Moved here from Reno more than a decade ago, live in an old house in the Hyde Park area which is 10 minutes away from the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, e-bike to work to the huge hospital by the Plaza thru the park and enjoy going to the River Market every other weekend. Yes, this part of the city has a rough side and can get crazy every now and then, but leaving Reno and the dry desert for KC and the green prairie has been the best decision I have made in my life.
Visited KC last October--was impressed by the low population density. So much room, so easy to get around. Also, it seemed like anything I needed I could find within a ten block radius.
I am a lawyer living in San Diego, looking to move back to Johnson County (Leawood OP area) for 6+ months of the year. I grew up in KC and have always loved the mix of sophistication and well-grounded Midwestern values. I'm also a big fan of San Diego, but California taxes are insane and the cost of living here for comparable housing is about double. I've got friends here in SoCal that also live half of the time in more 'sane' locations. Your channel is awesome!
As someone that has lived in the KC metro my whole life. 5 things I love about living in KC 1. KC has a great Mexican American Community. Everyone in my family loves KC 🇲🇽🇺🇸 2. Great Restaurants. Wonderful BBQ and Mexican Restaurants 3. Great stores like Hyvee, Price Chopper and Hen House. I love Quik Trip 4. Great school districts 5. I love the politics in KS and Missouri. Vote Republican 🔴 *Bonus I love that we get plenty of rainfall. Never take rain for granted.

I'm sure you have some nice trees, but here in Philadelphia, the autumns are magnificent! We even have a forested small canyon within the city limits, the Wissahickon. The city also contains so many tree-lined streets, it's stunning when the colors peak. Now we have a bad reputation for being ugly, but nothing can be further from the truth, walk the length of Pine and Spruce Streets and you'll see some of the most exquisite red brick townhomes in the nation. Oh and our city hall is the most beautiful in the country. I'm sure KC is nice, maybe I'll visit, but to live, idk, especially since I don't drive. Also, we're still kind of bitter about the last Super Bowl, LOL.

Why would anyone need to go to the downtown area ? There’s not many jobs there and there’s not many shops there. That’s why there’s not much traffic as you were saying.
The reason there is not traffic is because there is nowhere interesting to go. People complain about he traffic in LA and how long it takes to get anywhere, but how long would it take to get to a beach or the mountains if you are living in Kansas City?

Yeah, not so sure about that. KC real estate has boomed over the last 5 years. Of course, if you get into a really hot market, it will go up, but the trick is finding a place before it gets really hot.
Couldn’t agree more on the beauty of fall and the joy of a place that is lush and green with butterflies and flowers.
Fall is the freaking best
lots of places with butterflies and flowers. there are lots of good people, but too many criminals.

Hope this storm Friday didn't damage anything there. I heard it took out a bunch of the old trees in Brookside.
It did and is really sad to see these 60-70 y/o trees uprooted. Such a wild storm!
@movingtokc I'm in NKC and we didn't get that much wind. The rain was our problem.

@@merrytunes8697 the city of KC is blue. The suburbs especially on the Kansas side lean Red.
