    Thank you for the honest opinions. I work in an office environment and hadn't even considered blue blockers until these relatively clear ones came out. Good to hear that they are of reasonable quality for the price.

    The +0.25 on the gunnar pair made me so dizzy I took them back to the store. So now I'm looking for a pair with no magnification at all. Great video! Thx for the info. This was during gaming for reading it wasn't bad.

    Great Detailed Review, but one thing you missing bro (The Blue-Light Test), without blue-light test how would you or I say that these glasses are blocking blue-light before purchase, I am using "Pixeleyewear" glasses right know and they block blue-light I have tested with blue-light pen, but I currently purchase "Cirzal Prevenica" glasses they Disappoint me hardly, Because They don't block blue-light and I waste about 80 $ so please make a video on blue-light test on FelixGrays.

    Great Review Oliver! Quick question, would you have any hesitation with someone using these (with prescription given by eye doctor) as daily glasses?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you fill your doctors prescription then no, I would have no problem wearing Felix Gray glasses all day. Felix Gray makes a lens that lets in enough “good” blue light for all day use.

  • @Wooofdog

    I wish you would do more reviews on these using their prescription lens services. I'm worried about using online services for prescription lenses. Any opinion on this subject?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm a little biased on this topic because i'm an Optician and I feel that working with an eye care professional is important. With that, www.influenceeyewear.com is the only online retailer that guarantees all orders are checked for accuracy by an American Board of Opticianry Certified Optician.
      They are partners with our nonprofit but even if they weren't I'd still suggest working with someone that knows what they are doing in regards to eye care and not just in regards to business.
      If you have a simple prescription then I don't think companies like Felix Gray, Warby Parker or others will be a bad choice. If you have a strong prescription or are looking for a professional opinion on what frame and lens options would work best for you, then check out influence eyewear.
      Hope this helps. I'll make a video on this soon. Have an awesome day.

    I work in front of monitors all day at work and I also suffer from migraines. In your opinion, would blue light blocking lenses be beneficial in reducing the frequency and severity of these migraines? I have tried everything and nothing seems to work, when the migraines decide to come they come full force.

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Ryan, sorry to hear about the migraines. Here's how I would approach it: First, get your eyes checked by an Optometrist. The need for prescription could definitely cause migraines. Second, blue light alone isn't going to cause the migraines but the intensity of light coming from your monitor can trigger it. In that regard computer glasses can help but lowering the brightness can also help. You may even want to look into a free software called f.lux.
      Migraines are triggered by different things but if you're finding that it usually happens after hours in front of the computer then I would suggest starting with an eye check.
      I hope you find relief soon. If there is any other info you need please let me know. Have a great day.

    So you're saying you used a lensometer on the Felix 0.00+ glasses there is no magnification ?
    That is good if true.
    I feel like 20/20 vision or those who don't need glasses for near or far would suffer minor muscular eye atrophy using magnified lenses.

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. It was totally Plano. Felix Gray is transparent with the magnification. No guessing with them.

    Hey Oliver, I am a photographer and videographer and I am wondering if these glasses will effect the way I see color when editing?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say no. The lenses are virtually colorless but the key part there is "virtually". I've helped some patients that notice the smallest amount of chromatic distortion but I have yet to hear that complaint from Felix Gray consumers. You should give it a try. I think you'll be happy with the clarity of the lenses.

    Hi, nice review if they are clear how much is the percentage of blue light blocked. Gunnars says that for their clear lenses is 35% are Felix around the same?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Felix Gray blocks 50% and Gunnar actually has 3 lens options. 65, 35 and 10 BPF. I'm going to release a video making a direct comparison between the two companies. It will be live tomorrow. In the meantime, here's an article I wrote about Gunnar vs Felix Gray. www.eyeinfluence.org/single-post/Felix-Gray-vs-Gunnar-Optik

    Should I use Gunnars or Felix Gray glasses to help protect my eyes? I spend most of my days in front of monitors, and I don't need normal glasses either, does the magnification from the gunnars hurt my eyes in anyway? (and does Felix Gray and Gunnars give similar amount of protection for your eyes?, which one would you recommend for someone that doesn't need glasses but spends a lot of time in front of TV and PC screens.)

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Great question. I'd have to say i'm a big fan of both but they offer different options. Personally, I like Felix Gray glasses but gunnar has about 3 different lens styles to choose from. Gunnar has different price options so if you're not looking to spend much (around $50) then go for one of the cheaper Gunnars. If you want a frame that looks Hippster and Trendy then go for the Felix Gray. You can't go wrong with either one but if you go for the Gunnar don't get the Amber tint. Get the Crystalline or the Liquit colors since they are almost clear.
      Thanks for watching!

    So should I wear these if I do a lot of console gaming?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No. Computer glasses with power are only for the distance of a computer monitor or closer. For console gaming on a tv you’ll want basic blue light filtering glasses for late night gaming.

  • @jnkhan82
    @jnkhan82 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’m a digital designer, do these alter the colors on the screen?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      To most, the lenses are virtually colorless and they offer little to no color distortion. But I gotta say, I wouldn't recommend it to someone that depends on color accuracy. For digital eye strain relief you should simply take regular breaks. If you have a prescription, dedicated computer glasses (without a blue light filter) could still really help when spending hours on the computer.

    Hello thanks for the video, very informative. I recently had a eye appt and my Dr. said my vision was fine but could tell my eyes get fatigued by the end of the day. She gave me a script for I believe .075 magnification but that just seems too strong for my eyes! Whats the lowest magnification I can get in glasses w/o them making me feel sick to my stomach.

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, that's a hard one to gauge since it's depending on your tolerance. I've seen situations where patients have to get "worked up" to their true power. So let's say you're a +.75, you can start with a +.50 and in a year go to the full power of +.75.
      It also wouldn't hurt to start with a +.25 like you'll find in the felix gray.
      I hope this helps. Let me know if there is anything else I could help with. Thanks!

    • @marshastonebraker6540
      @marshastonebraker6540 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great review thank you! I wanted to ask you about the magnification. I have 20/20 vision and I ordered glasses from Felix Gray with the magnification. Will this affect my eyesight or I heard you say it does have benefits just wondering if that pertains to someone 20/20 vision or if you think I should have gone without it. I know you are an expert and giving advice like this over the internet can be risky, but I cannot afford to go to the eye doctor and I can't seem to find anything on the web pertaining to my question. Won't sue just needing some help. Thanks!!!

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The magnification is very slight (just +.25) and truth is the only negative thing could be that you can't tolerate the magnification because of your perfect vision. I wore it with contacts and I was ok with it but I prefered without it.
      It's not for everyone but it's not going to hurt your vision in any way. The magnification will help to relax the muscles of the eye that are used to focus on things up close. One thing that I found useful when wearing the magnified set, was to only wear them in front of the computer or when working on things up close. for driving and walking around I just took them off. That's what worked best for me.
      I hope this helps but if you have any other questions please let me know. Have an awesome day.

    • @EyeInfluence

      Glad to help. I'm with you on the Magnification; I just couldn't tolerate it full time. Lots of people do just fine with it but I'm glad FG offers their glasses with or without. This actually all started with a review on Gunnar Optix glasses. They are super popular with gamers but all of their lenses have the +.25 and you can't order it without.
      Enjoy your Felix Gray's. I hope they do the trick. :)

    Felix grey or werby Parker? Which do you prefer?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are two totally different companies. Warby Parker is the way to go if you're looking for prescription glasses with a large frame inventory. Felix Gray is what you want if Blue Light protection is your priority.
      Hope that helps.

    Can you please do a review on Pixel Eyewear glasses? Maybe compare them to Felix Gray?

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are two different types of product. Felix Gray gives you the option to have magnification in the lens and this helps with focus and eye fatigue. Pixel really is just a high end Blue Blocking set of glasses. They have better quality frames and coating then sub $40 options but it's still just a blue light blocking lens.
      I'll try to make a review on it in the near future. Thanks for the suggestion.

    • @kanebright9974
      @kanebright9974 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I received my pair of Felix grays - I order the nash pair with the slight .25 magnification. They seem to have a better frame than the pixel eyewear glasses. Unfortunately the magnification option just wasn't right for me, so i'm returning them. Living in NZ, this was quite costly though! :( Unfortunately my pixel eye glasses had a bent frame when I received them - their support advised I use a hair dryer and re-shape them... This was kind of annoying. Regardless, I still kind of like these, although the frame does feel cheap. Lenses were good though, but appear to reflect light from the sides of the lenses as they are a little wide. I'm just trying to decide wether I purchase the whisky tortoise or black frames for the felix gray nash glasses now (without magnification) to give felix gray a decent test. - Both companies did have friendly and responsive support. Just my 2 cents.

    I want to buy UV and Blue light filter glasses but the retailer ask me "Do you mean prescription lens" what does it mean? do i need a prescription to wear UV and Blue light filter glasses? my both eyes are fine anyway...
    Edit: The retailer recommended me Zero gamer glasses for non prescription people.

    • @EyeInfluence
      @EyeInfluence  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If they mean the ZeRo sponsored glasses by gunnar then those should be just fine. gunnar.com/portfolio_page/zero/
      But to answer your original question, no you do not need prescription for UV and Blue Light filtering. If they don't know what you're talking about I would suggest going somewhere else for your glasses.
      Gunnar glasses are great and you don't have to get the ZeRo frames to get the results you want. All Gunnar glasses offer the same type of lens technology, they just come in different colors and filter percentages.
      I hope this helps. Have a great day.
