  • In this video we are giving away a GPS coordinate that on this day we caught close to 60 fish on this spot. It is not an easy spot to find in the sense that it does not show a lot on the depthfinder but it has hard bottom and we wanted to help you find an area that is more difficult so it will make it easier to find more spots on your own.

    Just want to say thanks for doing this. This helps put together (for me) what I'm seeing on the sonar with actual coordinates - and what they mean. Again, thanks for all the info you provide. You could just as easy not do it and we'd all be the lesser for it.

    Thank you for the video. So many videos out there are of people just catching fish after fish with no real dialogue but you actually take the time to teach along the way. Really appreciate it and very much enjoy your videos!

    Great job Todd! I remember talking to you at the Boat Show and you mentioned you were going to do a video and share some numbers. Some of the comments below prove you can't please everyone. If you gave them a million dollars, they'd complain that you didn't give them 2 million!!!
    I guess they don't realize how long it would take them to learn as much as you're sharing. Keep up the good work. The "real ones" appreciate the knowledge!

    Thanks for the info & tutorial on the fish finder/gps equip. It's helpful. My boat is set up (2003 Penn Craft CC @ 22'3") for 1-5 mile fishing ... what newer fish finder would you recommend. The boat came with an older GARMIN GPS/Finder that's relatively small (6 or 7"). I've not hit the water yet this year due to the "virus" but would like to be ready when we can here in Georgia). THX.

    I am a semi nubie to fishing saltwater and very close to buying a boat to fish the bay and maybe a little in the gulf, my comment is when you catch a snapper or a grouper could mention what variety of the species that it is. Some of the snapper that I have seen y'all catch don't match the chart from FWC. I will help seeing the fish first hand and alive for me or others to recognize if we catch one. Thank you for the great videos.

    I just asked this on your other video, not knowing you were about to post a new one, but have you ever tried jigging for grouper? I generally don't like using bait because it's a pain in a kayak. Went out a few weeks ago in the gulf and a guy was jigging up some big red grouper with a spoon. I've also seen guys do well on bucktails. Never seen it done in the bay though.

      Yes especially on the humminbird. The simrad stays red all the time but when over soft bottom the humminbird will turn yellow.

    • @charleslanyon1940

      I watched the video. At around the 5:30 mark you start talking about giving out the numbers to the specific spot you were fishing. That's when you showed the screen and thats where everyone saw the 45' depth. Then, at the end, you provided numbers that are in 24' - 28'. It's not the end of the world, but I know what you said and I know what I saw. Obviously others saw the same which is why several people have questioned you. I haven't seen an actual explanation yet, so I asked. No need to explain it at this point. Just keep side stepping.

    • @TampaBayFishingChannel
      @TampaBayFishingChannel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@charleslanyon1940 um the area is very broad like a football field and a half broad. So there are ledges on the edge of the shipping channel and hard bottom in the middle of the channel. The number I gave is where the area starts. I actually have about 8 waypoints within about 300 yards of the exact number. It is hard to believe that someone wants to argue with someone who selflessly put out a gps coordinate that we catch fish on. But then again there have been many times that we have had boats all around us and we were the only ones catching fish. You can lead a horse to the water..................and by the way the gentleman above was using his navionics on his phone mine came from my gps when we were on the spot so..........
