    When my daughters were young, in the mid ‘80s’ I knit them so many sweaters and many of them I embroidered on, daisies on the shoulkers and around the neck, puppies, kittens resting on sleeves. They loved them and I always thought little details add so much to the project... love you , you are the sweetest and love the channel.. ❤️🥰🇨🇦

    Took me right back to the 60s when we embroidered on our jeans, overalls and jackets and pretty much everything !! I still have some of those pieces as keepsakes. Embroidery on knitting would make it so special. First I have to learn how to knit the sweater. 😆. Thank you for creative ideas and beautiful patterns!! 🧶💕🧶

    Hi Chandi. What a wonderful idea! I have never embroidered on knitting. Thanks so much for this wonderful tutorial! Embroidery is so beautiful and really enhances the sweater although the sweater is great on its own too. I have a sweater I am finishing or hope to one of these days and I may try embroidering on it. It’s mostly stockinette. Thanks also for this lovely pattern! Have a wonderful long weekend!!💞

      @@tacobelljunkie8418 hand wash the embroidery floss, squeeze out excess water and hang to dry. See how much dye bleeds thru with the washing. Some colours, like red, are more prone to bleeding. Hope this clarifies things.

    Beautiful sweater and great idea to add embroidery to embellish it. For new embroiderers I think it would have been helpful to have you use the pen you recommended at the beginning to draw lines, circles, etc. Drawing on your knitted work can be extremely intimidating…

    I have a beautiful baby sweater, hat and bootie pattern set. It’s a lovely set that contains a picot edging and small rose buds that you embroider around the hem and cuff. It wasn’t recommended, but I used a sharp needle and beading foundation behind the fabric. It prevents stretching and puckering. I used the thinnest foundation I could find so it wouldn’t be too stiff. It made such a difference and I drew the pattern in a washable ink pen. The knitted fabric was made using a white fingering weight yarn so I was able to lightly see the design beneath it

    If you don’t want a big ole chunky knot rubbing against your skin, my mom always just left a longer tail of yarn and tied it in like you would any tail end of yarn. Then it is much smoother to wear. There is really no need for a typical embroidery knot in your clothing using yarn.

    So at first you pulled the needle thru the middle of a stitch, then later thru the holes around the stitch. What is the reason for each? Thanks

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, yes, you pull the needle through the middle of a thread to secure the beginning knot. Later you can pull it through the holes because the thread is already secured. I hope this answers your question! 💛
