Watching the USA women’s and men’s team are vastly different in talent. The women’s just killing it with such a deep bench whereas the men are struggling(even though they have injuries).
Men are ranked 3rd in the world and seem to be more interested in giving bubble players chance to play than win at the vnl. They've lost to the best teams that are using mostly starters (Leal, Kliuka, Mikhaylov, Kurek, Leon, etc )while the US has a mixed squad with mostly younger hitters. Will be worth it if Patch can somehow peak as a hitter before Tokyo. Wouldn't press the panic button just yet. US women are kind of doing the same but their are dominant enough to still win.
At least the US men's volley team is very decent. The US men's national soccer team, at the coaching & managerial levels... it really is a embarrassment... I've been playing and watching soccer since we arrived in San Diego in the late 1970s, me as a boy who loved soccer who didn't see any black or white boy, then, caring about soccer... anyway, the American men's soccer is a joke.
I have no idea why they let go of head coach Jurgen Klinsmann, the former German striker who did a very good job. Losing a few games should NOT have allowed non-playing officials to fire the head coach like that. There was EVEN A LONG TERM CONTRACT (of 8 years or more) and you have that for that very reason: that some bone headed manager/higher up, who have no idea about soccer or any other elite sports... was going to do something idiotic like that!
It should have been a LONG TERM VISION and Klinsmann should have been empowered to build the national team and the youth teams (under 21 and under 18) slowly over many years!
America doesn't lack in good athletes in soccer or infrastructure: in fact, we have the best in everything; it just lacks the knowledgeable coaching system that has both a long term vision and a deeper understanding of the sport of soccer like South American and European coaching and managerial staffs.
The decision making of the setter is sooooooooooo amazing but drews is a superb player. Congrats team USA... From the philippines. :)

Hard choice now for Coaching staff on which setters will be going to the Olympics. Hancock played superbly here. Each setter brings something different to the team.

Hancock will most likely be one of the setters
It'll be Carlini, the battle is for backup. She is amazing now and going to be the best setter the US ever produced if she gets to her full potential.
@@burkeharris9699 Thought the same, Hancock is more consistent and has a deadlier serve while Poulter is a bit more playful so less unpredictable but more prone to errors.
My choice would be Carlini and Hancock. Hancock has a great connection with the middles.

They always had a chance...the coach is old school and stubborn and needs to take some risks....I don't see why he couldn't put one of the taller , younger and fresher players in instead of Michelle bartsch ; she doesn't do anything for me.

This is the US's to lose at this point especially with China playing the whole thing with their b squad. Only Turkey, Brazil, and Serbia have a shot from what i have seen.

micah hancocks serve is whats keeping her in this team right now because usa works definetly better with carlini... her back sets are waaay too predictable
yeah her outside sets are very inconsistent too. I love her determination and energy on the court though.

What position would she play. She's good all around but the US has at least tow players at every position that are better is their role except maybe libero.

Micah Hancock is amazing here ,very difficult to choose the setters all they 3 of USA setter was fantastic three! Micah has a jump serve and that was help team so many times! In the other side the outside hitter and opposite also was a lot of choices Kelsey, Hill,Larson,Thompson,Drew's, Pearson ,MBH all they are on top form, the same with middle blockers Chiaka,Foluke, Hanna Tapp, tetori..the US is better and better as team now...so hard for kiraly choose his team for olympic

Yuh, basing on her season in Italy and in cev she's probably even better than Robinson statistically....maybe she chose not to participate or she's not invited...but I hope can play for the USAWV
@@thegreatcritic8231 with Robinson’s form now, I don’t agree Adams is better. Kelsey is an all around player and very wise. Adams is power though and she can also dig but not as good as Kelsey. Just my opinion too.
@@ramirtorreces9017 I agree with you, but what I mean is on the cev and their respective club teams alone...Adams played in Serie A1 and cev while Robinson played in China, Turkey and Cev....basing on their stats on those leagues Adams performed better....mainly because Robinson joined fenerbache late as she just played in china...but "as of now"....Robinson is the better player...you get my point? Haha

That's to bold for a prediction...remember volleyball is a ball game...if every team is strong it all boils down to experience and who wanted it more...As I remember in Rio Usa lacks a realiable and strong opposite..Murphy was owned by the Serbians on the semi finals...now It Think they will do better against China, Serbia, Italy....in tokyo favorites to win gold should be out of the equation because in rio no one even expected china to bag gold because of the loses they have in the pool rounds yet they won...so its everyones gold until games are played...

Check out for example the views where Japan is playing (the most famous teams in Asia) and you'll see they have twice, three times the total views of games featuring american or european countries

we have no idea how those teams are because they are not playing....With covid and the lack of experience you would think they would take the opportunity to see how they match up against the other contenders but no...in the end I think this will help USA , turkey, and brazil over these other teams (though I'm not sure for brazil because even with their A team they lose to china's B team).

Alli stumler? shes still in college...look at who is on the bench, parsons who graduated years ago and Plummer who is playing well right now and has had 3 national championships; this coach is old school and doesn't like change apparently...why michelle-bartsch is still on the Olympic team is beyond me
