My Long Distance Relationship In The Philippines Cost Me 12 Million Pesos

  • A subscriber has invested 12 Million pesos in a Filipina that he is not married to or has children with. He has violated the First Rule of investing here - when you have no skins in the game do not invest large sums of money. He wants me to tell his story in hopes that it might help someone. I doubt that it will because this story of a foreigner investing his life savings with a woman he met online here is all too common. Thanks for watching!

My mother used to tell me "a fool and his money are soon parted". I'm in the UK and I dated a girl I met in Guyana and she was a really lovely, 2018 I went there for a month and the following year she flew on her own money to UK. To this day I still keep in contact and I send her some money on her birthdays (it's 217 guyana dollars to a pound). What I'm trying to say is I am always attracted to a woman with work ethics, she could be a cleaner, a house keeper, a waitress and nurse I don't care. Thanks Calvin for giving these guys a cold reality slap around the face, love the channel

In boating they say never approach a dock (or anything) at a speed that you are not willing to hit it at. When sending/spending money on someone like this never send/spend more than you are willing to lose.

It’s an American from San Francisco area. I don’t feel sorry for any man that sends that much without going to the PH first . Meet first then see if it’s marriage material. No good Filipina will take that much if she has good intentions.

Thanks Calvin, for d reminder. Have seen n heard a no of such cases. It happened to me 2004, but on biz investment. Trusted an old friend, l met in Cebu 1995, whilst on 6 mos vacation. He was a pharma salesman later 2002 met him again Manila.used him as proxy on biz deals.. Cut it short, he fleeced me tens of millions. Well , l have since left Philippines and retired in my country. It was a wrong judgement call, despite my wife's reluctance, l invested.
As u said, in RTIA show u can watched many such incidents. Couples /husband n wife washing their dirty linen on air, worldwide at d expense of their families, siblings and even children being trolled and maligned.. Coz of one's rash plain ignorance. Some termed it as plain stupidity. I would like to believe it as being gullible, emotional blunders.. (comes to love, sometimes its hard to fully understand.

Hey Bro 😂loved you story today preacher! Always telling it like it is. And your absolutely right! I’m in Makati and bought my girl a 19,999 peso Oppo phone. She hasn’t had a new phone ever and she cried in appreciation. To be honest with the exchange, it was $324!! And it came loaded with case, charger, extra headset, wireless headset, everything. So I pace myself. Told her this was an early Christmas present because she needed it. And left it at that. But grateful as all get out. You speak the truth Calvin. We tend to want to spoil them and for us it’s cheap and easy. But for the average Filipina it’s a God send. Pace your self fellas. Listen to Calvin. Don’t try to impress them with all your money they not used to. Some will and others won’t see the true value of your hard earn money.

$250,000? My online courtship lasted 3 months before I decided to get my plane ticket. I gave her maybe $1,000, but I could see everything it was spent on like a/c, windows, roof repair. i was divorced for 5 years and she was a widower of 3 years. She had three kids. It was the best time of my life. I went back home and started the Fiancé Visa process. Within one year they were here. My oldest daughter has been in the Navy since August 2012 and was accepted to dental school paid for by the navy. Our son is in IT. Our youngest daughter is a nurse. I have a biological son, 36 and a nurse. I agree about too much money. If you have that kind of cash, forget about the online courtship. Travel there and see who she truly is. You will find out very quickly who she is.

There was a guy down in Mindanao that built a house on land he bought and then leased from his Filipina. Later they broke up and he stayed in the house, eventually hooking up with a new girl. Next thing you know they were driving down the road when a two man motorbike pulls up next to them and shoots him in the face, then chased the girl into the trees and put a bullet in her head as well. I would say don’t invest in anything you aren’t willing to completely walk away from, even changing islands

If people don’t think they deserve something, the discomfort will have them subconsciously - SUB consciously- self-sabotage until they get to their familiar lifestyle level. Brother, you make some good points that work no matter what nationality the partner is, but I think you are underestimating Marilyn’s moral compass and her level of frugality which comes from being happy with less. I was married to an Asian woman for 30 years, and her frugality never changed. When I would buy her something she thought was too expensive, she would say I was wasting money. She liked quality, but not quantity. So she would appreciate a nice bag, or pair of shoes, etc. which would last her for years, and she would not want more than what she needed. I think most Asian women are this way, and the gold diggers we hear about are by far a minority. Peace.

Hahahaha you are falling for the long scam. She will not ask for “big ticket “ purchases up front or even a small amount of money. She might even get so called “angry” 😂🤣if you offer to give money or buy her anything thing of value.
This strategy is to allow the silly foreigner to earn her trust…..then when you think you have a “winner” non gold digger …..you will break down your “red flag” senses and start investing in the girl.
Again for the silly guys in the back of the room…..These Filipinas don’t always ask for money upfront…..some are patient, and wait until she is convinced you think she is a kind and caring “sweetheart “ then she will put her plan into action.

Calvin...more times than often when a man get hooked up and scammed by a ugly lady from overseas and on line that he never seen in person.... Mostly are men that is socially awkward and not use to being around beautiful ladies...Men are very visual by nature and usually date upward on the beauty scale... Now a man can be ugly himself and work hard and earn money but it doesn't guarantee that he will be " wise " with it. It seems that a lady from a foreign country seems exotic to certain guys and for that reason they will date down on the beauty scale and do things that they would ( never ) do in their home country.... It is crazy my friend but I see it more times than often....And when things go bad 😔 these guys cry- out... saying ( I got skammed ) ...And when you see a picture of these ladies, The guys will say..( Put the word out but didn't tell the people that it was me ). Or don't use my name... LOL 😆.. Never have I seen a guy that have had " many " beautiful ladies in his life get skammed by a ugly lady...Men by nature are visual and have a tendency to date up in the looks department... Love your channel and keep up the good work.

It's fine to start online but there must be boundaries. And if both people really are in love and not just infatuation then at a certain point in time the two people must meet. In person you really get to know each other for real. Like you said skin invested in the game. There's no getting around that. Online is fine but that's only a starting point. And I really don't believe in giving a large sums of money by knowing someone only online. I will help my girlfriend with data and things like that because she uses a lot of data to talk to me which I appreciate. But other than that I really limit those things. Once we meet in person and it's for real for real then that may change. This is some great advice. Thank you so much

Just be careful over there. Just don't give all your money and don't trust fully over your relationship there . Just be very careful. Materialistic is a big mistake over there and never have experience to hard work. Working hard and earned your own money is very important.

Duh! Just a tiny cents worth of advice, tell your friend to stop being a crybaby and face reality. He made that decision so he better face up to it. Also, STOP blaming Filipina ladies. It HAPPENS around the WORLD. $200k IS NOTHING. iF HE MARRIED A US OR AUSTRALIAN CITIZEN, and they get married AND GET A DIVORCE AFTER, HE'D BE WORSE OFF! So better man up bro! You wanted to do that so FACE THE CONSEQUENCE.

In this car crash of a story I had reason to laugh not at the guy who lost the 200k USD. Not at you. But the amazement in your voice when you sais 11 million pesos AND SHE WAS UGLY 😂😂EPIC!
Like you said you invested $35,000 in your home. The guy you spoke about invested $200,000.
He probably could have invested $35,000 lost it been pissed but put it down as a learning experience and got on with his life.
What the woman looks like, to me, isn't important.
The amount of money you lose isn't as important $500 or $50,000 it's money YOU worked for.If you find yourself in that situation I guess the reality of your own actions (WTF have I done) prevent you from wanting to go public. Why? Look at your vlog about the American in distress some people couldn't wait to scream "IT'S A SCAM"
Imagine the reaction this guy is going to face from his family, friends and anyone bored or disappointed with their own life and having access to the internet!
I hope he manages to recover some of his life savings. But if she's aquadered it he can't recover what she doesn't have.
For a message that's been repeated over and over on dozens of channels Common Sense still seems to evaporate.
I doubt that this will be the last time you or anyone else will be repeating the warnings!
On a more positive note. If this vlog saves just ONE viewer from losing his savings then it's worthwhile.
GO BOOTS ON THE GROUND 😊😉

True when I was married I kinda did the same but I was in the Philippines during construction of the home. But in the end I lost it she got it. But she was a nurse worked in Sadi sent all her money to her family 10 years later when we got together I asked her what do you have to show. She paid for two brothers and one sister collage her father a lot 2 brother a lot and a sister a lot. So I ask her what do you have nothing. I sent her 5000 USA dollar for traveling to USA just in case there was an issue traveling to USA on k1 visa just in case she needed to book a flight if she missies her flight in another country for emergency. That was my clue she gave it to her dad before she left and told me he took it . But I believed her 7 years latter she gets green card and gone. I too got taken never would I bring to USA just stay in the Philippines if I get a do over. I love the Philippines hopefully I make a new life there still love the culture just want a happy life on my small 1200 a month lol .

I would advise guys to only invest with your wife only. 1st thing that you do is get a lawyer. 2nd thing is to form a corporation. 3rd All money that is going to be spent that belong to you goes to the Corp as a loan. Your lawyer will handle the paper work and handle your lien. This will protect your investment in land and anything that you build. It belongs to the Corp not her. Come on guys you have to think just like you would if you where at home! Talk to your lawyer. He can explain things better than I can. I think this would of been a good live show with a lawyer Calvin. It would be very educational.

Calvin can you do a vid on why so many foreigners get with pinay who are not good lookers and often single mothers too. I hear this a lot and seen it in the philipines with my own eyes. I have my theories but I’d like to hear your views. Pinoy guys apparently say we leave all the good looking ones for them. Obviously there are exceptions to this but it does seem often true.

Perhaps I am a little jaded but it always makes me wonder when I see some of the pictures posted by these old guys bragging about their beautiful Filipina girlfriends and I am thinking, "Are you blind." I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and some guy who can't get a date here in the West might think that ~any~ Filipina girl who would want him is going to view her as a salvation for him. But, yeah, objectively speaking only about one out of ten are really that nice looking. The others range from ordinary to fairly plain. Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course. True love triumphs all. 🤣🤣

you guys are careful out there, especially meeting girls online cuz there's some few scammers out there ..... imagine that,my filipino cousin (who is 30 years old that time) who lives in nyc but was born & raised in the philippines got even victimized by a his filipina girlfriend ..... analyze it my dudes, he's young & knows the in & out of all things of the philippines, speak 2 filipino languages, but still got fooled ........ that's why,i will never advice any foreigner to meet girls on dating site cuz most girls (unfortunately) are just dating for money ......y dudes, just be patient & socialize on facebook or instagram like what filipino does .....
