The end theme always make me cry... it’s the end of the story I started back in 2002, I grew up with prime 1,2, fusion, zero mission... and this song looks like the end of the story and the beginning of the new one, and a new chapter for me (childhood => teenange) it will always have a special place in my heart.
I agree. It was the culmination of the closest Metroid got to a decent story too. Kinda hammers down the reason why Samus prefers to work alone. It sucks losing comrades.
@jkkrieger24 I just hope that the looooong wait is worth it. I'm just as hyped for Prime 4 as any other **true** metroid fan. But I hope they give us a game Nintendo is proud to give us.. not a hot mess like Other M. Like, Other M has some fun gameplay.. but that's all it has, in my opinion. (Other M's Ridley fight is my all time favorite boss, just because he's always a fun fight)
My grandfather died last month and my grandmother in 2021 due to Covid. I actually remember bringing my Wii in 2019 to play the Prime games I just got. I also beat Prime 3 on Hard whilst staying with them. She and my grandfather loved to watch me play it. I miss them both very much. 😢❤
For me, this piece rivals the original Metroid Title Theme, because it brought back something that had been lost on most of the Metroids after one and two, and that's hope, I always remember how the second part of the original Metroid title sounds full of hope even though the first part's all creepy, and this theme does that too. I think that's one of the best elements of a Metroid game, when the gritty, dark, creepy universe shows you a glimmer of hope.
Supersatanicnightcrawler Well I disagree with that philosophy, some of the best Metroid songs are pretty cheery, this one, the original Brinstar, the second half of the Title theme...
This music embodies the journey you as samus have gone through. You have conquered the darkness, fought through the pain and loss, a shimmer in the dark expanse. While one journey ends and the universe finds a glimmer of hope, a new threat challenges that shining star. Dang... I really wanna play prime 4 😭
2:09 Tallon IV, Aether, even Phaaze... after all the suffering and cataclysm this part brings back the beauty of everything you experienced through your journey.
After hours of being in Samus skin, feeling the ardous fight against Phazon, and realizing your achievement, comes this beautiful voice to ground you again, making you remember the vastness of the Universe and time, and how an achievement can be huge or small, depending on your perception. Beautiful.
And when you finally put down the Wii remote, listening to this music, you reflect on all of the time that you just spent saving not just one planet like in the first game, or one species like in the second, but the entire galaxy from the threat of the Phazon. As Samus, you faced your biggest challenge and the toughest enemies ever in the entire Metroid franchise and you overcame them all. It is over. The fight is finished. That is what you call a complete game that is more than just a game, it's an experience. And there is only one word to describe how you feel at this moment: Satisfied.
+blackbomber72 Prime felt like one of only a few game trilogies of recent memory that actually had a really sombre satisfying conclusion. These credits made me reflect on when I played the first game in High School and how I knew nothing of Metroid, and then by the time I'd finished this in University I'd gone back and played the original games AND the GBA Metroid games, all because of this series.
I love this theme. It's such a fitting theme for the end of the series. It makes you think about how this is the last Metroid game for a while, how you had to murder your friends to save the galaxy, how you ended that crisis that has been raging on for so long, how it's changed you over the course of the events and how you defeated the literal apex predator, the most dangerous monstrosity that has ever existed in the entire galaxy, all on your own.
You saved not just one planet like in the first game, or one species like in the second, but the entire galaxy from the threat of the Phazon.
