Epic Day on Tampa Bay Fishing For Grouper and Snapper

  • This day was a day to remember. We caught well over 100 grouper and snapper. They were eating everything we put down. Thanks to all the people that came by and said hello and letting us know they are liking the channel. Big things to come!

    Sorry to be a bother, I enjoy your early morning ride out, sunrise on the boat. Outrageously beautiful mornings, as much as I enjoy you all getting on a bit with your Grandson. Like me, it will be something that he will never ever forget, him to you, and you for him. We all are so lucky to have, and have had someone to give us these moments in life. Thank you for taking me back fishing with my Dad, see you down there soon.

    Great fishing captains, it's 8:50am and this video was just enough to make me throw on my hoodie and run across U.S.highway1 for some red and black drum hunting before the wife wakes up. Thanks for the video and look forward to more

      I throw the humpback net 1/4” mesh 10’ 1.2# of lead per foot for the flats and a 1.6# 1/4” for deep water

    Will the grouper and snapper stay in the bay through December?

      Yes the snapper thin out a little but you can still find them but the grouper are fired up throughout the winter.

      As the water cools the grouper go into high gear with their feeding. The snapper will still be around just not as plentiful as they are during the summer

    I just got a boat, im a disabled vet, and fishing is my only relief in life , I would really like to know a few places to go so I can enjoying fishing like you I’m located by tampa I’ve fished the skyway before and go on charter in Clearwater but since I got this boat I’m really dying to go out . Please help

      Honestly I haven’t had the chance to take it out yet I’ve been doing hopefully all the important maintenance/service so I won’t have any issues while out. I’m from Polk county I’d be open to go and launch from wherever I would love to catch a Goliath Grouper 💪🏽, but I grew up fishing water fishing so really anything bigger than my hand is a monster to me, just want to also say I enjoy watching channel

      We typically fish right through it. The bite this day the tide was ripping in the afternoon and they were still going off!

      @@robwright2339 don't get me wrong the bite usually is tougher on a stronger tide. The other day was just a weird one where the fish never really stopped biting.

    Was this Thursday or Friday? We took off Friday and couldn't get them to eat at all with the strong tide!

      This was on Wednesday. We also fished on Saturday and did quite well but on the hard incoming they shut down a little and then picked back up on the switch of the tide.

      Tampa Bay Fishing Channel actually caught them on whitebait.. we had shrimp, maybe bought one on shrimp.. They were keyed in on medium sized live sardines and greenies

      On the spinning rods we are fishing 8 and 10# braid and then using 20# fluoro leader

    Looks like a TON of wasted fish, like 100X the amount of bait you will need for a day's fishing. Am I missing something?

      There is no fish that is wasted. We either cut them up for chum, use them live or throw them back in the water at the end of the day.

      @@TampaBayFishingChannel I guess I'm not used to the quantity of bait fish. Here in SOCAL I pay--60 bucks for live bait, and very few can be used as live, or dead chum. Quite a fishery you got there, tight lines.
