Royals stadium should get a roof. It would look lot better and cause of the heat in the summertime. Chiefs, could go either way but if chiefs get a roof leave it open when it’s cold. But if it gets below 15 degrees then the roof is closed
As a KC resident, I can tell you that these antics by Royals ownership has been shady AF! NO ONE is supporting this idea either from KS or MO. Missouri is ticked.
An MLB stadium where a player can literally hit a ball into another state would be incredible. Unfortunately, I don't think this can happen. The West Bottoms is a FEMA zone due to the 1993 flood. Missouri/KCMO probably not wild about footing the bill for another entertainment district in downtown KC. I would love for the Chiefs to stay at Arrowhead with a new sales tax and the Royals to move to the Crossroads via a new KCMO municipal tax. KCMO can't afford losing either of these teams.
The Royals rendering, as stated on the local news and every online story, is just a project by Manica. It’s not real. As for the Chiefs rendering it is also just a proposal. There is no architect for the project yet. But that location is for real.
Building a new stadium in the West Bottoms is idiotic. This area has a long history of flooding when the Missouri and Kaw rivers flood. Another thing, the location they have selected is less than a mile from a sewage treatment plant that smells bad. This is KCMO in panic mode. The Royals will be going to Kansas out by the speedway, too.
KC, MO. Is in the top ten of most dangerous cities in America. Kansas side is safer and better for that reason. Who would go to downtown KC, MO. these days? Not wise.
I only want either of these two options: 1. Keep the stadiums where they are but update them and build a ballpark village around them. 2. Move them to downtown. Either way, keep them in Missouri please.
Meanwhile, Robert Kraft built Gillette Stadium without ANY public funding. And won six super bowls. The adjacent Patriot Place is a major shopping, hotel, and medical complex. Hmmm.......
Rams did the same thing and they also won a Super Bowl with Matthew Stafford. Plus when the dolphins did a renovation on their stadium no taxes were used.

I don't get that YOU ARE THE CHIEFS, YOU HAVE WON CHAMPIONSHIPS. The fact that their stadium is so decrepit and voted last by players. I mean, some kind of improvement somewhere. Teams just make the playoffs & they do some kind of improvements. The Hunts don't strike me as a "holier than thou" ownership team. I know he's quiet and in the background a lot but c'mon!
The stadium is loved by players as a place to play. What they complained about is a locker room that hasn’t been updated and other equipment furnishing that has nothing to do with the actual stadium.
this seems highly unlikely. They would need to get different sets of approval, one from the Kansas side and one form the Missouri side.
You mean approval from Missouri for whatever is beyond the right field fence
This is not a real proposal. Just somebody's idea.
Agreed
The dimensions in this rendering are the exact same as the current Kaufmann Stadium, I believe.
Why don't they turn the ballpark around where they can have the outfield facing the Kansas River
Because the other side of the Kansas River is just an industrial area. Downtown is a much better backdrop.
Not to mention raising the Price for Everything. Foolishness
Because they would lose a lot of baseballs in the river. Just ask the Giants how much money they lose on baseballs that go into the bay.

330, 387, 410, 387, 330 are the current dimensions of Kauffman Stadium. So that's where those numbers came from.
I was just at the Yankees Royals game at the Klunk and most of the upper deck was empty. They don't draw and they are winning this year.
Baseball sradium looks great, Ginger has no taste.
I thought the original one for downtown was really nice. Too bad it didn’t get approved.
The Dallss texans became the KC chiefs , which I think you meant to say.
2:15 Those are the dimensions of Kauffman Stadium, there's no way they just copy and paste.
Kind of a relocation, they'll now be the Kansas City Kansas Chiefs.
This is just too weird you would have to get both states to approve it
That’s the size of the current fence they’ve always had the largest playing field that’s why it’s a pitchers field
Correct this is not a relocation.
Gotta remember that 385’ in the gaps and 410’ were the original dimensions for Kaufman Stadium so I don’t think that it’s not a stretch.
Why do render artists think people wave flags constantly at baseball games?
Probably because they've never been a ballgame and they're just hired to do a job.
Will all the construction going on in NKC by the redo airport this the best option as you can have parking and more visual of Kansas City in the background.
I-670 can't even handle rush hour traffic. Multiple wrecks daily due to the bottleneck going into downtown . This would be a traffic nightmare.

It’s a done deal. At least for the chiefs. Can’t say much about the baseball team because let’s be real. Nobody watches baseball anymore.

In 20 years almost every NFL team will be playing in an indoor stadium, which is disappointing.

Other way around imho. Chiefs stay where they are and royals move to Kansas. Arrowhead is an iconic venue.
