surely he began to deliver me and I believe he can do the same for you! I admire how you are using your God given gift to expand the kingdom and I hope to someday make a difference too! BTW I would love for you to check out this cover I made a couple years ago on my channel it's the only video up so far but hopefully more to come! Also congrats on your marriage! God Bless :) th-cam.com/video/wxj5YI_iFWA/w-d-xo.html

If a situation is really loud or chaotic I just flip. My body twitches and if I can I find some where quieter I curl up in a ball and cover my ears. Thank you for this. My 17 yr old deals with this. Friends can b hard to come by. Trying to control the tics can take up a lot time one would use to be social and to work on those skills. Now that she has gotten older they are much better and she is trying to regain the social time she has missed out on, but it can be like entering a race that started while you weren’t looking. I will let her know about the mouthpiece.

It litterally just occurred to me that in drama we used to play this game it was called "hitchhiker" and its where there are 4 seats. The hitchhiker, the baby, the teenager, and the mom/dad. When the hitchhiker gets in the passenger seat, the family decides on a destination. During the game the hitchiker has to come up with a "tick" like tapping there leg or stomping the ground. Gradually the whole family has to catch on and then when they reach there destination, the mom/dad falls out of the car and there becomes a new hitchhiker, the hitchhiker becomes the baby, the baby becomes the teenager and the teenager becomes the mom/dad and it keeps going on until you decide to end the game. It made me realize how messed up that game is....

Just to let u know, I love it music of urs, but when a mans got worse over time thru his a man in Cleveland Ohio had an electrode put in his brain and a pacemaker and that totally got rid of his thru it:) just thought I'd share and give u that info for u just in case if urs does ever get worse thru it and like his did thru his and just to be letting u know that that option exists even. Have a even more blessed day thru u girl :) I love it that ur blessing u and others thru u here by educating others on it and 4 And them even:)
