Great stuff! My favorite shaky head is the Spot Remover with the larger hook size and the screw lock instead of the nail, seems to catch those ones that barely have it. Awesome bait to drag across points.
I like the Owner shakey ultraheads for typical thin finesse worms, or Owner stick bait shakey heads for beavers, craws or thicker worms that need more of a wider gap hook
I have gone through my fair share of shacky heads, and I seem to always go back to the Owner Owner Shakey Ultrahead, or the Owner Shakey Football Head. I really like the build in screw lock they have. Very easy to rig and your bait always comes out nice and straight. Great show, watching makes me want to move back to TN so I can fish Pickwick Lake, knowing what I know now about fishing. LOL
Back in the late 80’s, early 90’s, we threw Shakey Heads called “Papa Smurf Jigs” and “Wade’s Jigs”. Long before the term “shakey head” came along. We used them to catch Spots in fall and spring, rigged with 4 and 5 inch straight tail worms. Killer lure!
Always enjoy your vids, Jacob! My favorite shaky head has been the same for the last five years. And even though I’m from Georgia, this one is a favorite out west. And that is the Frenzy baits Nail shakey head. I agree with the previous comment, the Picasso rhino is a good one too.
Thanks Jacob. Wiggle warts are a blast to fish. Grind, grind pause doink. Probably in the top 10 cranks ever. I'm changing up my shaky heads this year (they stopped making my heads). Going with the Owner football heads and Grande bass airtail worms (they stand straight up) good colors and texture.
I have one pack of those in green pumpkin don’t know where I got them but your right they do stand straight up but u should try the net bait t Mac they are like 4 bucks for 15 worms great colors and they stand up just like that air tail
Literally watched the video before I went fishing today started with the Jerkbait just about jerked the paint off of it before I switched baits I’ve been stuck on you and DC lake fork tourney so I changed to the spinner bait chunked for an hour and a light went off in my head you said the red or bright red craw plug didn’t have any cover just retaining walls so I put a rattle trap in the bright red and chartreuse bottom 3rd cast wham 2 cast later another I said to myself I her you Wheels so you caught me the fish today keep up the content I gotta have it
Been using VMC & Berkley fusion shaky heads. Zoom worms. The wiggle wart is a good lure. I was going through mine Sunday evening. Good luck this year 🎣
i Love fishing a shaky head , ive tried a lot and for me the owner ultrahead ball head seams to work best , has a nice glide when you go as light as you can. Can't beat it when the bite is tough.
Shakey head was my first artificial bait. No prior knowledge, I hooked a zoom speed craw to a 1/4 ounce and dropped it like a drop shot str8 under the boat on bass I find on the bottom on 2D. I fish it like pitching but under thereat and in 20-40'. I haven't found a better way to fish a shake head.
I'm still looking for a preferred worm jig head. Carrying 4 different brands and just bought my first tungsten heads. Finding one style works better with beaver-style creature baits; better heavier base for standing upright, others better for thin worms, some screw locks lend themselves to secure those soft swimbaits.
I have been kilking them on the BLATT SMH jig head and Smh wormz by znan it has been amazing on grassy bottoms its my new go to shakey head combo gotta give it a try👍🏻👊🏻💯🇺🇸🎣
Love these videos I don’t know if I’m the only one but I take your top 5s every time and head straight to the lake and most of the time I catch them good on one of the picks but on the shaky head set up. I like throwing Blats SMH set up his Smh worm has so much action on it without shaking or moving the rod as much the worm stands straight up and just rocks with the current a lot better than some of the other shaky head worms👍🏾
I personally use a spot remover with a screw lock and throw a 6 inch reaction innovations flirt worm or zoom trick worm. Color depends on time of year and water clarity
It will work in that. I’ve caught them in Indiana with it on my local river at 36 degrees but I do normally go down in size of the soft plastic when it’s that cold
I use shakeyheads that I make that have a handtied mono keeper like hayabusa flipping hooks have, and I also mold my own with screwlocks around the shaft that have keeper strength of a screwlock with hook up ratio of a thread-on standard shakeyhead. All heads are a 90degree line tie with a ball head shape
Owners shaky head hook has been the best for me. The keeper is the best one I have found. The hook is stout and very sharp. Very rarely does the hook point bend or go dull
My favorite shakeyhead is a Neko rig 😂 it just works better on the mucky bottoms around me with the line tie being higher up and rigged weedless it can go anywhere I need it to.
I fish the mighty Mississippi for multi spiecies. Use a lot of of jigheads, have went to makin my own with stronger hooks in sizes I need. If I needed a ‘shakey head’ jig with a bigger hook, I’d likely throw a ball or socket eye style head with a 3/0 hook size with a Ewg gap and a needlepoint hook tip. I like zman stuff, so it would have to have a wire keeper of some kind. Screw-in for anything else.
First, I feel like a complete fraud giving YOU any feedback on fishing. OK, now that that is out of the way, I really like the Owner Ultrahead Shaky Head. It has a very sticky, light wire hook, a solid centering pin and is available in various weights and colors. I use both the matte black and green pumpkin colors, and keep pretty much all weights in stock from 1/16 oz to 3/8 oz. I fish primarily in the Carolinas and we can see some pretty dirty water this time of year - Yoo-hoo like in places like High Rock. This jig head seems to work pretty well whether hopping or dragging.
I like ones with the 60 degree line tie and a light wire hook I think they get hung less and have a better hook up ratio and thanks for all the great videos
Been waiting for this one, always enjoy these vids, in fact I like all your content, may not always comment though, what I use most of the time with a shaky head is a owner finesse ball jig, I'm like you I'm venturing out a little, I just bought some made by Gamakatsu, can't wait for the season to start I know can't either!🎣
im tired of ohio weather man.. it was just 55 degrees 4 days and after that it was 15 for the next few days and the lake froze again i need to go fishing😂
Off subject question. I just sitting here watching one of the cup events. These should be the most watched events. No scope. 1 hr to figure it out. Love it. Think y’all had the right formula just pushed the wrong tournaments. The cups where the style you started with in the very beginning. I think it was your winning format keeping it secret from the fans is what made it not popular. Your thoughts would be interesting. Thanks your the best angler out there. Tell my kid you are the example of how to do something all in.
Swagger tackle tungsten shakeyheads....boss brent ehrler shakeyhead and greenfish casey ashley ones are good. Biggest thing is to stay away from the screw lock shakeyheads. If you know you know.
I have never lost a bass on a screwlock. I heard all the reasons but not changing till I loose fish. Screwlocks rig perfectly straight and are a time saver. You have to get bit first.
Buckey Lures spot removers shakey head, Gambler Giggy heads, Megastrike Shake2 Shakey head, and Gamakatsu stand up alien heads are the shakey heads I recommend; because I have lost big fish with the screw lock pig tails on most shakey heads. Last year I lost a 7lb smallmouth bass on shakey head with a pig tail because the worm could not slide off of the pigtail keeper.
Great info Jacob, My favorite jig head for shaky head is Owner ultra head finesse ball and football, love them and keeps it weedless. Good luck this season, can't wait to see the new boat
I loved watching and learning. Owner has the best screw lock shakey head. War eagle has the best lead keeper and they use nice sharp Gamakatsu hooks. I love keeping both on deck if I can.
Yep, ultrahead as are my go too, use the mag ultrahead too with 7” Senko, or 8-12” ribbon tail when going big.
LOL
The Z-Man SMH Shaky Head was good to me last year, especially with the SMH Worm in Green Pumpkin. Got a lot of bites in tough conditions.
The Spot Remover shakey head is my go to. The one with the screw lock in either green pumpkin or black 🎣

Spinnerbait in the laydowns, green/stained water, limestone with clay banks= MONEY!!!!! 1/2 dbl colorado, any color as long as it’s white/chartreuse.
I’ve been using the Zman SMH shakey heads with different Zman worms. The new heads come thru cover better than any others I have tried.
Great video. Thanks. If someone wanted to fish Watts Bar in the spring, when would be the best time for the spring bite? Thanks for anyone's answer
Big fan of the owner ultrahead for the smaller shakey head works and the spot remover heads for the bigger shakey head worms
VMC Dominator is my favorite shakyhead! The only drawback as a Co angler is getting hung up.... Great video Jacob!
Buckeye lures spot remover is the only shakey head I will throw. Best on the market no doubt
Thanks for sharing, I appreciate it!!
I'm gonna use a glide bait early this spring I just feel the feed up before the spawn will be a great time for a glide.

The yum shaky head works good with creatures and craws. It's a EWG hook and can be used with worms also.
The War Eagle Shakey head is really good.
I have been kilking them on the BLATT SMH jig head and Smh wormz by znan it has been amazing on grassy bottoms its my new go to shakey head combo gotta give it a try👍🏻👊🏻💯🇺🇸🎣
When do you use your cranking rod over a graphite cranking rod

What size line you use on your shaky head? Braid to leader?
Thanks JW at what water temps would you say are to cold for the shaky head? 38 up here in Pa.
It will work in that. I’ve caught them in Indiana with it on my local river at 36 degrees but I do normally go down in size of the soft plastic when it’s that cold
I love the owner shakey heads.
I’ve always been curious, what do you carry in that big box on top of your truck??
what kind and size of snap are you running on the crankbait?
I like the Owner shakey heads. So very sharp. And a screw lock.
Great stuff man I appreciate the content
It was 83 here today. Great video & info. Thanks for sharing 🎣 👍

I like that Idea
You the Man!!! Looking forward to the up coming season!!!...#DING
I really need to learn the spinnerbait. Seems like the chatterbait took over. Great video!
Jacob you are awesome bro! I'm a good old Indiana boy from Kokomo. Congratulations on all your successes man!!! 👏 👏 👏
Owners shaky head hook has been the best for me. The keeper is the best one I have found. The hook is stout and very sharp. Very rarely does the hook point bend or go dull
I love the Owner screw lock shakey heads. Pins them up to say the least.
I really like the 6th sense shakey head !
you should include the knot you tie on each lure as well. good luck this year
Hi Jacob!
Thank you for your tips, for you are a great guy. Tell Mark Daniel, I said; hello and GOD Bless, Timothy Mason
I've been waiting for this video... Thanks God bless you and your family.
My favorite shakeyhead is a Neko rig 😂 it just works better on the mucky bottoms around me with the line tie being higher up and rigged weedless it can go anywhere I need it to.
Man I use a spot remover 3/16 ounce shaky!!! Usually crème worms stick worm black and blue. Works good here in Texas.
I fish the mighty Mississippi for multi spiecies. Use a lot of of jigheads, have went to makin my own with stronger hooks in sizes I need. Picasso shakey head is my favorite. Sharpest hook I've found in a shakey head.

My preferred shakey head is the owner shakey head, I like the 1/4 oz but depends on the depth of the lake though.
Couple shimanos mixed in lately. I LOVE IT
I use a VMC Rugby Head instead of a Shaky Head. I think I get a better hook up.
Swagger tackle tungsten shakeyheads....boss brent ehrler shakeyhead and greenfish casey ashley ones are good. Biggest thing is to stay away from the screw lock shakeyheads. If you know you know.
