Our Building Contractor installed this lock and said the handle just needed to be lifted up instead of pulled down. It was just the way they made it. Thanks fo much Schlage for this to the point tutorial. I was able to adjust the lock in a few minutes. It now works great. Unlike the Building Contractor. LOL.

Thanks for video. Painted door, replaced knob and had this problem! Very frustrating, hubby took it apart 4 times and couldnt figure out issue. I hope this solves it tomorrow!

Is there a way to adjust the play in the lever. I have to push so far down to get it open that I keep running into it. Is there a way to shorten the play so I doesn't have go down almost 90 degrees to open?

My lock inside lever handle doesn't come with 2 screws to hold it in place ,does anyone know how to remove this handle?

The lock is sold separately. I know, and they're overpriced.

SCHLAGE used to manufacture handle grips that had an integrated lock, but they discontinued it.

I am unable to remove the interior lever assembly as instructed in the video. The lever assembly can't simply be pulled to remove. Please help.

Press down the on the thumb latch on the outside and wiggle the lever on the inside and it should pull apart easily

I had to refinish my door and had this problem after re installation of the knob. I followed the instructions and was not able to fix the problem.

The big question here is, WHY does it need to be repositioned in the first place? It keeps happening over and over again. It's not like mine is a publicly used door with a ton of traffic. Super frustrating.
