Agreed. I am so tired of people telling me that their great grandparent's cousin's sister's roommate's brother-in-law's friend had cancer far worse than what I have.
Exactly, I was diagnosed with leukemia and people just can't understand why I don't want to hear about their cousins uncles brother in law who had it "so much worse". They don't seem to understand comparing the worst time of someone's life to someone else does NOT help at all 🙄
I laughed because they laughed but really felt it when they cried or appeared really hurt as they were reading...no way to go around it, cancer is simply frightening 😞🙏
A friend just recently told me There is nothing we can do. That is God’s Will... Knowing me though, I responded. Wait till you have cancer and repeat that advice to yourself. And see if it doesn’t hurt still. My point, it is better to tell someone who has cancer that you are there to listen to them no matter what and do it. Being a good listener and being there for your sick friend is what truly matters.
I experienced cancer before when I was 22. I recently was dating a man that didn't believe in my story. At the start I didn't know why. Since I'm mentally still healing from all that I survived. He told me to stop lying and that I never had cancer. He told me his aunt died from cancer. But he kept pushing me. Is very hard. I personally had people that died from cancer, I didn't and all that I survived has shaped me into who I am now. I wish he would understand and appreciate me because I fought the hardest fight I could. He is too blind because of what happened with his aunt that he rejects me. Is sad. Any help?
Dump him Many will appreciate n love you for you. Time is to precious to waste with that kind of person. Eliminate negativity out of your world. There are lots of good hearted positive people, look for them.
This video makes it to where there's nothing you can say as several things that were mentioned were positive, supportive things someone who actually cares might say. If people mean well, be graceful about it. Remember, they're not the enemy. Cancer is the enemy. If people are insensitive, then don't be around those ppl anymore. Remember, people show you who they are. ❤
there isn't really a good response to "I have cancer" other than things like "I'm sorry" it's important just to let them know you are there for them. listen and just try to be understanding of all the little struggles that come with having cancer. it's many and that can be a lot to handle for anyone
the thing that pisses me off the most is when people keep saying think positive that pisses me off so bad. I'm going threw the worse time in my life and you keep hownding me to be positive. I mean to me they are saying we are not allowed to be upset pissed or angry and need to cry wew can not be fun and bubbly and thinking positive all the times. And now that i am terminal my family keeps on saying pray to Jesus to heal you. hes still in the miracle business and I'm like I AM TERMINAL accept it. That hurts when they say that, because when I'm not healed and laying in my bed with 24 hours or less of life left in me i will think Jesus didn't heal me so he don't love me and i don't want to die thinking like that. Man some people think they are helping but not thinking it all the way threw. So i wont be here next year at this very time, WOW that hits me to the core
Are you alive? I hope God had mercy & showed you how much he loves you. He died for us to have eternal life with him. To stay faithful in our worst times.
Wow. First day back to work after my diagnosis. I really needed this video. Thank you
ugh people can be so thoughtless - thanks for sharing this
It's always surprised to us what some people say!
It is more like no one gives a shit

The weight loss one is so true. Someone told me I was lucky because I can eat whatever I want.

What are some nice things you could say instead of these?
Let me know what I can do. I am here to listen. I will pray for your healing. Tell me how I can make this time easier on you …

It can be worse. That's so messed up what's the other choice being dead? Damn some people need to use their brain
Not everyone looses weight when they have cancer.
my cancer actually made me gain weight because I was on steroids for so long
