I think he wasn't speaking to "you"; he was speaking to one of the invisible children already on the bus ;) P.S. That would be cause for immediate termination of any real school-bus driver these days... no bus driver --- especially of school kids or church groups --- is allowed to swear, especially to say the F-bomb.
I remember these Thomas Chevys well. When I started kindergarten in 1994, we had two Internationals and two Fords. All of them with red loading lights and the white stop signs (at the time, the bus had the white pennant signs with STOP printed in black - not uncommon in NC until around 2000). Every now and again, we'd have a couple of Chevys in as substitute buses. First time I saw one of this one's kind in action with the air parking brake though - the ones at my school had the manual parking brake.
Love your dad, but tell him if he shows up at the Brady house with a bus they will think he's nuts. It was the Partridge Family that traveled in a bus.
Doug Goding he’s lucky to have a good father figure in his life mine is dead beat and already left my mom it’s a shame I get jealous sometimes seeing people with good dads while mine never was in my life idk even know why I’m writing this to you oh well lol
Hes alright haha. A little crazy, but who isnt? And Anthony... Im sorry you dont have a luxury like that. But if you ever have kids, youll remember your dad. And you wont make those same mistakes. You will be the better man, and give you kids ( should you have any ) everything . Thats just how it is sometimes. Chin up man!
Jay Smart That's exactly how I am too. I never knew mine and I had a violent step father who beat me badly almost every day. My kids are the happiest kids I know and they will never experience what I did. If I can be half of what your Dad is I will be very happy :)
Anthony Torres I know this might sound extreme but therapy really helps to sort this kind of thing out. I'm a different person to what I was a year ago :)
I know this bus is long gone but thank God this one was an automatic. I love the 1970s school buses with automatic transmissions and gas engines. This is what you call a real school bus. All metal. All steel. That jerk from second to third gears on the automatics and the growl of the engine and tires while driving. Yes and that green interior and that smell.
When I lived in Ithaca, I fantasized about buying a 1978 Fisherbody school bus and converting it into "Jacky's Mobile Bedroom", for road trips back to Charlotte.
There is a really big demand for that type of bus. Would be perfect to do figure 8 school bus racing in, it has a hood on it so its a lot safer than those flat nose buses. Huge plus is that it runs, saves somebody a lot of aggravation of an engine swap, etc Also I'd pry that Chevy emblem off the hood and stick it on the wall in my garage, its pretty boss looking.
I was sent here to see this video as I have a bus chassis needing a body. Seems like yours is still in decent shape. I bought a 1953 Brockway and have been looking for a vintage body for it. I did look into a few newer ones to use the body from but they want too much for them. The ultimate body for my project would be the old round body early style.
Theres no telling .But judging by the moss and mold growing on it. The dead gas, and terrible dry cracked belts. Its probably been decommissioned for years
its a 350 small block chevy engine with the Ram's Horn exhaust manifolds as most later bus and medium duty truck chassis will have either a 366 or a 427 Big Block chevy tall deck truck engine the transmission in the bus is most likely an Allison AT545. the bus body is a Thomas
I went to a little Christian school and we had an old white Vintage bus as our school bus in the 90's and it was even a stick shift. I keep hoping I'll find that thing somewhere but it could be anywhere.
I rode to school on a Chevy Chassis like that for a year or two. The one I rode on however had a Superior body on it. Pretty sure this one is a Blue Bird? And it had a New Process 5 speed as opposed to an Allison.
@@anthonycach4301 I had a chance to buy a bus, forgot the passenger capicity but it was longggg. It had a 454, had a bad tappet in it. No problem as I've mechaniced pertty much all my life. Only thing though, it had an automatic trans. He wanted 2500. Body very nice, drive train good except for the noisey lifter. I started to buy it but I found a 31 ft travel trailer that needed work. About half way on it and yet to figure out what Im going too do with it. I will eventually find a bus.
@@anthonycach4301 I had 88 chevy p-up with a 350, at that time a 350 in a pick up was 260 hp, (detuned). All you have to do to em is change out the module and it would be 300 hp. Being in a bus of that age with a carb, it would be easy to draw hp with s few minor mods.some times they would have a govenor on them to limit top end, probably around 65-70 mph. Really no need to go faster but I would definatly change that, add better air flow air filter system, run dual exhaust, and a mild high rise intake. Then make a decision on what carb to run. That should raise it to maybe 325-350 hp. I would not pay over 1200 for the bus they showed being that I been checking out buses for a camper conversion. Theres plenty of newer ones starting around 2500- 4000 price range. I do like the older ones though.
They must gear those engines down incredibly, a 350 in a 5-ton bus? Must be because they are not designed to do much over the speed limit. I've heard that the cylinder heads on those engines are prone to cracking because of the Siamesed exhaust ports in the middle of them, but they are solid engines. I'd put it in a K15 or something and scrap the rest.
yea its all in the gearing. Weve had some really old dump trucks and peach flats come in with straight six cylinders on a single barrel carb. But they would granny four speed transmissions, two speed rear ends, and low low gearing to make it move that weight. But damn your always shifting haha!
lol is that another one of them no smoking but there is a cigarette lighter in it.. that was just funny on the other vid u said no smoking and there it was right by the driver.. lol
cool video. an white school bus never seen a white bus ever. seen an blue color school bus once in a while but mainly yellow mostly. is there a startup & showing video of this bus? and if possible do some more driving of the bus. what year is the bus. how many miles, what county & state is it originally from? and LOL at "Sit the fuck down" so so funny sounds similar to a school bus driver when i was in middle school driver said as a joke trying to be funny "sit yo ass down dwag" was so funny
AwesomeMCGuy it's because it got a second life as a church bus that is why it's repainted white you can see it used to be originally yellow when he lifted up the hood
I have no information on the bus at all. Its cool , but the bus its at the end of the road. ( literally, we parked it in the back haha ) but its not going to be messed with anymore sadly.. Its done
Nah, that can't be that old. We had that nose style the buses I went to school on. That was about 82-83. Unless Chevrolet used the same nose for multiple years.
spik3stactical Thomas used that body style up til 2010 or so. That's when they introduced the new C2 conventional bus. Chevy used that nose until about 83. The alligator snot is what we called them at the garage.
I loved it when the Driver yelled at you to STFD! Haha that was unexpected.
Yea, I wasnt ready for that either haha.
RedWhiteAndBlueVideo He was just joking!
I wanted
Lol he was rude

"SIT THE FUCK DOWN!" LOL
justsomeguytoyou 😂
justsomeguytoyou that was so funny
justsomeguytoyou I call that bus the pussy plower, plowing over hoes in a furry
That was probably the funniest part of this whole video lol
totally agree that being said was so funny

“SIT THE FUCK DOWN” 😂
Dad must have some repressed memories of the bus he never told us about
Jay Smart Ya maybe he was once a school bus driver when he was younger
Love your dad, but tell him if he shows up at the Brady house with a bus they will think he's nuts. It was the Partridge Family that traveled in a bus.

"Sit the FUCK DOWN!" is why I subscribed, saved, downloaded and liked the video.
When I lived in Ithaca, I fantasized about buying a 1978 Fisherbody school bus and converting it into "Jacky's Mobile Bedroom", for road trips back to Charlotte.
Dam thats a nice bus
Id restore it.
Forgott3n Gaming same
Me too
Its out of my budget, but Im sure it could be done ! Imagine that at a car show haha
Jay Smart take it to Import Alliance haha
I'd definitely restore that
I subbed because he screamed sit the fuck down. That's so golden

I wonder how long the church people ran that bus before it ended up in the scrap yard
Theres no telling .But judging by the moss and mold growing on it. The dead gas, and terrible dry cracked belts. Its probably been decommissioned for years
And remember, by the time a CHURCH gets their hands on these, they bought them from the state, who was getting rid of them because they were worn out.
I laughed my ass off, at @ 2:06! Great video!
You should get that bus. How much will it go for?
Andrew Plantagenet -
GET THE F$ OFF MY BUS!
“Sit the fuck down!” That’s awesome.
I Spy With My Little Eye: A perfectly good set of Rams Horn exhaust manifolds that are probably worth a buck or two.
And here I get excited when I see an old 90s GMC Blue Bird bus.
Nice camp for the deer camp! Love the drivers coments lol
It really would be !
Bus driver said bad words !
Set the phone down!
This is James Barrow this bus is Cool and it's still starts
That was so funny when the bus driver say sit the fuck down
2:06 SIT THE FUCK DOWN... My bus driver
I am watching from Elmira NY looks like an old church bus.

Now you can paint it like a stain glass window and make it into a Partridge Family band wagon.
Man, that thing is really cool.
I remember those Chevy bus, same kind I rode during middle 1980’s
I went to a little Christian school and we had an old white Vintage bus as our school bus in the 90's and it was even a stick shift. I keep hoping I'll find that thing somewhere but it could be anywhere.
I lost my shit when his dad yelled " SIT THE FUCK DOWN!"
I didnt know it was coming either.
That old Ford is so cool where did you find that old
I laughter when he said SIT THE FUCK DOWN
"SIT THE FUCK DOWN!"
"ᵒᵏᵃʸ"
I have a few stories to tell about a bus just like that. Good motor in there and probably not too many miles on it either.
Good stories I hope!
I rode to school on a Chevy Chassis like that for a year or two. The one I rode on however had a Superior body on it. Pretty sure this one is a Blue Bird? And it had a New Process 5 speed as opposed to an Allison.
You should convert that into an RV or something. It would be sad for a perfectly good bus like that be cut up.
Is it really a 350 I thought they put the tall deck 366 truck engines in them.
Could be a small block 400, looks the same as 350.......
Old buses are a great storage solution if you have the space!
a 350 in a bus that size it must be a dog
andrew donohue it's all in the gearing.
It needs a 454

Andrew Donohue Most of them had 366ci big blocks in them ,my first and engine build was a 327ci with a steel crank out of a school bus.
What about using it for sheltered transport of longer items if you gotta transport in stormy weather?
a gasoline powered bus. that's actually so exciting.

I bet that bus had an automatic Allison transmission that whines through the gears.
It needs a 454
Pressure wash it, paint it, get her tuned up, seems like it might be a good investment.
Dude This Video Really Makes Me Laugh LOL Thanks Dude Truly Sweet Keep Up The Great Work Later Peace Out Yo.😁👍💪💪⚡🤖
Totally thought the rear said redtube and not riptide.... Is that a bad thing??
Holy crap that smog pump looks big enough to drain your property.
I don’t think you guys should scrap that one. But wow that’s a really nice bus but I can’t believe the engine was able to start.
Should be a 4 bolt main. Would be a good donor for your s10.
That was my thoughts exactly!
2:06 yooo im dead😂😂
Dude you should do a whole video with this bus
That's pretty cool
Thanks man! I though so too !
That’s like a 1960 Prison Bus :O
For sale?
lol is that another one of them no smoking but there is a cigarette lighter in it.. that was just funny on the other vid u said no smoking and there it was right by the driver.. lol
Yay!! That is a nice bus!!
Ask Rick at classic truck rescue he specialises in chevy/gmc trucks and restores some hes in oregon
This looks like a late 70s-early 80s thomas built on a chevy chassis
Well that was confusing - my microwave started beeping when he reversed. I thought the bus had a warning beeper :D
hahah! Also wondering why the bus would have been backing through your kitchen
Not the Brady Bunch but the Partridge Family.
Hes old, cut him some slack haha. and just in case he sees this ( Sorry old man! It was David! )
awww poor bus needs a good home
Lol love the video.
Thanks !
That clicking sounds promising
"SIT THE F*CK DOWN!!!"
What do you mean but it has to go? Bye bus? Where?
Gotta Luv the Bus
Did That Bus Break Down
How is Chevy still still working
With this bus you can do the remake of speed 1 would this bus hold up to 55.
Did that bus get wasted?
Much easier to move them when they run even if it takes a bit of work
OH for sure!
What year is this bus
jay how much is the chevy bus....
I think that motor in there is actually a 366 Chevrolet big block industrial motor
What is the compressor for, air con or compressed air?
Here in Australia most buses are air-conditioned, but wouldn’t have thought so
up your way!
Peter Harms compressed air for the brakes. Kinda surprised it even has air brakes

oh man! that belongs in my driveway
Cool bus
Jay where r u located and how much r u asking for the bus
Check the size of that engine again, may not be a 350 but maybe a 366??
Talk about manifold leaks lol
oh I wants the stop arm on the side!
Sheen he said that part about grown ups I was literally watching that movie
Now you could turn this into a motor home
Oh yea!
would be a brilliant house with alot of work
like a much more affordable RV !
yeah man would be awesome
Got any more busses?
nope, this is all of them for now
More likely a commercial truck engine like the Chevy big block 366
Early eighties bus?
briteidea08 no 1960 to early 1970
Wow really? I didnt think it would be from the 60s
Nah, that can't be that old. We had that nose style the buses I went to school on. That was about 82-83. Unless Chevrolet used the same nose for multiple years.
Jay Smart its mid 60's to early 70's the early 80's chevy buses had a different more modern front end and hood
That engine has a crazy loud tick
cracked exhaust manifold. Engine itself is in great shape.
Apparently us southerns are good at engines and machines...
It's an old bus early 80's/late 70's.
Starman998 actually it's a 67-72 body style
I'm surprised that one was an automatic
GM used this nose on school buses thru about 1983 or so for some reason.

Cool :)

Welcome :)
Was this truck scrapped
Sorry bus*
And when I mean scrapped, I mean cut apart and squashed
"SIT THE FUCK DOWN!!!"
I've seen a video where a bus done a burnout in the snow.
Y'all broke the bus 😭😭😭
And just when we were talking about gasoline engine buses.....
BOOM GAS BUS haha. Ask and you shall receive !
