- Hello, my beautiful blossom! I hope you're having an AMAZING day and are feeling happy and hopeful! Today, I am SO EXCITED to share with you a brand new knitting pattern, which is FABULOUS, but it's also the first part of our 3-part Learn to Knit Brioche series! Yay!
We've had so many requests over the years for Brioche knitting patterns and tutorials, and I am just tickled pink to finally be able to offer them to you! Today's pattern is the Jeanne unisex accessory trio, which includes a knitted scarf, cowl, and hat.
In this video, I show you how to work single-color basic Brioche knitting, both flat and in the round, as well as how to work the basic Double Brioche stitch. To really get the most out of this sequential series, you'll want to complete the patterns in the order that they're released because the skills will build on each other. You can also head over to and follow our Learn to Knit Brioche Ravelry thread for additional help and support: www.ravelry.com/discuss/expre...
Download Jeanne at www.expressionfiberarts.com/p...
The Jeanne trio is considered an Adventurous Beginner to Intermediate pattern for the scarf. Experience working in the round is recommended for the cowl. In addition to having experience working in the round, at least one Brioche project should be completed before making the hat.
If this is your first Brioche project, begin with the scarf. An option for inserting blocks of Double Brioche is provided. Once you have mastered the stitches and are comfortable with working in the round, give the cowl a try. Although the hat is a little more advanced, with your new Brioche skills, this will be a great addition to your set
The Jeanne trio uses our Enduring Worsted yarn. It's a soft and tightly spun yarn with a nice, tight twist that results in beautiful, defined stitches and projects that will hold up well! This yarn is a blend of 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Nylon. Four skeins of Enduring Worsted are needed for all three accessories: 2 skeins needed for scarf, 1 skein needed for both the cowl and hat.

Our colors come and go quickly, so be sure to purchase all you will need for your project.

Oh I love your jumper!!!!!! Hmmm... I may knit/crohcet a tunic jumper 🥰
LOL! It's such a fun technique, but definitely requires a bit more attention. Enjoy!

Another tantalizing project, 3 of them! Ooooh and ahhhhh! These gorgeous items will have to wait to live in my home as I need to weave in the ends of the Lady Eve and I will be free to start the Mysa Wrap!!!! So excited. The Lady Eve is beyond luscious and it's going to be hard to give it away, I'll just have to borrow it! Or make another! Anyways, Chandi, I hope you have yourself a gorgeous day filled with love and new dreams!
So happy you enjoy our patterns so much! Have fun making Mysa and Jeanne soon. Have a great weekend!
❤️
I've never wanted to brioche, because I've only seen 2 color.... This is so simple!!
So glad we were able to show you another Brioche style. Enjoy! 💕

Hi Chandi, this looks like it will be a challenge but a fun one to try. You give great tips and motivate me to try to recreat your breathtaking projects. Thanks love Have a wonderful weekend 😘
You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it, and think you can totally do it! Hope you have a great weekend, too!
ONG, I am so happy, I will be learning how to brioche. I have been looking at Stephen West and was wondering how I can learn how to do Brioche. I can't wait to try this method. Thank you Chandi and Jane Vanselous for coming up with this great pattern.
You are so welcome! 🥰
Cannot wait till next week. Love this brioche is something I've wanted to learn but was very weary of
You can do it! Have fun with it, too!
Ok! I have a skein of your ENDURING WORSTED yarn and now I know what I can tackle! 🥰🥰
Awesome! Have fun!
Hi Chandi! Happy Friday! I love Brioche! This series is such a great idea! I’m currently working on a brioche shawl. I’ve never done double brioche! It looks so pretty! Can’t wait to try it! Thanks for another wonderful tutorial! Have a wonderful weekend!💞
Wonderful, that we showed you something new. Thank you, you as well! 💕
This has been a" want to" of mine for a very long time! Thank you so much! I have had a fear of learning how because I have heard that it is hard and confusing. You make it look fearless and not hard. I will be giving this a try for sure. I really can not thank you enough for all the the patterns you give to us and for making sure beautiful yarn to go with the patterns. You are do talented. Hugs and best wishes always. Have a wonderful fall weekend.
Aww, thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoy our tutorials and patterns. ❤️
Chandi, Thank you for the tutorial.
My preferred method of knitting is to have my stitches in an Eastern Mount (the leading leg is on the back of the needle). Recently, I have been forcing myself to relearn to knit with a Western Mount stitch so I can do a project with Brioche sections in it. Your clear tutorial and the projects provided make me believe that I will be able to get it figured out.
I’m looking forward to the additional tutorials.
Oh, I'm so happy to hear that! I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you🌺
You’re welcome 😊
Beautiful
Thank you!
Bellissimo Chandi 😀complimenti 🌺🌺
💕💕💕
Thank you for showing also knitting english style. I like your videos very much, i understand a lot about knits and purls continental, but sometimes it is very difficutl to "translate" YO in english style. So, thank you again for this helpful demonstration
You are so welcome 😊
Thank you Beautiful 😍
You are so welcome!
Oooo looks very complicated for me. I have not been lucky to knit. Crochet like a pro I can. Knitting isn’t for me. I’d drop stitches and get flustered. Beautiful work and looks pretty. Blessings.
I'm happy you like it.
Vielen dank,🦋💓
Gerne! 🥰
Thank you. I had forgotten how to do the honeycomb!
My pleasure!
When does come the cowl out? Its getting cold here. Thanks, So beautiful and not so hard to do, since you explained it so eventually well❣️
Hi Ewa, we have the next Brioche pattern coming not this Friday but the next. Glad you liked our tutorial. Hope you'll enjoy the next one as well. 💕
EXCEPTIONAL not eventually 🤪 autocorrect mistake! I look forward to the next tutorial, always lifts my mood, when i see you Chandi❣️🤩
Dang, I am traveling and don't have my knitting stuff with me. Will have to catch up when I get back home.
There's no hurry. You can complete the series at your leisure. Enjoy your trip!
You make this look so easy! I never heard of brioche knitting, but it looks gorgeous, so I’ll give it a try. Thanks for sharing! By the way, I have not knit in the round before. What do you suggest as an introductory pattern before I dive into the brioche cowl and hat? Thanks!
Glad you want to give Brioche a try. If you haven't worked in the round before I'd say try to make a simple hat first just to get use it, although you'll realize quickly it's simple. Here is a tutorial to our Basic Beanie Hat: th-cam.com/video/V-QXH1sgU4w/w-d-xo.html
I hope this is helpful and I'm sure you'll be knitting in. brioche in no time! Have a nice weekend! 💕
@@ExpressionFiberArts thanks for the info! Have a great weekend!
I love bravo👍👏🌺
💕💕💕
oops! I had only part watched your video then! I see you have shown the english style version too! Thx!😊
You're very welcome! 😊
@@ExpressionFiberArts I tried the scarf pattern with 2 different types of yarns and 4.5 mm and 5.00 mm needles.
I'm facing problems at the end of the rows. Sometimes I land up with more than 1 stich at the end. It became messy and I had to unravel each time!
I do English style so please can you do at least six rows in English style starting with the set up row so it's clearer?
Thx!
احببت كثيراً 🌼🏵️🌹🏵️🌼
Thank you!
I'm excited to try this one!! Question, will there be an option to do this with 2 color Brioche?
Hi Darlene, thank you for your comment. The tutorial series on Brioche will include 2-color brioche, we just haven't set the release date for it yet. 😊
@@ExpressionFiberArts thank you how exciting I'll practice with this one first 😊
When is the next part coming out? I am really interested in two-color Brioche.
Hi there, thank you for your comment.
Unfortunately, the release of the 2-color brioche pattern has not been scheduled yet so I can't give you an answers on it. I'm very sorry about that. Have a wonderful day! 💕
Thank you for your work, my mother used to do this stitch but i never did, now IS the Time to learn it.
By the way it may seem like a strange question but: have you done modelling photos?
because you remind me of a young woman who was a model in her 20's... maybe not you seem very young.
You're very welcome! I hope you enjoy learning brioche. As for your other question, no I haven't worked as a model.
@@ExpressionFiberArts sorry for my mistake, and thank you again for all the work you give us for free

Thanks!
Hello Chandi.
Is it possible for you to show Brioche in English style knitting?
I am not able to follow yarn overs in continental style as I do English style.
Hi there, I think later in the video, Chandi is showing how to do it in English style as well. Enjoy! 💕
When will send the second series for brioche knitting
The second part of the brioche course dropped a week ago. Here is the link to the tutorial (th-cam.com/video/MTHInem1pUk/w-d-xo.html) and the pattern Josephine (www.expressionfiberarts.com/products/josephine.html).
Enjoy! 💕
Where are parts 2 & 3?
I'm looking forward to the next lessons!
We are working on Part 2 now and it will be released in a couple of weeks. :)
Dictado en español el tutorial por favor
Try this trick. Turn on closed captions, and click on the Settings (the gear icon). Choose Subtitles/CC and to the right of that there is a language option. Use that to select Auto-Translate, and then choose Spanish. TH-cam will automatically translate the closed captions for you.
Chandi, on row 93, when you do the brioche knit after the last slip marker, does the yarnover sort of unwind and is sort of like a long float? 12:29
Hi there, thank you for your question. I'm happy to help.
The yarnover might be a bit longer/lumpier than the others because it was next to a marker but you should be able to work the brk normally with it and it should straighten out during blocking.
I hope this answers your question. Have a great day! 💜
I am really doing the cowl. It is rnd 21 after the warning. The BRK unwinds the yarn over for me. Thanks, Chandi for your help!
Excuse me oops….the word should have been speed!
No worries! 😉
Sorry I am having issues anyone else
Hi Kim, I'm happy to help.
What exactly is the issue?
