+CrashBoxNat What is fascinating is that one of those was Tuvok from Voyager and another was the Spock from the timeline where Vulcan was destroyed. Does that make it three times as fascinating?
I remember a commercial for Gilligan's Island that was close to how this clip is made. Many snippets of each character saying/yelling his name, it still sounds odd after 30 years (the commercial was promoting it in syndication).
I heard Leonard Nimoy was not too happy being type casted as Spock, yet millions were and are thankful to him for portraying a character so well which allows us to explore our emotions, lack of emotions and our lives. Fascinating.
It's not a logical contradiction except if you view it as a strictly logical statement.. He is spock, and he's not spock. One interpretation is that he is the character spock, he has influenced it etc etc. But he isn't spock in that spock is just a part of him and not the whole. Or to express it as a logical statement Nimoy>Spock.

I don't know how long it took you to put this together but I am glad that you did. It must have taken you a long time to do it and I am sure that all the Star Trek fan's through out the Universe will be better off after watching your tribute to Mr Spoke!
то чувство, когда я русская, и с английским у меня более чем плохо, но я поставила лайк этому видио, потому что Спок, говорящий одну и туже фразу в этой нарезке просто восхитителен
I give you a billion stars for your editing on this video. It cracked me up while paying hommage to the man and the word that make watching Star Trek so much fun and that scene at the end when McCoy asks him to refrain from saying saying "fascinating" was hilarious. Excellent video!!! Good Job!!!
Thank you so much for this. I had seen it before, but today I want it to be the video clip to give my tribute, because Leonard Nimoy was fascinating. Thank you for being my after school friend when I was growing up in Toronto. RIP
I've pondered this over the years - granted I'm not much of a Trekkie but my understanding is that this is Spock's response mostly to emotional reactions or to social things. I see this as relatable to those who have Autism or Aspergers, which Spock is commonly compared to, and how they (myself included) see the world, other people, and even themselves. "Normal" (neurotypical) people sort of take such things for granted, it's all normal to them. While for those with Aspergers/Autism these things aren't as inherently normal, leading to them pondering these things, trying to understand them, why they are the way they are, how they work, often seeing it as quite interesting - or in Spock's words, Fascinating, to try to make sense of. I always think Autistic people would be the best anthropologists as they question and ponder what others never even think about - I'd argue that Autistics living in normal society effectively are anthropologists just in their daily lives.
While making my way through the entirety of TOS, I wondered if there'd be a compilation of Spock saying "fascinating" somewhere on TH-cam and resolved to look it up when I had finished the series. I was not disappointed.
Mr. Spock will always be a fascinating and interesting Star Trek character of all time, his legacy will live long and prosper. Rest in peace Leonard Nimoy.
Omg it's like it's not even a word any more. By the end all I heard was fast knitting so thank you tumblr. And the last clip was the perfect ending. Bones and Spock are perfect. I love them
me, a star trek fan listening to my star wars fan friends attempt to explain the lore and timeline of the movies and tv shows as i watch the man-dad-lorian and baby yoda do their funky little thing
Leonard Nimoy is sooo handsome. I went to a Star Trek convention last August and he was one of the speakers. When I went to get my autograph... I told him that I loved him!
"You are a disembodied brain!"
"...fascinating."
I love how incredibly chill Spock is. I aspire to be like him.
Fascinating ... But quite impossible. 0:32
I tried but my emotions got in the way
He annoyed bones to no end with love.
@@marialanier6155 True, that's definitely the hardest part. Spock makes it look so easy!
Would a Zen Master be the closest real-world equivalent?
Three things:
1. Fast knitting.
2. The shot of Tuvok stuck into the middle cracks me up every time.
3. McCoy epic eye roll at the end.
McCoy completely steals the show with the best eye roll in history!
Agreed
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Oh hell, I walked right into that one, didn't I?"
Ah, Spock! Such a troll. "No, but it is....interesting."
Ray Singh - (raises eyebrow) and logical captain
Ray Singh fascinating
Well, shit! You told him not to say fascinating-what do you want from the man?
McCoy's reaction was priceless.
@@Maximillian200HP"Oh hell, I walked right into that one, didn't I?"
What a fascinating montage.
+CrashBoxNat What is fascinating is that one of those was Tuvok from Voyager and another was the Spock from the timeline where Vulcan was destroyed. Does that make it three times as fascinating?
I wonder why Data wasn't included in this. He also uttered the word at least once.
Man by the middle of this video fascinating doesn't even sound like a word anymore.
+Jeepgirl173 Semantic satiation is truly...fascinating.
Fast-i-netting?
I was actually thinking the exact same thing
fast knitting
I remember a commercial for Gilligan's Island that was close to how this clip is made. Many snippets of each character saying/yelling his name, it still sounds odd after 30 years (the commercial was promoting it in syndication).
He said that word 47 times, Fascinating.
At least 47, if not more.
I heard Leonard Nimoy was not too happy being type casted as Spock, yet millions were and are thankful to him for portraying a character so well which allows us to explore our emotions, lack of emotions and our lives. Fascinating.
He wrote two biographies, "I am Spock" and "I am Not Spock",
which together form a logical contradiction.
"Nimoy contains Spock" is most logical, I think.
+Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨Ʒ Infinite diversity in infinite combinations, and all things in the universe combined to make existence and life both meaningful, and worthwhile.
That’s fascinating.
somewhere an android is shutting down
Fast knitting? Who's knitting so damn fast?!
That's what I heard too X'D
LMAO I can’t I hear it
"Fascinating."
"He's dead Jim."
"Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor not a ________!"
actor.
"He's dead Jim."
"Fascinating!"
Is death Fascinating? LOL
fascinating
fast netting
+MrSwadloon I will never forgive you for this.
fUCK
That should be the name of an internet service provider.
I hear "fast knitting." The word has lost all meaning.
1:29 Poor Bones is like "I really walked into that one, didn't I?" :D
It served him right,
@UncleMikeNJ Legendary reply
@UncleMikeNJ🤣😭
It's only logical. Fascinating is a fascinating word.
Rest In Piece Mr. Spock aka Leonard Nimoy. May you boldly go were no man has gone before
I think many ( most? ) men and women have gone there.
Live long and prosper , sir.
Live long and prosper leonard nimoy..

"No but it is interesting" lol XD
"Oh lord kill me know" was that look.
I love how McCoy just rolls his eyes in the last clip. One of the best TOS clips ever! lol
RIP you were a fascinating person
I love you for including the last bit with Bones lol. The back and forth between Bones and Spock, is just............Fascinating.
Spock: *saying interesting*
Me watching this: "Interesting."
May we all live long and prosper.
Forty-one non-trekkers disliked this video. How *fascinating*.
We can't see the dislike anymore!!! Omgggggg
it is illogical to dislike star trek videos of any kind

R.I.P Nimoy. You fought long and hard. You will be remembered for all eternity.

That word sounds so weird now
Fas-in-ating

After hearing Spock saying the word "fascinating" so many times, it no longer resembling a word to me any more, but merely a sound. How fascinating!
FAST NEDDY

I take a sip of water every time he says fascinating, it keeps me hydrated!

This video is truly... Fascinating. May you live long and Prosper, Leonard Nimoy. Rest In Piece x
As a LONG-Time ST fan.......THANK YOU!!!
This is one of the best fan-based tributes to Star Trek that I've seen!!
I love how he says it so bluntly. Like he's neither excited nor bored.
Unlike "Beam me up, Scotty," Spock actually did say "Fascinating" in multiple episodes. And here's the proof.
FAST-KNITTING!
The closing dialogue with DeKelley was a perfect ending to a (shall we say) most interesting pair.
That is exactly me! I use to say, "interesting" all the time, but then I started saying, "fascinating." And I've never seen Star Treck!
Fast Knitting....fascinating.
Omg the last one :"DD
Top tier work, me boyo. Ruff n rugged. Much needed. Hatz off to ya, matey!!
STRAIGHT Mcvenison metal!
"Do me a favor, Spock, and don't say it's fascinating."
"No, but it is... interesting."
McCoy: "Oh hell, I walked right into that one, didn't I?"
Spock, you're remarkable. You have intelligence, you have perception, you have great tenacity. You've got everything except synonyms for fascinating.
Starts to lose its meaning after a while.
lol! McCoy rolled his eyes! Priceless :)
this was a very fascinating video. great job
