I'm no expert on these, but first and foremost, that switch you show around 2:05 should be in the "OPER" position to operate. #2, the record basket should always reset to the home position after every selection and it's clearly not doing that. I think it's tripping the breaker because the Write In/Read Out mech is not synchronized where it should be and is probably causing the wrong circuits to energize. Thirdly, if the gripper arm is over the platter, the mechanism "thinks" there is already a record playing. The gripper arm should be over the basket home position when nothing has been selected for play. So, you have a lot of work to do. There should be a knob on the bottom of the motor. Start turning it until you get the cycle to reset. Basket at Home position, Gripper arm over basket, no write in/read out pins tripped and the cycle sync control on the back of the unit is where it should be. Once you get all that done, provided all the contacts are clean, it should work.
that little bitty wheel need to go in with the big wheel which will cause the gripper arm to pull it up over the carosel of records then the carriage will spingo thru your pin bank and flip the pin selected back to unselected & that light that flashes in the breaker board is normal there is a light bulb in there not sure as to why you only get one credit because mine was on freeplay and when I tried to switch it back to coin operation I had no luck also the gripper arm might be slightly frozen and need regreasing but you know until you put those two gears together to find out I hope this helps
would you mind me asking please how you managed to free the arm selector and free the carriage. and also syop it from trilpping. also the record selector pins fo they have to be in a set position. i have exactly all the same faults as you had. thank you in advance. kind regards
Drop the gripper motor and choose B side first. Turn the gripper gear by hand and see if it moves the gripoer. Check the A B switch. I had the rod that goes down to the A B arm clip had broke off so the mech was not able to move. Also this will happen with the scan function
I’m pretty sure this is a bit late and the jb is gone now. But it appears it’s out of time, look at another video it’s supposed to roll the carousel before rolling the pin setter. Check / redo the timing, it’s done from a mode switch in the front of the machine, you don’t show that in the video. I worked on one recentlyish and it was out of time and a poor micro switch in the pinsetter.
the gear with the screw were that rod comes in needs to be taken loos this will allow you to pull griper arm up and down its stuk the rod works the tone arm were are you located
Try to loosen the screws from the gripper motor and turn manualy the gripper arm back to its rest position ; that is with the gripper arm over the record carrousel
Then make a selection ( you can trip a selector pin by hand on the right side of the wheel ) ; the magazine should rotate to the selection ; then stop and the magazine motor should start ...try this first
I have found the problem. The gripper mechanism was gummed up and would not move. I have taken it out and freed it up. Just have to reinstall it now. Thanks
Would anyone have advice for my 470, it seems to have lost power to the scan function, the turn table spins but doesn’t output any sound, I have no clue where to look or begin.
Was in normal use, once a week or more. Or had it been sitting for a while? Does it go through the motion of taking credit and making a selection. Need more info.
So the turntable actually lifts off where the record sits, under there your gonna find a rubber wheel that spins the turntable and a motor spindle, you will see there are three different settings, one small, one medium, one big on that shaft of the motor, you want to adjust it so your on the medium setting of the shaft which is right in the middle of the shaft, that will in turn, play at a 45 rpm speed
Also on that motor there are three rubber grommets and over time they can get brittle, if yours look kind of bad you might want to replace the grommets first then it’ll be good for years to come
It was several things but I got it running. The main things were the gripper gears had dried up and I had to take them apart, clean, oi;, and reassemble. Next major issue was one of the micro switches on the cam that is powered by the gripper, was bad.
I also cleaned all of the contacts everywhere I could find any. One big thing I forgot about. I replaced the pin bank. The mechanism that helps the write in arm set the pin was not working. The helper solenoid was working but the mechanism in the bank was not.
You will have to cancel the selection that's currently playing before you can make any other selections Also it needs a deep deep cleaning motors regreased and cleaned The write in motor is very slow
Take the outer gear off there's a screw that holds it you'll have a shaft with a flat spot lubricated with PB Blaster let it sit for a while and grab that and start working it back and forth to get the gripper on loosened up you can use a pliers but be very careful not to damage what you're working with
Hi I have tge exact same problem on a recond rockola princess Which is the outer gear? I have not been able to use it for 4 years and can't find a local repairer.

Make sure micro switch is in right position
It's fixed now. One of the problems was that it had a bad micro switch. I replaced it.
did you ever get your jukebox fixed?

The flash is supposed to happen, and if you wind the gripper motor as you did with the carriage the tonearm will move
My 474 is playing at 33 speed how do I get it to 45 speed

Hi there. I'm having a similar issue with my rockola 460. Did you find a solution??

Thanks. I have everything working now. The gripper arm was the first of many problems! I worked through them all.

That gripper arm needs to be completely lubricated and made to turn that's why it will not go up over the record basket it's frozen
nice
pull out and turn back to left
Grease the gripper arm mechanism!
thats why its tripping
