If everything is read correctly as you stated it could be one or two things that you mentioned. 1) Fuel pump may need to be replaced if you don’t hear it. 2) if fuel gauge is out you may need to check your wiring as well as perhaps check the floater on the assembly to see if it’s warped and orientation is positioned correctly to read fuel within the fuel tank when it’s seated. However as mentioned after performing this test, the issue was that I was really low on fuel so I filled up the gas tank and the readings came back on with no issues. So it could simply be that youre low on fuel but I highly recommend you have a mechanic troubleshoot these issues if it still persists.
Hi so I was actually very low on fuel. I filled up the tank and had no issues and fuel reading was working properly. If you’re having issues make sure your floater is working properly as well.
I’m not sure if it will cause a no start issue but if the floater isn’t functioning properly it can give an improper reading on your fuel gauge. So realistically if the floater is compromised and can’t “float” accordingly to give you fuel reading then eventually you will be out of fuel and your car won’t start. But IF the floater is freely functioning within the fuel pump assembly with no issues then it is your Fuel Sender Unit. HOWEVER* Here’s an Update* So I did fill up the gas tank recently and assuming that my fuel sender was bad it was actually working properly. I was just low on fuel. So make sure to fill up your tank first and check the fuel gauge after. If it’s not showing an updated fuel reading then it’s your fuel sender unit for sure.
Will you need to replace the fuel assembly if everything is reading correctly but you don’t hear the pump and fuel gauge is out

If the floater is binding up on something it can cause a no start? Does it short it out?
