Nice to see the tutorial version. From what I see on the Wiki, the Fresh Moose Hide will decay at 2.857%/Day. Will it still be there after it reaches 0? Will it only disappear if it's in a container? They stop decaying after they've cured, though. Not trying to rain on the parade, just popped into my mind so thought I'd ask as you know this game so well.
It won't disappear( I did think of that!) and I'm pretty sure it doesn't change appearance(although a recent update changed the appearance of meat as it starts to ruin.)
Yes, pleease! That would be so nice - even better it would be if you could built your own custumizable hut in the endgame! But I don't think they will this kind of stuff.
7:46 😂 lol I was watching this while playing walking in fog trough forest and I hear wolves and I freaked out a bit until I understood that audio is from Your video
Yes, the skillet collision was discovered by someone on reddit who initially used it as a cannery shortcut. I already found a cannery shortcut where you just run across, but I think the skillet makes it much more reliable. One of the things I discovered during testing is that you can even make a skillet bridge, but it's an incredibly grindy and painstaking process(you can't place each skillet precisely, only drop them.) You're susceptible to the drop radius RNG and you can also only make a bridge in certain directions(because of the default rotation of the skillet on each map.) There will definitely be crazy shortcuts with skillet bridges but it will take time and patience to find and test them :)
But if the hide isn't cured, won't it eventually decay to nothing ? Anyway, since I saw a video of a torch throw through the hole to avoid wind, I won't fix it ! And I love the starry nights view too.
You can still throw the torch through the hole ala Zaknafein, it will pass right through! No more stargazing through the roof though :( Yes, the hide will decay to 0% but it won't go anywhere.
Yeah they shouldn't despawn in place(nothing does except carcasses and meat bags I think) but I'm hoping they don't discolor(a recent update caused ruined meat to change appearance.) I really should have tested it.
No, but the hole doesn't lower the insulation in the first place, the mountaineers hut has a standard "open building" temp preset. One thing about this is that you can't read at night anymore afaik. Because it does block light. Small price to pay for cozyness
@@Wilma5532 It won't prevent reading/crafting. The game doesn't raytrace light from the moon/stars any more than it does complex insulation calculations based on holes in the roof :)
Like I responded to another commenter, there is no vertical jump here, we are just crossing a horizontal gap. Edited to be less snippy(I just woke up.) :D

i really thought they addes some cool repair shit to make homes fell more homely and unique to you, nope just crackhead fix with the power of a led a skillet and multiple large hides
It's not legal to "place" the skillets onto the glitched-collision-skillets so this isn't really practical. You can still kind of do it by standing on top and repeatedly dropping a skillet until it falls in exactly the right place, then lock it in and continue. But this limits your direction of travel to the default item rotation for that map, which doesn't happen to align with the direction needed here. I think it might be possible to build a "skillet staircase" from the other side(using this default direction) but it would take a lot of patience(and skillets.)
@@ArchimedesLP Well cheer up apparrently there is a new update coming with customizable interiors. I play in console so is great to be able to change stuff in the game without having to mod it.
