thank you the video was very helpful and informative to me because it's was the first time I was installing a Kwick-set locking system on my sisters front door.
Very straightforward and another step right before adding the new hardware is if you need to paint the inside and or outside of the door, doing it with no hardware on the door is the easiest fastest way to get that done with no masking needed.

Very helpful. I would also suggest for a full remodel considering sanding priming and repainting a front wood door. Also, use a 1/4 inch roller max when priming and painting.

Great video. I'm very impressed with your method of work. I'm watching your video because I need to do the opposite. My new door knob set is a lever style and no longer needs the hole that was drilled to address the bottom of the outdoor handle. I hope I was able to make that clear. I need to put some sort of plug or decorative cover over the hole that now exists but is no longer required. Thanks for any help you can provide.
You could get another one of those decorative round covers she’s using if you could find one and put it on the outside. To secure them, you could glue them both to the door (one on the outside and one on the inside). 👍😃

Thank you for sharing this. This is my concern about going from rounded to squared door lock ( dont know what its called): The square plate does not completely cover the pre-drilled hole.
Hmm then you may want to reconsider the new door handle or find a way to to plug it keeping in mind with an exterior door you'll want to consider the elements and insulation.

I touched up the paint around the new handleset using a Behr Marquee paint

what's the distance between the center of 2 screws on the handle?
I noticed the handleset didn't completely cover the original doorknob hole. How do you remedy that?
How did you fix the painting around the handle without getting paint on your knob? Did you ever fix it?
oh yes. I had to remove the handle and use a tiny paint brush.
When you put the paper to trace 0:47 what do you line it up with that step was lil too fast over so i didnt understand it

I believe you put your lock on backwards, the part that latches into the door is supposed to go flat side out so that no one can break into your house using a card, and your case you put it on with the curved side out meeting someone can break into your home easily by popping the lock using a card.

Suggestion. For those of us a little on the inexperienced side, would you explain a little more how to set up the template. I’m struggling. Lol! Also, my handle seems to be opposite of my latch, can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong.
Oh if you'd like I can provide a little guidance. Can you send me a picture on Facebook @toolboxdivas of the template. Some locks can be adjusted for right or left handed usage.

The hole for the bottom spindle of the handle set just magically appeared
Um I just bought a kwickset door know and handle set but I am having issues installing it
The bottom latch is not being secured once the door is closed

I was updating a previously installed Kwikset doorknob so the strike plate was the same and didn't require being changed. But I covered placing a strike plate in a different post. If you need assiatance replacing the strike plate let me know and I can guide you through it.

I didn't skip any steps. There are many ways to get things done around the house. Home improvement is more of a practice of sorts. As long as the principles are applied you can basically do almost anything.
