  • #Yamaha #RN2000A Network Receiver Introducing #Unboxed a modern Hi-Fi component, effortlessly amalgamating the new generation of music listening such as high-resolution music streaming, with time-honoured Hi-Fi quality. Drawing on Yamaha’s unmatched history in music and acclaimed Hi-Fi products, the R-N2000A will transform your living room into a space with breathtakingly beautiful sound.
    True Sound
This is sound that only Yamaha can realise as the only audio brand in the world that handles everything from the moment a sound is created to the time it reaches the human ear. Simply close your eyes and feel the artist performing right there in front of you, and experience the profound sensation of being truly ‘Closer to the Artist.’
    YPAO(Yamaha Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer)
Environmental factors play an important role in the sonic signature of a room, and with any type of audio. Yamaha’s own YPAO™ automatic calibration technique, refined over decades of use in Home Theatre products, has been optimised for the R-N2000A to deliver the ideal listening environment, as if you were in a professional audio listening room - without requiring any laborious manual setting adjustments.
YPAO features precision EQ, which performs exceptionally high precision equalization with accuracy of up to 192 kHz / 64-bit audio resolution. YPAO™ R.S.C. (Reflected Sound Control) works in tandem to actively control the important early reflection sounds, automatically adjusting and optimising how the sound is heard in your room, depending on the materials of the walls and the speaker placement. Which means you can enjoy the profound sound and immersive feeling unique to Hi-Fi audio - right in your own living room.
    Toroidal Transformer
Usually reserved for flagship Hi-Fi components, the R-N2000A benefits from the technical proficiency and absolute musicality of a toroidal transformer. Combined with an array of high-end Hi-Fi features and components, the toroidal transformer assists in ensuring the musical emotion is conveyed to the listener.
    High Performance DAC
In pursuit of clear, transparent sound field reproduction while delivering rich and fully detailed level of musicality,
they have adopted the state of the art ES9026PRO digital-to-analog converter from ESS Technologies.
    Low Impedance Concept
In order to thoroughly eliminate energy loss and degradation of the audio signal, the R-N2000A features thick wires for
the ground connection a critical feature that establishes the componentry as being truly premium Hi-Fi.
    Mechanical Ground Concept
Just as with the Yamaha Hi-Fi flagship model, the R-N2000A employs the mechanical ground concept. The concept begins with the bolts of the feet welded directly to the main chassis, and continues with the large heat sink, power transformer and block capacitors also directly bolted to the chassis.
    Floating and Balanced Power Amplifier
Equipped with Yamaha's original amplifier technology, the power amplifier circuitry including the power supply is completely independent from the ground, and the influence of minute voltage fluctuations and external ground noise is completely eliminated.
    MusicCast
The R-N2000A is equipped with Yamaha's original MusicCast network system. Moreover, it is compatible with a variety of streaming services such as Tidal and Spotify, letting you fully enjoy exceptionally high-quality sound unique to today’s high-resolution and lossless sound sources, with complete fidelity.

As the owner of both the R-N803 and an NAD M10v2, I have to say that the 2000a is miles beyond. I just finished setting it up and, for the first time in a long while, I am able to leave the bass at neutral. The Wharfedale Lintons sound very different than on the other two. For once, I get it! They are indeed laid back, just not on the other two amps. This amp has room to grow for sure. I've heard about the "Yamaha sound", but the way describe it, that sound is forward in the upper midrange and lower treble. Well, this amp must buck that trend - it sound powerful and warmish, though detail is not lost. It's a keeper!
Oh, and damn, this thing is heavy! Not McIntosh heavy, but it's not far behind.
Keep up the great work! I don't know how you do it all without a script or edits. You are a natural, sir. 🤩

@@drazenbabich and, not surprisingly, is rated *lower* in output power than *both* the new N1000 and N800. WTH, Yamaha? How can this $4k receiver be lower in power than the two cheaper versions? Man, they got have got to spell out exactly what makes this unit special and that tidbit does not help at all. I can attest that it sounds much more powerful than my n803, which is actually rated the same. Sigh.

You, take it to another, passive agressive, strangely creepy level. I mean, I know it's "just" a power cable or basic microphone but what's wrong with just placing it under the table, out of shot? @@TLPCHC I have purchased finally a RN 2000A as well. In my unit, the rotary know does not enter the menus as described in the manual. In the manual it says "SELECT (PUSH-ENTER). Used for things like operating the menus on the front display. Turn this to select an item, and press it to confirm the selection." But the know does not do that. If I am on Optical 1 for example, if I rotate/click it does nothing. Is that OK? Shouldn't it go to the menus, like when pressing the remote menu button?

@@sosojerk Inputs like optical won't have a menu tree to navigate via the front rotary dial, whereas a streaming source like net radio will allow you to delve into the folder structure to find favourites, high quality channels etc. There is no menu button on the remote control... do you mean the option or setup button? They're different buttons all together and have different levels of functionality than the dial on the front of your receiver.

    • @billd9667
      @billd9667 ปีที่แล้ว

@@sosojerk It works the same as the R-N803. It's strictly for scrolling through tuner presets, tuning and a few select features. The setup needs to be done with the remote. BTW, should you lose the display of what's playing, press the Now Playing button on the remote.
Yamaha needs to work a bit harder on ergonomics and update their app so that you can see album art and implement a search function for the network share.
They missed on a few things - Bluetooth 5.2 is available, yet they are still on 4.6. WiFi 6 was passed over too. There are no line outs either. Those are just annoyances compared to not including a USB storage port. That was a huge swing and a miss. Thank God it's an awesome amp. I'm listening to Linn Radio on it right now and it has real gravitas. Can't wait to try YPAO tomorrow.
