There’s a big difference between sleep and rest. You can rest for a couple hours and be productive the next day you can sleep and it not be restful for 8 to 10 hours and still wake up tired/cranky.

Especially for tests, the later it gets, the more difficult the concepts are to understand. I was studying for a calculus test with my friend a quarter or two ago and it was around 11:00 (test was the next day). Nothing was making any sense. I went to bed, woke up a little earlier, and boom: I could understand it.

As a fellow neurodivergent i can fully agree with Elon Musk. Too few sleep makes you inefficient and is counterproductive. To be mentally stable i found that i also need 6.5-7 hours of sleep. When i sleep too few i can be mentally very tired. When i sleep too much, im feeling "sleep drunk" and too lazy.
Same way, i experimented with my sleep and found my threshold(minimum) sleep hours to be 8 hours. Now , i dont struggle for sleep and waking up early is easy cause i know exactly how many hours of sleep my body and mind needs. Peace.
