Dude, this was a life saver! Thanks. I've had so many problems because I've recorded tons of tracks and saved them in Apple Cloud (because I thought this was a smart back up) only to be told by Avid not to do this. So many unlinked tracks I can't seem to get back. Not sure if this was related, but I pulled one song out of Apple cloud and received this Disk error. Just remapped as per your video to my hard drive and it worked. Appreciate it!

Sometimes when your storage gets full, the cloud may even DELETE files to make room for more space. So always use an external hard drive or your native hard drive! Hi, it’s a rather odd thing that happened to me recently as well because I’ve been recording on ProTools for years and just recently starting having these issues. I’m not sure if it’s a bug related to updates. I did some research and some are also stating that after you exceed a certain amount of tracks, that it will switch hard drives to improve performance? Not sure really, but it’s seems that all of us are confused as to why lol.

Hey im haveing a similar problem but i cant save the file, just got a new desktop and transferred my files over using a share file, now i try and save and it says i dont have the permission
Hey I’m sorry you’re having issues. Check your hard drive and see the permissions that it has. You can do that by right clicking on your actual hard drive and go to “properties”. It should show the permissions that it has. If it’s “read only”, you won’t be able to save anything at all to it. If it says “Read & Write” you can view files and save files as well. Check on that first and then if it says “read & write”, we can check and see if it’s ProTools having the issue.

Hi, the “My Book” option is my external hard drive that I use therefore you won’t be able to find this option. Are you still having trouble recording? If you can, always make it a priority to use an external hard drive.
