@@hotshotsthegourmetcoffeee You should try adding chapter markers. I’ve noticed, for myself at least, that I’m much more likely to watch a video if it has chapter markers so I can get to the main topic quicker. And I’ll usually go back and watch a few more videos of the channel if I end up enjoying the content/information. Otherwise with a long video like this I’ll most likely click off immediately if the title topic doesn’t start within a minute or so; happens more often when searching for specific things rather than just browsing.
Keep at it man, I watched the whole thing.
I use juan valdez, and I love it. Taste like home brewed. But the trick I use is I mix a spoon of coffee into an ounce of room temperature water and mix thoroughly. Then I add hot water, them milk or creamer. Mixing it in the room temperature takes the acidity away.
Nice , I do the same. I notice when put the hot water first then it will be to bitter but if put room temp water them taste so good

No country makes coffee like Colombia lol that's why.
One critical factor easily missed is that the water added to the instant coffee should not be at a roiling boil. Add water that is just beginning to boil with small bubbles--around 80 degrees Celsius. If the water is too hot, it burns the coffee and creates an unpleasantly bitter taste. Alternatively, add cold milk first and then add boiling water.
I do instant coffee 😬🙊 as a Nurse (that thanks you for your kind words), I'm always running, work mornings, evenings and double shifts (8, 12 & 16 hrs days) convenience takes away from flavor, when you can have 30 min of extra sleep vs standing somewhere in line or time in your own kitchen. When I do coffee that is not instant I usually do cold brew.
I buy the Nescafe Clasico. I use it only for making my cold mocha late and when I just want a regular cold coffee. I find this easier to mix with 2 oz hot water to melt sugar and coffee then add my other ingredients, milk froth, and ice.
Using this with milk or creamer avoids melting my ice and watering down a good cold coffee or late. Using milk in a cold late also takes the edge off if you taste any bitterness when you want it strong. It also prevents me from going to Starbucks :) for that quick cold mocha or macchiato fix.
NESCAFÉ is the most underrated coffee on the shelf. It’s a great tasting coffee at bargain basement price.
I've been drinking instant Nescafe for ages and I've been buying different ones from time to time just to compare, and I can confirm what you just said.
It's the best selling instant coffee in regards to worldwide sales. I've had it and I liked it.

I drink the Nescafé but I tried the Walmart brand a few times. I’m convinced it’s made by Nescafé for Walmart.
My grandmother was born in the 30s, and my father in the 50s. Both only ever drank instant coffee. Coffee drinking was very uncommon when compared to tea. I'm guessing it's part culture (I'm from Newfoundland), and part necessity, since coffee goes bad so quickly and bringing in fresh coffee to an island in the north Atlantic takes time. I'm also guessing rationing and financial issues played a role too.

Seen a video where you can take iced milk, have a separate cup you put the instant in the cup, as some sugar and add a few teaspoons of boiling water to make a syrup and have a good cup of iced coffee
Use a tablespoon instead of a teaspoon. Changes the aroma and gives it some mouthfeel.
I appreciate this... I just stopped adding sugar and cream and drinking it black... I already use nescafe. I thought drinking it black tastes pretty gross, so thanks for letting me know that this is about as good as its gonna get. I needed this, thx a bunch
But you can get way better, this isn’t the best nor the best that it can get.
Dont care best overall for the money, taste aka bang for buck instant coffee was NESCAFE classico. For me Little condensed milk. Simple but on a couch or pick a place life is GOOD.

About the only time we drank instant coffee, was when we were hunting. It took a while to get it right, but we found out the hotter the water the better the coffee. When it came to a boil, my friend let it boil for a few minutes. It was a lot better when the water was left to boil for a few minutes, instead of pour the water soon as it starts to boil.
Try it different boiling times, and the amount of coffee. Now I seem to drink instant more often too..

Also works great with water from an electric as it boils for a bit before it turns off perfect every time for me. Whatever the brand I just get what’s on sale

I like my coffee black now. The one out the machine at my job tastes amazing whereas my instant coffee at home tastes like dirt. I’ve tried Nescafé, taster’s choice, Folgers… nothing compares. It’s to the point where I’m willing to pick up extra shifts just for the coffee 😫
Buy one of those coffee machines. They last forever. Mine is a Ninja and have had it for years.
Fun fact for anyone that scrolls across this comment, if you use whiskey (presumably all liqueur, but I've only experimented with whiskey) the grounds dissolve instantly without the need for hot water. I mean, you can add it to water after if you want, but for a while when I was doing bar work I'd just do a table spoon of instant and a shot. Good times.

I bought a ninja coffee pot for $100 then really thought….I honestly drink maybe 4-6 cups of coffee a month when I need a boost. It just dehydrates me and makes me feel anxious… so I’m gonna get instant and just make it when I need it opposed to keeping that coffee pot on my counter just for looks… I did by a frother for $20 too when I wanna jazz it up and feel special….lol

I would have liked to see Maxwell House (good to the last drop) taste tested. Folgers is a huge disappointment. I like the flip top and the rich smell, but unfortunately, that doesn't translate into good flavor.

All the instant brands I have tried taste the same to me.
I find some different than others. Haven't found one better than a good ground beans yet tho.

Instant tastes better to me used to always buy the best at the supermarket in ground coffee but it doesn’t hit the same after drinking instant Nescafé Gold 💪🏽

Classy review -- thanks! I so admire the lack of hipster-pretense. People -- it's a caffeine delivery vehicle! If you are getting your major sensory experiences from coffee, you need to get out and meet somebody. If you clean up and are nice to them, they might let your touch them and vice versa.

I can recommend Nescafé toasters choice, I have the French Roast. I have a ton of coffee brought to me straight from Colombia by my in laws, I have instant Juan Valdez which is awesome, grain Juan Valdez, Sello Rojo ground coffee, and Oma ground coffee. I’m a big coffee Guy just like all my shipmates here at STA Golden Gate.
Not sure anything can beat the stale galley coffee after an early watch

Experiment and find what you like best. Try it with sugar, milk, creamer...heck you can even try honey or different kinds of syrup! There really shouldn't be any rules to drinking coffee IMHO. Just do what tastes best for you personally!

Thank you VERY much for this entertaining & informative video. I had never even heard of Juan Valdez Instant Coffee til now. I have tried many brands over the years and liked some better than others. All were passable except for a powdery instant coffee made in Mexico that I bought cheap years ago at a discount grocer. Can't recall the brand name. It was downright nasty.
I enjoy the Nescafe, Legal, Nescafe Cafe De Olla, GV Instant Coffee.
I like De Olla, the cinnamon taste is good.

hot milk with instant is pretty good, but I suggest using maybe 1 tablespoon hot water just to dissolve the instant coffee. I think the protein and fat in the milk (plant and animal) both get in the way of the coffee grains dissolving into solution so it takes much more stirring unless you use a tiny bit of water to dissolve the instant coffee first. Then pile on the milk.
Go to Walmart and get some Nescafe Clasico Columbian in the aisle with Hispanic items. So smooth, fruity, and aromatic. I've tried many instant coffees from Asia, Europe, and the Americas and this is my favorite.
I have not seen that one yet, I am going to go look for it, I love Colombian coffee!

Folgers instant coffee is definitely the dirty motor oil of the coffee world. It tears my stomach up every time. I usually go for Juan Valdez. It’s definitely more flavorful then usual. Mount Hagen Organic Fairtrade Coffee is also really good, although not as readily available. It’s better then the overpriced sticks of Starbucks instant coffee IMO. Cheaper oz per oz too!

Drink Community Coffee brand, Coffee & Chicory, occasionally try other instant, but need my coffee fast, as I have physical limitations. Happy with instant. Add instant to hot water, simply because I heat my water in the microwave.
I remember TV commercials in the early 80s for a instant coffee called "Sunrise" from the makers of Nescafe. The commercials always mentioned that it had a "hint of chickory". Later in talking with my mom, she told me that during the Depression people wold stretch their money by either making a hot beverage from chickory or making their coffee last longer by adding chickory to the grounds.

Probably shouldn't have included the Great Value brand, because it's not made by Walmart. You might have 2 Nescafe Clasico's, or the Great Value might be Maxwell House or someone else's product. It kind of skews the test.
I always get Nescafe. I actually mix it with Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee for the "health benefits" ...

@@hotshotsthegourmetcoffeee It's surprisingly good. It just tastes like normal coffee, while you get an immediate gain of focus. I'm not sure if that's just the caffeine or the lion's mane mushroom kicking in. That's why I blend it because the single packets are just 7 teaspoons worth of coffee otherwise. I add a tablespoon of mct oil to make it a mushroom bulletproof coffee.

The BEST instant coffee is the Bustelo instant packets that TASTE like a GREAT cup of coffee! I use this for mid-day but use Folgers instant daily otherwise, unless I am making a pot of drip sometimes.

Asians drink 3 in 1 Nescafé. We drink instant my wife drinks tasters choice I drink Folgers with one small scoop of raw sugar and cream. Folgers you have to be careful how big your scope is I think you put too much coffee in. Tasters choice Colombian is my back up it's probably better coffee than Folgers but I just like Folgers.

Folgers is good, but you have to get exactly the proper ratio of crystals to water. I think you were off.

I found. A local instant. Coffee from New Orleans. Quite good. Coffee an. Chicory. Ole creole brand. Community. Give it a try .but use 2 tea spoons. Per 8 oz. Much. Better

Moccona by douse eggberts has become expensive and unreliable lately. Not just jar to jar but even cup to cup in the 400 gm jars like it’s stale and end of line dregs cheaply packaged as the standard we had since 80s but lately Moccona bought out new lines that are more expensive….how I ask if the one I. Whinging about was marketed as the best already. I’m back to Robert Timms restaurant brew at half the price.
