  • This video will cover the fundamentals of Identity and Access Management (IAM) in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) is an AWS service that ensures the security of AWS resources and regulates access to compute, storage, database, and application services.
Simply put, IAM controls who accesses what on the AWS account!
IAM can grant/deny broad access to entire services, such as S3, or to a specific bucket within S3.
IAM also allows the auditing of AWS resources using CloudTrail.
IAM controls who is authenticated (signed in) and authorized (has permissions) to use resources.
If you sign in to AWS for the first time with your username and password, an AWS account root user is used.
    Thanks,
    Ryan
