    Thank you for showing sour dough bread in the Sun Oven. I was gonna attempt it, but thought I’ll look to see if someone already did it. And yep, 👍 you did! Very cool 😎
    I been working on my sour dough starter and this will be my first attempt at making the bread also. I ❤️ my American Sun Oven. Why not cook for free. 😁 Thanks again!

    Your accent must be New Jersey. I made corn bread in my sun oven today. It turned out great. BTW...we're all Jewishy. We are all descendants of the 12 tribes. I'm going to send your site around the horn. Thanks for the video.

    Can you use parchment paper in the pan to prevent sticking?

    Great video! like your attitude.. Have you tried any other solar cookers? which do you like the best?

      I've only used the Sun Oven so far. One of my friends loves the Go Sun solar cooker, and I'd really like one of those to complement my Sun Oven. How about you?

      @@cookjewishy1182 I am trying to decide between the Sun Oven and GoSun. I live up north so need to use it in the winter.. Do you know if the Sun Oven works in the Winter for northern climates?

    • @cookjewishy1182
      @cookjewishy1182  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@marksTips466 My experience in winter time is that you simply have less of the day available. The Sun Oven will only get to a temp above 300F and stay there if the sun is consistent (no clouds) and somewhat high in the sky.

    Does the build up condensation give any problems?

      no, sometimes i just wipe it off quickly with a towel to make sure the sunlight can still get in

    Would the bread have gotten more color if you left it in longer?

    Lovely! If you use a razor to score the loaf, it cuts very smooth!

    How long does it take to cook the bread?

    • @cookjewishy1182
      @cookjewishy1182  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That can depend upon several things. In my regular oven, maybe about 30-35 minutes; in the sun oven, longer. Temperature, not time, is the most reliable way to know when it's done. Most bread recipes I've read recommend an internal temperature of about 190F.

    Just curious... Did you grease the pot for your bread? I used my sun oven today for whole wheat bread but I always use Pam in the loaf pans.

    • @cookjewishy1182
      @cookjewishy1182  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, definitely grease or it is super hard to get out! I actually butter and flour my pan for the sun oven. For a conventional oven at a high temperature bake it's much less of an issue and the bread releases easily.

    That bread was raw, no browning

      No, the bread was fully cooked, as the thermometer shows.
