You could just feel the love Cody and Olivia have for Joel. Such sweet and thoughtful kids to worry about their dad and do what they can to help him. We need kids like that in this world who will grow into sweet and upstanding adults! 💗

I’m so proud of the kids backpacking. The way Olivia & Cody took items so Joel wouldn’t have to carry them in his pack was such a loving expression. Exposure to experiences like this, difficult experiences like this, are very important IMO when it comes to helping build resilience in children. It teaches kids & adults alike what they’re really made of. It’s a huge confidence boost for them. My husband & I did a 37 mile trip together & it taught us so much about ourselves & one another. OK now regarding Boston being unsure which is the washer…Bonnie, you must give him some remediation in this area. 🤣🤣🤣 He’s a doll either way, though.
Hammocks are colder to sleep in because the cool air surrounds you where as sleeping on the ground one side of you keeps heat from escaping 😊

Last time I went to Bloomington lake was with a YSA ward for our church and one of my friends was doing the rope swing and their was a accident that happened and she let go to soon. And ended up breaking her back and my friends had to Carie her half way and then Iflight came.
It was a very scary experience but she is living her best life.
So I'm very grateful you kids were safe and knew to let go.

You both should and I know are so proud of your kids! It was so emotional to me to see Cody and Olivia telling Joel that he had too much to carry and they were going to take stuff out of his pack to carry, over his insistence he was ok. Did Joel say “Happy Birthday Olivia”? If so, Happy Birthday Olivia! It doesn’t surprise me in the least that Cody could use that Mongolian Rock Sling overhand because, Cody is one amazing ATHLETE! Also, I was cracking up at the toothbrush cheers!

I’m just curious - with this camping trip you just went on Joel with Olivia & Kody, was there a reason that Boston & Lincoln didn’t go (like was it they had to be a certain age, or was it simply because they didn’t want to go?). It looks like it was a Young Men and Young Women coed camping trip through their church. Boston and Lincoln wouldn't be old enough to go on the trip yet.
