    Sledge dropped off when he lost his SMG-11, and then he REALLY dropped off when he dropped to a 1-Speed.

      There’s almost no reason to use sledge over Ram or buck. Sledges type of operator thrives in vertical takes and he gets completely out classed by ram in particular they need to at least give him the speed back. Ram has the R4c flashes and a secondary shotgun. Buck has a great gun and options of flashes or hard breach charges. He needs something in his kit to keep him in line the current level of vert attackers and that means at a minimum to give him some speed back. I think a similar thing could be done to bring Zofia back in line with her archetype and then they won’t have to keep nerfing ash for reason either.

      @oNextq He also really thrived back in the early days, when people used breaching charges more. Defenders were primed to react to a breach, but Sledge could rotate MUCH more stealthily.
      Now, people don't breach as often. Heck, DEFENDERS destroy more soft material than Defenders nowadays!

      don't forget the nade nerf. Sledge was good cause he had nades, but now they're not that relevant anymore, sledge is useless.

    For Sledge I don't really think we need to do anything too crazy, all I think he really needs is to become a 3 speed because first he is an up close and personal type of operator so you'd want him to close the distance quickly, and second we already have a 1 & 2 speed vertical operator, so why not round it out with a 3 speed operator?
    I would also like him to be able to hold his hammer out like in extraction, that way he can quickly break surfaces without going into that brief cool down.
    And maybe they could also make his hammer have unlimited charges to differentiate between Buck, but that might be too much.

      If he became 3 speed he would become ash 2.0, rush site with soft breach
      If his hammer was unlimited, he would be able to erase maps which although fun, is unnecessary, you rarely run out of sledge hits in practice

      IMO they could do that with the Blackbeard rework, give him the ability to cook grenades or something, as for sledge what I think they should do is give him the SMG 11 again but with no grip on it, I like the idea of debris messing with your screen but make it like standing too close to an ash charge with the drywall on the sides of your screen, as for thorn make her gadget do 50 damage but explode instantly, and make it so that it slows you for 10 seconds

      @@swiggins6157 I don't want BB's main ability to act like another recruit because 1 even with cooking, grenades aren't worthy of a full gadget, and 2 it's a lazy and unoriginal rework.
      For Sledge I'm honestly fine with them reverting the older changes considering he was one of the most balanced attackers before them.
      The only reason he got nerfed in the first place is because people liked to play him because he was fun. I'm not even kidding about that, because if you look at the Crystal Guard patch notes Sledge became the most picked attacker after Ash and Zofia were nerfed, but he was actually slightly underperforming. Gotta love pick rate balancing.

    I feel like I get a decent amount of kills off of thorn, I wouldn't mind a slightly shorter fuze or if they removed the arrow that points to the gadget. Either place two thorn traps on a hatch or repel window, or play close to a thorn and go off of the sounds cue, and people will often have to either shoot the thorn or shoot back at you.

    I honestly love listening and making concepts and reworks it’s amazing to see how people can make these amazing concepts and ideas also what operator concept would you like to see in game soon? And any new guns as well? Also do you think there should be more snipers or hard breaches etc (I know it’s a lot of questions sorry)

    Sledge needs to get a buff for sure but not to his weapons. The hammer in itself should maybe allow you to dent the reinforcements and maybe after 5-6 swings make a little hole from the repeated trauma. That or maybe allow for the shattering of bald opp shield?

    The initial sledge idea is great, however the one you just thought of in this video is completely overpowered lol. All sledge would need is a team mate next to him and one guy droning and they would break the game.
    My idea for thorn is simply giving her a shrapnel affect which damages the operators by 30 health then continues to to deplete without being able to take it out.
    The point of countering traps are you’re supposed to drone and get rid of them. If you fail to do so then you should face the consequence. It isnt fair for thorn that even unaware players are able to avoid her gadget if they make that mistake.
    My other idea for her rework is the attacker who stepped into the trap should only be allowed to sprint forwards, forcing them into a bad position etc rather than just stepping back into safety

    I think using sledges durability would be a cool way to test things out, like letting him crack open hard hatches but it chunks his durability. this would make him better at vertical than buck since he has to sacrifice his secondary gadget to do the same, and give him a more even match up agains ram. so in the end he is different to buck in the way that one is better at veritcal play while the other is better at horizontal play. While with ram they do the same thing differently. Kaid and tubby would counter this mechanic to make it more balanced.

      I kind of agree, kind of don't. I think him getting hatches would do nothing but help him and wouldn't be unbalanced, but I also feel like it goes against some of sieges current patterns

      @@blaza1017 Could be a good idea if it's slow (multiple hits) and takes a chunk of his hammer, like he can breach 2 hatches if he doesn't hit anything else. That way you can kinda use him in situations where you need vert and a single hatch to open. And bring him back to 2 speed.

    Thorns razorbloom could have like a chain effect and you could connect razorblooms so that if one activate all connected to it also activate. This could work like Fenrir mines so if you use the phone on two of them they are connected.

    Thorn's razorbloom needs to act like a kapkan trap, if you see it you can destroy it but if you get hit by it then its a guaranteed detonation. Increase overall range with a small killzone to force them to move

      The only issue is, why take kapkans? Razorblooms can be hidden, thus they need to have a drawback. The detonation time was a good thought, but bad in practice. If it was an instant detonation, then it's just a better kapkan

      @@canimanamino2433 to clarify it wouldn’t be instant but definately much faster with the intention to have a bleed effect or whatever. The kill radius would basically be anywhere within a metre, so if the range is increased unless you walk directly into it you shouldn’t die

      @Xavier-bb4ki With that, think of it like this. To activate, you need to walk towards it. Thus, the kill zone is away from where you are when you activate it. You could run into it, or it could activate on a door so you're in the kill range, but either way you can still back away. While that's better than currently, I'm not convinced it's balanced

      The delay gives a false sense of security, so they'll walk into an area, settle down to plant or hold an angle, then they suddenly have to run and die to gunfire or stay and take their chances with the trap

      @@lH3ll0. I don’t know what “rework” means since its used so loosely in R6, but this concept is definitely needed. Changing values like his speed and speed of swinging the hammer isn’t enough. He needs tweaking to how his gadget works

    I have a rlly cool idea for a sledge rework: firstly give him flashes and smokes as his gadgets and give him the ITA12S and MK1 9mm as secondaries, then make him a 1 speed and change his loadout to LMG-E and R4-C, then give him 3 sledge hammers that have a thruster on the end. Whenever he throws his rocket propelled sledgehammer on the floor, it drags across the ground it's thrown on and breaches hatches and destroys soft ceilings giving more vertical play!

    I personally disagree with the thorn stuff. I might fall into the lower rank category you are talking about as i am gold/silver. For me, Thorn is about forcing opponents into a unfavorable situation. by combining it with razor wire you get quite a lot of kills. You have to be creative and force movement and place them in spots people tend to want to not stay in very long to force their hand and drive them. Thats just one persons opinion but id personally prefer to keep it the way it is vs the proposed reduced damage/limping.

    for the siege cup they should add something in the menus where you can find teammates and apply roles etc and then recruit them for the cup, it be so good cause it pump so many more players in it and help out the people who doesnt have a team

    -Allow him to hold the hammer instead of the button mash fest
    -Improve his speed with his hammer out
    -remove the durability
    -Increase the range of is hammer to allow him to stand off to the side of his breaches
    -Have a box destruction indicator (like the throwable gadget indicator)
    -add a tiredness mechanic to where he gets a slowness penalty and hammer locked out if he uses the hammer too much in a short time (kinda like shields and their bullet fatigue)

    To be honest I like this but more than that I'd love the gadget button on Sledge to just pull out the hammer without swinging it, and then using left click to swing it. Would allow for faster consecutive uses if the hammer, instead of pulling it out each time.

    I think it would also be cool to make it so that the lever that’s on the inside of the reinforcement is able to be lifted by sledge’s crowbar side of his sledgehammer. Therefore, if you’re in site and there’s people holding the exit, he can take off the reinforcement and create an exit in the soft wall after.

    I had an idea for Thorn after Fenrir's introduction which I think would be pretty original and make her a lot more interesting:
    An option to make it so that her Razorblooms have two modes: "automatic" and "manual". In automatic mode, she'd work pretty much as she does right now: you get in the AOE, the Razorbloom activates. I guess you could buff the range and/or timer so it's a bit faster, BUT make her gadget bright a bit more.
    The twist would be in the manual mode, a unique way to play a trap operator: the gadget has its light turned off or perhaps even the old cloaking style that GUs/Yokais had, so you have to be very careful and use your drones, HOWEVER Thorn *has to* manually activate it. Kind of like how you blow a C4 or a Smoke canister.
    She can choose between having all of them auto and thereby having the freedom to just run around without fearing her own death, or having them all in manual, thereby playing a more "anchor" style, or even have like 3 in automatic mode and a single one in manual, or whatever other combo: the player is the one to choose.

    I like the idea of thorns radius increasing, to add to that I’d say add a pinging mechanic that works like lesions gu. The pinging starts when the bloom damages you, you then have to take it out or risk your position being exposed

    Make sledge able to hit middle objects or hard surfaces to create a loud noise to deafen enemy operators so that he can make surprise attacks or flanks or rushes well The enemy can’t hear and give him his smg11 back when it comes to Thorne either give her five traps or make her traps trigger within 1 1/2 seconds or you can make her traps work like a mix between lesion and Frost so when they trigger a trap and get hit they start bleeding can’t sprint and makes noise when walking and or leaves footprints until they take it out but don’t take damage over time and she still has three traps and buff her primary more rpm or bigger mag or give her an acog😂

    Thorn is very good when you use multiple razerblooms in tandem to force attackers to have to rush into a random room / or area unprepared to get an easy pick.
    Razerblooms work best when being used to funnel attackers a certain direction, or when paired with other gadgets.

    I think thorn's gadget needs severe changes. As you stated, every other trapper is almost always a better pick. The Thorn trap is trying to be multiple gadgets at once as opposed to its own thing. It tries high damage, like kapkan. It tries loud noise, like melusi. And it tries to force a reaction, like lesion. This leaves it as a jack of all trades but truly a master of none. It does less damage less reliably than a kapkan, it's quieter than a melusi usually, and most people can just move out of the way before having to shoot it meaning lesion's gu reaction is more forced.
    Instead of this mess, I believe it should be based more on an actual thorn. Instead of trying to kill you slowly, it should tether you and all nearby enemies nearly immediately. This would slow you down inside it's radius in a way similar to a frost trap, removing the 1 shot mechanic but still granting defenders an advantage over naive attackers and rushers. The trap would be bulletproof once activated but you could break the tether by removing the rope or cutting it, like a gu, or slowly walk outside the radius to break the line, granting free movement once again. A real thorn can cut deep and make it difficult/painful to break free. Of course this new trap could cause damage to move like a gridlock or barbed wire, but I think that it's not necessary.
    In my mind, with some adjustments for balancing, this would make thorn much more viable. She'd now be a bit like pre nerf melusi with a quicker option to escape the slow trap. Making her direct competition melusi instead of kapkan or lesion will make her seem much better, too, as she's now used to stall attackers as opposed to kill them through traps. Her traps are also harder to spot than melusi's are, making her better for brava defense and general defense alongside having a better gun.

    Getting an impactful razorbloom is more common once you get more tenacious at placing them. I get quite a few RB kills in ranked if I place them in my sneaky spots.
    The only issue I find is that it doesn't set off fast enough. And a 2-3 speed can easily pass through one unaffected, even with a barby in the way.
    If it set off quicker then that would make it more impactful.
    If anything add that detonation speed up and if hit by it and somehow survive, you leave a trail of blood like frost mat removal. But not the sound queue or slow effect.
    The limp effect should be added to EDDs. Because a single EDD would make sense.

    As someone who’s maimed thorn since she dropped I think it’s an interesting idea but her trap is based off the lethality so removing that sun favor of a “minor inconvenience” seems like a big nerf. I’d rather have her trap be a mix between lesion and Kapkan where if you are hit by it, it hurts and requires you to remove shrapnel from you and the shrapnel is what causes the limp effect you want. But I mean the best buff for her Is just the fuse being faster lol

    Sledges rework concept is something I can 100% see added to the game to give him extra viability, however I disagree with Thorn’s. Her kit has a ceiling that requires you to think about placement, and when she works she WORKS. If anything, I could see a range extension but a requirement to be closer to the razorbloom to secure the kill, and maybe the provide 1 more to her kit.

    Not a big fan of the sledge idea but I think the thorn interation is really good, making it do ~25 damage, giving a lesion/frost like debuff, making them activate much faster, and giving her 4 would be a good idea. For sledge, I think you could take a look at his secondary gadgets, nades are too useful but if you swap the emps and stuns for smokes and hard breach, I think he would be more interesting. Overall, I think the easy fix for sledge would be to give him the smg-11 back.

    For sledge a small change I'd say would be cooler is the shrapnel/debris from hitting the floor stays on the ground creating a area of decreased mobility for def that walk through it kinda like barbwire

    I think they could try making Thorn's traps camouflage, kinda Lesion's mines used to. With the low amount and high detonation time, I doubt it would make her too oppressive.
    Sledge just needs to become a 2 speed again. Maybe giving him the smg11 back would also work if the speed change wasn't enough or if they don't wanna change his speed.

    Alternative thorn idea. 4 thorn traps with the option to choose between a wider hit radius with longer detonation time and a short radius with a shorter time. Maybe make the traps a little harder to see ?

    I feel like a neat sledge buff would be when he has his hammer out he can sprint like a 4 speed.
    For thorn i feel like it would be cool if her gadget was like an enhanced impact grenade; she throws it at the enemy it explodes in the air when it comes into contract with them, or if you throw it on the ground. Ubi would obviously have to reduce the damage but this would be a great counter to shields in the current meta.

    Thorn’s Razorblooms should do 40 damage on detonation, then apply a 10 second bleeding effect where attackers lose 2 health per second, totaling for 60 damage. Tht could be a great Thron change

    I do see one big issue with the thorn idea. Stacking thorn gadgets. Effectively making a single area instant death trap. Not a massive problem in high ranks, but that would be a big problem for lower ranks or casual. The speed would make it near impossible to escape them, and stacking like two would probably instant kill. The only way it could work without this problem is making them do like 20 damage.

    I think the one with sledge would be a lil too strong. For a frost mat, you have only 3 chances to do it, with sledge, over 20. Even if it's only half as bad, sledge would be a nightmar more annoying than Jackal, pre-nerf Dokkaebi and maybe even Tubarao and Kaid combo.

    I kinda wish more operators had more “augments” to their abilities. Like hibana can change the number of pellets she shoots depending on what kind of hole you want. I wish nok had the ability to choose silent step OR invisible to cameras. Warden can choose immune to flashes OR smokes. Thatcher can choose for his emp grenades to detonate instantly with a smaller radius, OR go off after a few seconds for a larger radius. I just feel like it would add much more depth to the operators and would be a lot of fun using these new “augments”

    He is fine he doesn't need a rework just make him 3 speed. There just isn't a reason to bring him when Buck has Can openers and can go up to down and down to up, Ram has Flashes/Smokes and opens things infinitely faster. Both of the vert ops are able to do vert safely with out fear of nitro's and offer other utility. Sledge should be 3 speed as he needs to go to the floor he wants to smash making him more likely to be Nitroed. He also should lose EMPs and gain Can openers. Take Can openers from buck and give him EMPs.
    Now you have clear roles
    Ram - 1 speed = most vertical destruction and smokes for execute
    Buck - 2 speed = most versatile vertical destruction and emps for breech
    Sledge - 3 speed = A balance of both but increased utility for hatches.
    I think if there are three ops that do the same thing they should be 1 through 3 speed and all do things slightly dif.
    you could apply this to Hard-breecher's too
    Ace (SHOULD be 1 Speed) - Safest Hard-breecher's best weapon
    Therm - 2 Speed - Most Hard-breech potential has to be close to the wall above avg weapon
    Hib - 3 speed - Most hatch breech potential ranged breech god tier weapons below avg wall breech.
    This design choice offers more in-depth strats.

    the very first thing that Buck always had over sledge was speed. What Ive always proposed is that they should allow you to hold the gadget button after every hammer slam and make you be able to have it equipped for the next slam just like doktor's curse

    How about treat the debri on the floor as if they were gridlocks. Concussion would not be a thing but the debri hitting and slowing the person would definitely work as you can drop a grenade and hammer it through the floor so the enemy can’t run away to fast and get blown up.

    I think it'll be quite too OP given the amount of charges he has (imagine like potentially 25 concussion charges when zof has like 2) . Make it just slow down the enemies / prevent sprinting for brief moments would be enough. That will buff vertical play and put sledge at unique positions. For thorn, instead of blood trail, why not just like few pings of their location , giving the defender some intel to attacker's position

    I feel like the sledge concussion should be added as a charge up swing so you aren't accidentally stunning your teammates opening up rotates, that way its way more intentional and takes a little longer than just a normal breach?

    Thorn is Goated as a roamer, also vert. She doesn’t have a high skill cap. But it does take some strategy to use her traps effectively.

    Sledge idea is interesting, but in this stage of the game would be a waste of resources, bringing the smg11 back to his loadout would be just enough to glow him up. Or, give his L85 an extended barrel to match the dps of Buck and Ram rifle if Ubi feel a little mischievous

    I agree that the frost effect is really cool, but I’m not sure I would want this on too many other operators. Cc is not something you really want too much of, and the community already doesn’t like status effects that much (Ela mines and echo concuss getting nerfed). I think the only reason it works for frost is because otherwise you’d be dead to rights already, so it’s better than that.

    Sledge imo doesn't need a rework but rather his SMG-11 back, after so much nerfing I think he deserves it and he wouldn't feel OP at all, being basically the only attacker aside from a Amaru with a Shotgun+SMG viable combo. They nerfed Sledge to a 1 speed, not bad but a nerf still, they nerfed the nades indirectly nerfing him too, not a bad nerf but still a nerf, all these soft nerfs together make him weaker. They also added Ram who basically "stole his job" (inderect nerf again). I still think Sledge skill is different enough from Ram to keep his gadget intact and it has enough advantages over Buck's and Ram's gadgets but then a buff to his weaponry might just fix the problem.

    I have seen a thorn trap work once in standard, i was Monty, and i was with a thermite on Lair, we were breaching upstairs to get to bombsite through connector and electrical, and there was a thorn trap outside neither of us noticed, i had extended my shield as the thermite charge was going off, and as the thermite charge exploded the thorn went off too, and killed thermite and I.

    I actually love both these ideas but truly sledge has suffered so much from becoming a 1 speed. My only counter to the thorn rework is to give her two “bundles” of 3 thorn traps- effectively becoming 6 traps in groups of 2. Each bundle will detonate at the same time so you can actually place them near eachother and the solution for attackers is to do more than just break LoS. However if an attacker shoots even one of the traps when the detonation timer begins, all of the traps reset to the original timer meaning that attackers can still get away but a detonation is far more likely and likely to kill

    Without watching the entire video, I wanna go ahead and say Sledge being reworked to some extent like this would be good but maybe instead of comparing the dmg debuff to frost compare it to lesion so each set of debris dmg would be about 14 and give an audio cue from the defender such as a grunt or groan signaling to other attackers in that defenders area where to look and instead of a blood trail like frost it would be a blood spatter where the defender was standing so other attackers could say okay if someone was there they would try to rotate to one of these locations and it would make for a smoother rework to any operator that can cause downward falling debris

    For thorn you make detonation time faster give her 4 razerblooms make them bullet proof till activated also make a short 1 or 2 second animation pulling 2 or 3 thorns out of your body give slower speed when not pulled out but reduce damage to 55 reduce radius to 3.5 meters and make razerblooms bigger/easier to shoot. Would that be to op?

    My Thorn concept:
    Instead of a detonation time, the thorn immediately detonates attaching the attackers body, but not dealing any damage. When attached, the thorn timer will start and the attacker will have to pull it off their body like a lesion mine. The detonation timer I say would be around 8 seconds and continues when the attacker is pulling the mine off (Which would take around 3 seconds). This makes her more lethal and punishes players who would usually just run from the mine when they hear the thorn.

    Buck is still better than the rework idea. And it makes more sense. Sledge would have to hit the ground so hard to propel the “shrapnel” downward that he’d cave the floor in. Lie you said it’s a video game but, still. And sledges thing is sledge. He’s a man with a hammer. That’s his thing, and I like the simplicity

    Fairley good as a secondary soft breacher (is not good) but is outclassed as a main Softbreacher for a few resons , he is the best "quiet" soft breacher.

    it would make him a bit better but he wouldnt get played all too different also just say its a buff

    good if youre smart and use youre shield to garantie a trap kill or too make them run into you where youre hiding with one of the best shotguns in the game
    thorns better than people say if youre smart and dont just run in and die.
    youre rework would make thorn argubley worse actulle shes unque in the same way kapkan is
    her gadget KILLS
    that is one of the main resons you should pick her
    honestly a good buff would be id her gadget is unactive it would be able to be destroyed
    BUT if you activate it then its not breakeable

    Ok cool ideas but with giving sledge that power you basically nerf zofia into the ground. And that's a problem we will have going forward a lot and why ubisoft is never going to implement such changes. We got too many operators that are often very similar in what they are doing and if one gets buffed the other loses player interests.
    This idea sounds more of an idea for an event mode as it makes sledge really strong on his own.
    Thorn idea is cool tho :)

    I think sledge is fine you can destroy bulletproof gadgets , barbed wire, castle and making vert which makes him better than buck and ram in some situations

    Here's a thorn trap buff decrease it's detonation range and increase it's detonation time like a little bit shorter
    Because the detonation range is equivalent to the size of Europe and the detonation time is also equivalent to half a century Think about it it'll work better then what it is now

    sledge should be able to smash through a mira instantly and knock them back, same with if somebody is behind a wall. whenever i use sledge i open a wall that somebody is standing on and they kill me before i pull my gun up

    Make sledge a 2 speed 2 armor, double his sledge uses or give him infinite uses of it, make it .25/.33m longer to give slightly longer range

    I don't think this would make it a good Thorn rework.
    Personally, I like thorn, with the only real issue I have being her guns. (The secondaries are ok, though not my favorites, but I don't like either of her primaries.)
    If you want to adjust her razor blooms then I'd only change it so you can't destroy them by shooting at them. Gonne-6, soft- and hard breaches obviously break it but having it only be destructible by shooting when activated or not at all would provide a unique kind of trap to deal with.
    Getting rid of it would mean either taking the risk of going in and shooting it (if you know where it is already) or letting it go off which could alert the defenders.
    Maybe also introduce that the timer on the razor blooms only works when someone is in it's vicinity and that it stops again once it no longer detects an opponent (obviously restarting when it starts off again)

    thorn rework: what if her rasorblooms could insta hit, and it would shoot needles out, they would damage based on range and u would be slowed and u could pull them out, the more needles that hit u, the longer the pullout animation is

    I mained sledge until he lost the smg-11.
    Now when I came back he was a 1 speed, and frags aren't cookable.
    But I never understood the logic behind the nerf. Whoever though to themselves "Yeah sledge is too OP take away the smg-11"???????
