Default controls for Xbox:
Double-tap A for jetpack
Press right stick in to stay in place or to go higher
Double-tap Y to activate/switch the helmet/modes
Hold RB for leggings/boots to run
Default controls for PS4:
Double-tap triangle twice to activate/switch the helmet/modes
Hold X to fly up; release to descend
L3 button to hover
while hovering press R1 to launch forward in air/ hold R1 on ground for Speedrun
L2 for punch
R2 for shoot

Thank you for the vid, but I wish a video about this from one of the biggest ark youtubers would keep players not on pc in mind when doing a how to type of video like this. Of course we could look this up on say the ark wiki or something, but clearly you cared enough to compile this tutorial for the pc players. All I ask is that when you are compiling this information, if you could include the controls for other platforms as well since the information is found on those same pages. (Xbox and PS are always almost exactly the same button locations. Jump is always ps - A and Xbox - A. Shoot is always ps - right trigger and Xbox - right trigger, so on and so forth.
This is your channel and you can obviously do with it what you want, but I wanted to bring this up because there are a lot of console players that watch your videos as well, and we often get neglected or just forgotten by pc youtubers in general, not just you of course.
@@idkpeerpressure2854 your right but it dont take long to figure out on a control, since a keyboard has alot more keys its necessary to say what key does what, on a control you have like 12 buttons. I use a control on my pc tbh, all you got to do is press a few buttons for a test and away you go if you know what I mean.

@@Jmanpro232 well sure, I see your point, but those buttons change based on the screen you have open. X and square on one menu/inventory have a different function than the same two buttons on another menu or inventory. In addition, it is precisely *because* there are fewer button options for the same game as the pc, that the console controls are MORE difficult to figure out. The consoles sometimes have to use a 2 or 3 button combination to complete the same action that a pc can do with one key and a mouse click. Console players cant even split a stack unless it is in their personal inventory. We also cannot turn a single stack of say raw meat into 40 individual pieces unless we separate it one piece at a time or cut each stack in half until you reach 40 stacks of one.. PC players can also remap their controls, whereas console players cannot do so without a custom controller or attachment.

@@idkpeerpressure2854 your right but that is not the discussion, you do not need multiple buttons for tek suit, mainly x and all the back buttons, I admit controller is different but if anything teksuit is easier with a controller, I use a controller all the time I just use me keyboard to type and k mode. If nooblets was to try figure out different buttons for different consoles it would take ages.
The hovering mode is extremely useful since it allows you to tame almost any landcreature without building a trap or any other thing to make the taming successful.
also just holding shift while in the air makes you hover at which you can then move around at the same height
or u cna press right shift once ur in the air
Yep, I'm surprised he didn't mention this. It's great if you hold ctrl+shift for only a couple of seconds, then let go of ctrl while still holding shift, you will keep most of your momentum from the super speed but at the same time be able to look around at things, you'll only really start to slow down if you touch any of the wasd keys!
This is literally the most important control of the tek suit because it slows you a stable hover that doesn't gain height I use this more than anything
Ya, tis a very useful ability. The fact that they are all unlimited use is probably the biggest game changer
You can press L-Shift while in mid air to hover or R-Shift to hover permanently, very useful for taming, keep up the good work.

Also, while permanently hovering you can press CTRL and toggle the speed boost to afk across the map
A few additional notes
- pressing control while heavy will make you move even if you are super heavy, you can for example move almost 300 stacks of metal
- while heavy you can't jump and start the jestpack, but you can still fall from rock or use super punch pointing at the sky and then turn on jetpack
- shift is for moving forward in the air while space is for ascending
Mining drill + flight = unlimited metal
shift just makes you hover at a fixed altitude. Does not stop lock you in place tho. Tek pawnch damage is also disabled by developers for some **cough** PVPOFFICIAL**cough** reason.
fyi use the slam attack to launch into the air and now you can use the jets over weight

This is SO HELPFUL! I wondered why Wildcard wouldn't add any tooltips for controls for the MANY of us who never used a tek suit and had no idea. I've been hovering around the entire genesis 2 map taking forever!
couple extra tips :
1- Use auto run to auto hover too , bind that key for tek suit
2- you can press ctrl to walk while cap weight . Tek punch to air then hover and ctrl will make u fly over weight
3- underwater u can move overweight
4- Tek punch collect resources

tek punch collects a lot of resources very fast indeed, it took almost no time at all for me to get over encumbered with 3 stacks of metal whereas with normal mining it would've taken me almost an hour for 2
I've been playing ark for years just always solo so I never used tek Armour. When this dlc came out I literally tried looking for a video like this. Thanks for making one!
similar story here, i just did not have people to play with sso i never got far enough to even have full flak or ghillie yet on tek anything
It's kind of advanced but you forgot that if you tek punch and equip a map immediately after punching, you'll maintain that momentum and fly foward. It's really good for getting off the ground super fast or going up or down quickly. It's also a great way to get around on PvP because it makes no sound.
Favorite PVP guy XD which give out all his secrets to everybody and if you want have one too contact me (i dont give it to everybody just to the ones that give it to everybody)
Hey there Steve, one quick hint on the super jumps.
there are 2 things that can guide you to accurately do them
The audio cue.
After the jump is recharged, the suit does a high pitch sound. You can do it again.
If you look into the chest piece on the right side of the screen after a super jump a small white highlight will appear. When it's vanished, it's charged again.
I'm used with the audio cue now. It helps a lot to keep climbing.
Something really important, especially in space, is that if you hold "C" you can descend. Took me a long time to realize it but its crazy useful.

Hey Steve, can you do a tutorial on how to tame a Stryder and what they can do? There’s no good videos out there. Every time i go to tame one, it doesn’t work, even though I’ve done the required missions and have the gel in my hot bar.

Oh wow! I CAN use my good tech suit! The last tip is amazing and I can’t wait to try it.
Great video but it sadly lacks some very usefull things. These are:
Hover using shift
You can enter flight mode pressing space and you will slowly go up
Open your map while doing the superpunch to cancel it while keeping the speed. By doing this you can also reset the cooldown for the superpunch so you can do it as often as you want.
(This is increadebly usefull, especially if you combine it with the jump)
You can do your supersprint to walk while being overweight
You can use your superpunch to take off while overweight
Note: You can transport anything if you use the superpunch to travel. I recommend cancelling the punch to keep your speed.
Look in the direction you want to go, charge a “super punch” and right after you start to bolt in that direction pull out you map, super fast way to move with a lot of stuff (metal and other heavy resources)

Lol nooblets didn’t use it like a pro, he didn’t know how to hold shift to hover mid air. I still learned a few things from this, like how to use the helmet visor. Best ark channel.
Right shift will allow you to hover without holding it.

Do the tek punch release and pull out map. You also need to press right shift to stay in hover mode
Genuinly don't even play ark anymore decided it would never be the game I wanted it to be after scorch earth came out and they have still never fixed the core game.

on xbox there is a glitch or something where you can turn while superrunning, just press the superrun button 3 times really fast and hold, at the 3rd, now you should be able to turn a bit while superrunning. you will have to do this again if you stop
Many things he missed. If you hold shift while flying you can hover in the air, this will allow you to move around in the air and shoot down on dinos to tame them, kill them etc. If you hold space while using super speed you will slowly start to climb in altitude, good for long distance terrain alignment. And last you can move at super speed while completely encumbered, and you can fly while completely encumbered by using the super punch into the air, and then super speed to fly how you want. This is where using speed/space is useful as it will allow you to gain altitude easier.

omg i didnt even try to put the exo fed tek suit onto my tek suit and ive been bringing it with me across all the arks were i have element. gona have to stop by my island base and pick up my spare tek armor for the exo. sweet thanx nooblets i probly would never have thoughtvof trying this

By the way, for those of us who play on official, at least on PVE, the super punch has been nerfed already, completely useless now, and the super flying speed on space sometimes doesn't work (a bug pretty sure).

Space+CTRL makes you fly forward like shift but you slowly move upwards instead of straight.
Also a tip: don’t take off the armor unless you really need to because there is a chance it will glitch and not let you put it back on

You should of mentioned that being over encumbered is not an issue with the tek suit. Can always use the suit to power walk around. If on the ground and encumbered then just super punch into the air and turn the jet packs on. From there you can super fly to wherever you need to go.
Tek suit protects you from radiation even when it is not activated, as long as you wear the helmet first before the other parts.

I wonder, if the Confederation Tek Suit can be brought to other maps, because that would change the game in pve and pvp very drastically.
Doing caves, getting around on Aberration, taming almost everything, and so on. The list is hugh. Seeing a beach bob flying on the island would make me feel doubtful about the game as I know it.

I've noticed there's actually two modes of superman flight.
Control+shift makes you go forward at the same height.
Control+spacebar makes you go up slowly.
An easy way to remember is that it mirrors normally handles once you're in the air. Spacebar = up, Shift = hover
I may have been spending way too much time zooming around on Gen2 and (trying) learning how to not smack into things.
I know how to use the tek suit the way he explained but I always watch his videos just so he has that 1+ view and make just that little bit more money because he deserves it
Hello nooblets, just a quick one I dont know if your aware or just didnt put it in for a reason but if you punch while looking up then instantly bring your map out, you maintain momentum going up.
I could not get my Tek helmet to work. Everything on the internet says it's double-tapping e. You helped me find out that it's actually not, thank you for that.
If you get your map out whilst holding the superman fly button you can let go and still continue doing it. Press map button to get out of it
dont forget shift in miid air makes u stable-z flight, also control space makes elevating superman flight

If you pull out your map As soon as you use the gauntlet jump u go further
Note that the super punch no longer breaks stuff, or deals damage in official.

You can hover in the tek suit and fed suit. It's R3 I think In ps4. You hover in position without falling down. Good for hunting

If you wanna do fancier stuff I recommend watching howtoarks video about tek suit exploits. They might get patched but they aren’t bannable (except maybe infinite chest fuel but it’s no use on gen 2)

They reverted that change days ago. Now it just can't punch through metal but you can kill and farm with it, or punch through stone bases.
can i just ask how did you get the damage numbers to show? like when you hit an animal a green number shows up to indicate how much damage you dealt to the animal?
i want to replicate some of the inverse kinetics in the game, uh, could you go out and TAKE damage in a video, and then, can you die a bunch of different ways, on level ground for me?
i'd really appreciate the chance to replicate some of the IK physical animations, over in shape, via frame by frame imitation. thanks a lot, great video by the way, the tek armor is pretty awesome.

Do you need all the pieces of the suit for everything to work, or are the different armor pieces each for a different ability so you can mix with other pieces of armor?

I have a question that maybe you can assist me on.
Before the change of buttons for the tek Helmet, it was hold or double tap the (E) and I always key bind the map to (R).
Now I can never get the tek helmet to do anything.
I re-key bind the the map so the (R) is not being used but still nothing.
Any idea how to fix this?
It would be nice if you turned off the voice volume because it can be quite hard to hear you when HLNA is talking.

i dont really like starting off with a tek suit.. Lets say youre travelling and you arent prepared all the sudden a pack of raptors come out and attack you, since you werent prepared you died rightfully. But in this dlc you just have a tek suit so instead of dying because you werent prepared you can just double tap the jump button and not even have to worry about it. Its kinda dumb IMO but its still cool i guess

A little annoying that the federation armor has the same armor points as the hide armor, but otherwise it’s pretty cool.
Would be too op if it was regular Tek armor considering it's a free suit
