I take you through building a prospecting pack to meet every budget with some of my favorite gear from @FlourgoldWizards @georgiagoldguy @MinelabDetecting Dream Mat and more!
Super great video! No complaints from me with what you explained and offered. Everyone has their own preferences and as far as I’m concerned… if you’re having fun and catching the gold… you’re doing it right. Great job!!!
I actually bring that little guy out to the crick when I prospect in Maine... I also keep 4-5 of those cheap pans & trowels in the truck....The kids love to come dig and learn to pan...
I need a bright green smiley bucket ! I like his packing strategies. I have an archaeology bag, garden bag, and now two gold bags. Right now, I’m not scheduled for any digs, so it’s going to be a gold rush spring and summer. We should talk about rocks someday. 😀
Well explained. Everyone has to have their own special experiences. Most of the time you are smarter about the equipment you need when you go to the creek in second gear. ⚒👍🤠
Awesome job my friend! From a fellow prospector’s prospective I can say you absolutely give Great advice And a that’s a great list of items that should get most everyone started out in a regional area with access to rivers, creaks and stream. Which covers a large portion of the states. Really the only other two item I always have in my pack is a good pair of glove’s suitable for wet and dry use and a stiff bristle brush also suitable for wet or dry usage. Thanks you for including to obey state and municipal laws, that is key along with most importantly federal laws here in the USA most our public mining land is either overseen by the BLM or the USDA these rules and regulations are easily sourced as you pointed out. Another spectacular episode and fun to watch. Thank you for what you’re doing sir great job. 👍😎🎩⚒️
Hey ATC! Great video! Clear, well planned, with explanations of the “whys” you prefer each item. Wish I had learned the “buy once, cry once” principle. 😂 My list includes that battery! And that sluice head attachment! BTW, nice nuggets on black velvet. I’ve got those, but GA nuggets are smaller(so far). Thanks again, ATC!
Thanks so much Gail.... PS, I speak if the buy once cry once philosophy after having learnt the hard way myself, so don't feel bad we are in good company!
Yeah, I mean the prices of the dirt are starting to go up too unfortunately but either way it's definitely great practice and it can be an investment over time... I have dirts I did 5-10 years ago that the recovered gold far outweighs the price of those dirts now...
Great Video. I would suggest a small sluice like the dream mat adventure sluice for the basic kit. Inexpensive and easily packable. Plus it can be used as a cleanup sluice and it helps teach how sluices work. X2 on the Smoothwater sluice head. I’ve got one and love it. You can also use it with the adventure sluice, especially if you get the smallest size.
@@michaelaustin3748 That's awesome, thanks!... And yes, the most fun part of this for me is interacting with the online prospecting community and folks who are interested in the hobby!
I really like an old milsurp duffle bag, they're tuff, cheap and hold all my gear including bucket (goes in first) a 10x36 sluice, masonry hammer, pan, classifier and a 3ft pry bar.
I even stack 4 buckets in mine. Your sluice can stick out of the top and then I just clip the holes together at the top as they allow (sometimes using a carabiner to reach). Those old bags are useful for so many things, I have several.
@@supacheef1 I could, but I really don't need the buckets inside the pak... Iusually strap 'em to the front rack... Duffle idea is great though and likely cheaper than a military backpack like mine..
Great video thanks for taking the time to share it for me everything you said was on point one question why don’t you use the gold hog sluice for clean up didn’t it come with two mats I have the multi sluice (love it) I am thinking about the river sluice Ones again great video Thanks
The mini stream only comes with the one matting set, I run it at the creek and I absolutely love it, does a fantastic job but leaves a lot of concentrates with the big deep riffles... The dream mat leaves you with next to nothing to pan out if you use the micro mat.... Cheers Lawrence!
Guess my buying gold finding stuff needs to be put on hold.😢 just found out my wife is prego!!!! Been trying for years!! Happy for it but sad I can't prospecting stuff now.
Great suggestions! I'm a big gold noob and just went through my first pound of paydirt. I live in Brampton, not much prospecting going on here, but on my travels through Ontario I'm going to keep my kit in my car. Nice to have some of those tools in Brampton for other reasons. Thanks for all of your great videos from a Canadian perspective. Is there such thing as a Canadian Paydirt company with free shipping?
@@AllThingsCountry74 I was about to order from them before I saw the gold nugget sales dirt. They'll probably be on the next order. You deserve way more subs man!

Thanks for watching Kelly, glad you enjoyed!

Would add an RPE Sluce or something light to pack out to the field unless your spot is next to the road.
Above all...just do it!

I highly recommend the paydirt for practice and fun. It's a blast and at the rate things are going, a solid bird in the hand.

12.8v 280 amp hour is the largest, but I would recommend the 50 Amp hour battery it runs my gold cube and trommel all day.
Yeah, Jason from FGW has the 100.... You would definitely need the 50 to run the two pieces I would think!
@AllThingsCountry74 Jason has a 30, he used to run. I think the 100 is new but it's overkill 23-26 lbs
@@highwaterprospecting1971 Doubt it would fit in my pack with all of the other stuff!...
