    I filmed this video back in summer. But I have had so many things we have been sharing with you, that it just kept pushing back in the scheduling.
    It is a lovely taste of summer for this time of thecyear. And it is a lovely taste of beef, if you give it a go.
    I don't have a specific recipe to give you for this one. As you will see, I throw the ingredients straight in the dish and adjust to taste.

      Yes I also have boxes that are from earlier in the year.
      However sometimes in winter that hint of summer is needed.
      It makes the cold days and freezing nights seem like there is light at the end of the tunnel.
      I often find my best recipes come from a bit of this and that.

    Wow, looks so good.
    I can't believe that I didn't even know what a solar oven was until I watched your video! 👏

      Thanks a bunch Paul 😀 I love sharing the knowledge on solar cooking. It is so underutilised in Australia.

      @@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus I shared your video with a mate who loves slow cooking and he was amazed.
      Did you make yours or buy it?

      @UrbanBounty awww thanks a bunch for sharing on the info. This one is a bought one called a Sunok Suntaste. I also use a cooker type you can even fry on. Both are purchased and have been great units. I have a few vids on the channel under the solar cooking playlist if your mate is looking for further info. I bought both of mine through a lady here in Aus who runs a small business called WONSO.

      @@Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus thank you, great info.
      I haven't got enough time at the moment to build one so I'm very happy that I can purchase.
      I'm also interested in sending some over to rural Cambodia for a particular village I love.
      Thanks again

    G'day Rachel.
    That looked great. Nice one. Only had lunch 20 minutes ago and I'm hungry again after this.
    All the best.

    At 7:29 I noticed the damage & split of the cork on the top left. I had considered getting one of these, but the damage makes me feel worried about the structural integrity of these. Nice video btw.

      There was an issue with my 1st oven. The mirror was sticking and it weakened this point. I raised it with the person I bought it from and Suntaste replaced the whole thing. I asked if this was something they had seen before and if so if I could do anything to avoid it. But they said they hadn't.

    Amazing food and oven. Wish that the oven would be more affordable (500 € for Germany).

      Wow. I'm suprised being closer to where they are made that they aren't more cost effective there. I had thought our issue was being so far away.

    Hi Rachel, thanks for a great video, love your channel. Which size Sunok have you got? I am looking at the website but not sure which size would be best, many thanks.

    • @Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus
      @Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Andrea, this one is the large size. I personally wouldn't go the smaller one for us. I like that I can fit a full meal like a roast and veg. Or tray of cupcakes.

      Great Rachel thanks for the advice, the larger one was the pick.

    What was the temperature in degrees out side, and how long did you cook. Humble Thanks❤

      I honestly can't recall exactly for that day. But for an idea on times and temps you may find this vid helpful. It is an early one we did, but shows more detail on time and temp on a day.

    Omg this looks amazing…
    Rachel I’m so excited , I received my oven from Wendy 2 days ago… I’m finally going to be home today to try it out, I thought I might just try roasting some potatoes and sweet potatoes.
    I did try some cup cakes the afternoon I got it but didn’t end up with enough time to work 🥴
    How long did you have those ribs cooking ?
    I also went looking for that temp cave yesterday and couldn’t find one and ended up buying one of those laser ones…hope that is ok for now 🤞
    This video was perfect for me today thank you 🙏🏻

    • @Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus
      @Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awwwww... That's so exciting to hear 😀 I have found it such a great oven and Wendy was just so helpful (where I had gone through issues with another company on a different oven. So dealing with her after that was such a relief).
      From memory, I got that little oven temp gauge from Kitchen Warehouse. But I would be keen to hear how you go with the laser one. You may have noticed the gauge fell over in the later part of the vid, from moving the oven around. Your laser option would be good to avoid that 😀
      Happy cooking!

      @Bush_Edge_Homesteading_Aus  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I will let you know how the laser goes for sure 👍
      Yes definitely recommend Wendy she was great to deal with, thank you so much for sharing ❣️
      Awesome 5hrs, they look delicious 😋

      I wish I was that skilled!!! This one is called a Suntaste SunOk. I run a a solar cooker too which I can even fry on. Solar cooking is pretty awesome, but so underutilised in Australia.
