I'm just now playing through echos, and just got here. Oh man, the chills when I saw the sprawling lights below and this menacing tower infront of me. This game is so much **darker** than it's predecessor
prime 1 and 2 are among some of my favorite games ever made, i think both contrast each other very well and each has their own strengths and weaknesses
At this point, you see the Luminoth and their technological prowess. You fight their rogue robots, some of which are able to disable the advanced Chozo technology that Samus has in her suit. They were in contact with the Chozo as well, so it makes sense that they could do that. I would like to see the Luminoth at least mentioned in Prime 4. In Prime 3, it was revealed that they met the Federation and helped them clear out the Space Pirates. I would also like to return to Aether or Tallon IV.
I love the detail that it was the *luminoth* that created the screw attack upgrade you were using throughout the series. Something that we would have assumed was always chozo, was really a product of their desire to seek out life in all forms
I remember my first full playthrough of Metroid Prime 2 and I didn't think anything could top what I just heard from Torvus Bog then I hit the Sactuary Fortress and this plays. Man I was blown away it fits so well. Metroid music has always been untouchable to me because it perfectly captured the environment and current moment going on to a tee. Can't wait to hear the different soundtracks in Metroid Prime 4 and Metroid Dread for that matter!
my favourite track of the game, it has this mysterious and ominous atmosphere... reaching this area for the first time is an unforgettable experience. Would love to see this thing remastered.
@@angelvillegas9604 Absolutely looking forward to it! I'm very glad that it looks like it's part of the trilogy and not weirdly different and "new-age" if you get what I mean.
I absolutely loved this entire level. The Quadraxis fight is the most fitting and perfect transition of tech themed music and environment into an equally astonishing and fitting level guardian. This entire playthrough solidified my preference for prime 2. It's an unbelievably underrated game.
Kinda interesting how, with how advanced the Luminoth are as a species, that this is the only area with advanced technology. Although it's implied that the Sanctuary area was the first place they settled.
I think all their technology was invested in the Sanctuary Fortress, probably because that's where they lived. Torvus used to be a forest, and Agon was a fertile land, might've been used for agriculutral purposes and whatnot. I'd like to imagine it was just 'Sanctuary' before the Ing arrived, then they had to convert it into the 'Sanctuary Fortress' as the last stand against them.
Never knew why the Agon Wastes had to be more colorful for people :/ They are wastes and they make Sanctuary pop out that much more. If everything looked like Sanctuary, that would make people complain too :/
I think the main issue is that you go from the dusty Temple Grounds straight into the dusty Agon Wastes. So the opening hours of Prime 2 are very brown.
the one dislike is from dark samus. which is actually a like in the dark world.
hehe good one

Please Nintendo, *please* remaster this game just like Prime 1, I need to see this place again, with updated graphics on the switch
Would be amazing!
Yes
I’d even take a straight port at this point as long as they gave it remastered’s controls.
@@Comkill117 I have a sneaking suspicion Prime 1 was partly made because Nintendo wanted to test drive their new control scheme for use in Prime 4.

It is indeed darker. I think that contributes to the reason why I do prefer Prime 2 over 1. Glad you're enjoying it!
This game is absolutely more mature & not for the faint of heart. Otherwise dark Aether is very likely to get to you 😋
prime 1 and 2 are among some of my favorite games ever made, i think both contrast each other very well and each has their own strengths and weaknesses
Dark aether used to scare the shit out of me when I first played it. The whole thing was horrifying during my first playthrough.
Oh hell yeah, Sanctuary Fortress might be my favourite place in MP2.
To this day. No place in Metroid has ever gotten the feel of the Sanctuary Fortress. Its actually insane how good this place is.
Just imagine how it would feel like in a remaster like Prime 1... Torvus Bog and Sanctuary Fortress are absolutely amazing.

The robot who can disable Samus's suit, is called Rezbit. Had some devastating rapid fire power too.

@@kruvik I hope they don't
Kenji did the whole soundtrack by himself and the first Prime game, he's a genius and a hard worker.
My one fear for Metroid Prime 4 is that Kenji Yamamoto won't compose the music. It's an absolute necessity for the Prime series.

The music really captures the super advance tech of the sanctuary!
