    So excited to do this one! I finally received my yarn for it yesterday, so I was checking back to remind myself of how to work the stitches! I fell so much in love with this shawl when it was first released. Funnily enough, I saw the yarn the night before the pattern release, and not realising that a pattern using this base was coming out the next day, I was dreaming of all the potential combinations of the yarn one could use. This identical combination was the one that immediately stood out to me as my favourite. Something about it reminds me of a bright, beautiful spring day from my youth. Not something I can put my finger on exactly, but it warms my heart and fills it with joy. Thank you! 💝

      @@ExpressionFiberArts Awe, thank you! I might actually put this one on my Ravelry! I actually got yarn enough to make two so that I could make one for my sister as well! She loves all things ocean-y, so I picked out blues and sandy/white colours for hers! Very excited to see how that one looks 😃💕

    I never learnt how to knit and to be honest I never had any interest in learning. My craft of choice is crochet. But then I discovered this channel and started seeing all these beautiful, exquisite creations and I was sad that I didn’t know how to do them so I bought a pair of needles and I’m slowly learning how to knit. I have no idea when and if I’ll ever be able to create something as wonderful as this shawl but I’m enjoying the learning process. So thank you Chandi. You have definitely inspired me! ❤

    Thank you for video really helped
    I am confused with pattern, cast on 19sts did rows as they came, I am using one colour only
    But transition A - Lattice row 3 when I noticed stitch count i am no where near that
    Any idea what I am doing wrong

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Did you count your stitches at the end of each RS set up row to get a sense of whether some rows had the correct stitch count? Without knowing how many stitches off you are, my guess is that you've either overlooked a yo or the kfb or pbkf. If you have fewer stitches then you need, one of these increases is probably the issue.

    Watching you knit this brings up a question for you. When you purl, you bring the yarn UNDER the needle. Yet when I purl, and in any place I’ve looked on the Internet, I see that you bring the yarn counterclockwise OVER the top of the needle (and, like you, I do knit continental style).

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Mikki, thank you for your comment. I'm not entirely sure which purl stitches you mean. I watched the video and all the purls I encountered were worked with the yarn wrapped counter-clockwise over the needle. Can you let me know in which part of the tutorial you see them worked the other way around? Thanks and have a nice weekend. 😊

    • @mikkiwachtel2870

      @@ExpressionFiberArts I am so sorry, Chandi. I think what had me looking at this cockeyed is that you hold your yarn differently than I do. You have your fingers positioned so that they are below the left needle…I hold the yarn above the left needle. So it was just a positional thing. Please accept my apology.

    Frühling is German and it actually means spring. So is it really about the shifting colors I. fall or rather the new colors that come in spring?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From the designer: "Frühling is German for “spring,” and I chose the name because “spring” is this shawl’s primary characteristic. The colors actually remind me of the colors of a typical, early fall day in Indiana where I live - the white puffy clouds, the blue sky, the fading green of the trees, and the deep yellow of drying crops in the fields. However, it is actually the texture of the Lattice Lace that inspired this shawl’s name. I love the way this stitch pattern seems fairly ordinary while it’s being worked, but it magically “springs” open to a surprising degree when it’s blocked."
