Samoyeds don't tend to be aggressive. I've had many of these dogs. They are vocal, but not dangerous. They are also not an easy dog to own. Despite their beauty and cuteness, the amount of work in keeping up that coat is very considerable. A PROPER owner will spend an hour every week just raking out the coat. They shed incredible amounts, so you have to be pretty consistent with a vacuum cleaner. I used to foster for these dogs, people would get them because of how adorable they were, but they are a lot of work, and normal people would get over-whelmed. I'm not normal at all. If YOU cannot groom a Samoyed yourself, don't get one. I don't think she should have cut ANY hair except on the pads, and the butt, that's it. Samoyeds have what are called guard hairs, and if they take FOREVER to grow back, guard hairs are HAIR not fur. The guard hairs are very rough and help keep their coat clean, even at their feet. Pads have to be cut if they are on smooth surfaces, because they will slip and slide otherwise. Their coat knots up easily as well, you have to comb them out regularly. Some people do it practically everyday. Behind the ears especially. They are wonderful dogs, but don't underestimate the commitment of having one. These dogs are WORK. I recently did dog sitting for a GSD, and some training. Compared to my Samoyeds that I've had, that was CAKE. Easy to bathe, easy to comb out, smarter than a Samoyed, almost as needy as one. This is a REALLY good boy but lets also take a minute to acknowledge a good owner! Keeps his coat in good shape which is saying A LOT for a samoyed, exercises him, trains him with regard to barking and behaving, what a great dog and owner.
It's important to note that not all Samoyeds are perfectly white. They often are slightly off-white. Sorta like cream or even more than that in certain parts of their coat like their ears.
My grandparents had a Samoyed when I was a kid. They named him Buttons, as when he was clean he was literally snow-white - when they lived in Michigan and the dog was out in the yard, he vanished against snow so well that only his eyes and nose were visible, and they looked like big buttons on a dog-shaped snowman. He was the floofiest cloud, as are all sammies...

At 11:34 you can see him leaning into the blow dryer. He's enjoying it. My sam is the same way (tries to run in front of the leaf blower every time I use it).
Sammys were bred to be cuddlers, they were a bit closer with their humans than most sled dogs, they would sleep with their humans to keep people warm, it's why they are so friendly.
aside from your bizarre insinuations, Samoyeds are not Inuit dogs; they're eastern Siberian dogs, bred for 7000 years by the Nenet people@@Witchhouseexotic
@JuggoJuggo Omg so you mean to tell me that not only do they look like a big fluffy pillow, but that's literally what they were bred to be in the first place.. I love that so much.
Their undercoat brushings will spin up into a wonderful soft fluffy yarn, a bit like angora fibre from a rabbit. I'm a handspinner and a friend owns eleven (!) Samoyeds, she gave me half a bin bag of undercoat when her dogs were blowing their winter coat and I spun her up enough yarn for a hat and scarf. Funnily enough once you've washed it well Samoyed yarn doesn't smell of wet dog if you get it wet again, or at least I or other humans can't smell it. My cats could always tell if I showed them the Samoyed sample yarn though.
Samoyed fur was actually designed that way. They were bred originally for several purposes....as a livestock (reindeer) and human guardian, as a companion animal....they were bred to literally lay across their humans to comfort them and keep them warm, and their fluffy soft hypoallergenic fur was not only designed to be comfortable to cuddle as the dog lays on you, but native tribes where Samoyeds originated actually harvested their fur to make blankets, socks, and clothing as well.
What a well behaved dog. Even when clearly unhappy about the nail trim he hardly put up a fight or commotion. Clearly all the running with his owner he gets plenty of socialization and it shows. He looks great after the groom, well done as always.
@@xDamage69 Obedient? HAHAHA. I used to foster for these dogs, I've had a ton. I wouldn't call them obedient. They are very nice, well behaved, affectionate, but I would never call them well behaved. Stubborn more comes to mind. They are sweet dogs but they definitely have a will of their own.
@@mimuiao Umm, I'd almost agree with you, but they are certainly better than cats in my opinion. But yes, they are kind of cat-like in their personality. Me: "Hey, let's cuddle!" Samoyed: "NO!" Well, end of conversation.
Don't forget that even though a Samoyed is a great running partner this only applies when it is cold enough. In warmer areas keep an eye out for excessive panting and try to focus on cooler times of the day. (There is pretty much no temperature that is too cold for a Samoyed.)
Average temp in California is 58. So I’m thinking the dog would be ok. But if they lived in Texas as I do. Heat could be a huge issue for this breed. Just my two cents.
What a gorgeous dog! My Canadian aunt had a Samoyed, which used to wipe its paws on the doormat when it came inside. It was a lot better behaved than the kids!
19:20 The way he seemed to be VERY faintly nodding like a modeling assistant while you explained why you put your table against the wall just SLAYED me. I don't know why, but I laughed until my eyes watered!
Years ago I wanted a Samoyed really bad. Then I realized how much work was involved in their coats and how energetic they were. I ended up rescuing 5 golden retrievers from an Amish puppy mill........and I kept them all!! Huge vet bills but I fell deeply in love with them all.
@@anaderol5408 but you can tire out the retrievers far more easily! They don’t require the intense level of grooming in my experience having a pretty lush one growing up (then again ours undid all cleaning in 5 minutes by running and jumping in a pretty green and brown pond, swimming her heart out then coming back smelling just beautiful… 😂)
Haha one Samoyed was too much so five Golden's instead! That's awesome tho, good on you for taking care of rescues. I take in reptiles and that isn't easy, multiple dogs I can't imagine! 😮
A fun thing to notice is that his left shoulder apparently is quite an itchy spot. He specifically leans into the gust of air and he regularly shakes when the blowdryer hits it. So fun to watch!
He turned out quite cute and the color change was funny. Knew a man who had a Samoyed, a beloved dog. He found that the dog would go out and strip his garden of favorite foods, might have been cucumbers or peas...but the lack of crops was found to be the dog's favorite snacks. Smiled, when you climbed up on the table to be able to trim the feet. Willing to go anywhere to get a job done.
Kudos to the owner for a well behaved dog, to Vanessa for a picture perfect groom, especially that gleaming white coat and to Canuck for having a great personality. That last picture of him with head turned and a twinkle in his eyes was too sweet for words.
My family rescued a Samoyed great Pyrenees years ago, she was the biggest fluffiest sweetest dog ever. She lived till 16. They have the most loyal and protective and loving nature I have ever seen. She used to cuddle up with me, it was like sleeping with a giant fluffy cloud ❤
I agree. Doggos will reflect the personality of their owner. His patience, even when he protested the clipping, was remarkable. He must be a very happy fellah.
The Samoyed is such a noble breed..,his owner has done a wonderful job raising him. For 2 yrs old he behaved so well! I think he started to fuss at the end because he was just tired of it all!😊💕💕 Phenomenal job as always!
For a vocal breed, i sure didn't hear much vocalizing. And Sammys are pure love really. It's probably what living in the clouds would feel like. Watched to the end and still noticed this landcloud was white front half and slight beige cream back half. No amount was baths is going to get all that fun out. He is definitely getting a lot of fun outside.
I had a Samoyed some years ago name King. He was so gentle, loving, rambunctious and beautiful. Every time he would get dropped off from the groomer, a pink bow would be placed in his head like Cindy Lou..RIP King
Man, when the doggos start pulling their feet away while Vanessa is clipping their nails, I always think, "I would be terrified that my hand would slip & I'd hurt them." Vanessa has such wonderful control & patience while working on the doggos' legs & feet. I marvel at her expertise. Canuck is one big, beautiful, white fluff ball. Great job, Vanessa.
I didn't realize you were in Canada lol. But that's a rather quiet Samoyed. Sweet boy. Such a beautiful puff ball. I like how he's determined to help you dry him off. You blow dry and he'll shake
Those handcream brands need to send you free samples and allow you to give your honest opinion and still get payed. That's how you really sell your product and help a creator out. I personally would not mind if you did a brand deal, Vanessa. I think all of your fans know that you're honest and that you definitely deserve some extra cash. You're doing such good work for these dogs so you're allowed to think about yourself too. You deserve it hon. ❤ If you ever decide to do a brand deal, please enjoy it. You're amazing, okay? AND YOUR HANDS DESERVE SOME LOVE!
I'm not a big skin care consumer myself. For computer hardware though, I trust brands that work with channels that do rigorous tests and provide honest opinions. Sponsoring Jay or GN doesn't buy a good review so they must be confident in their product and genuinely care about improving it.
@@meagansefner3215 I would consider buying it because my wrists and knuckles split open every winter and it's painful. I try various lotions but they don't seem to work well.
After long holiday trip I've caught the flu and I'm bedridden since yesterday. Everything hurts and i feel horrible but watching this adorable cloud pupper go back to his original cotton white is good for my heart and soul. I officially feel better !! ❤
I am in the EXACT same situation right now! The most Awful flu I've had everrrr, as of a couple days ago after my flight. First in many years. We got this though! Hang in there. This is all temporary, and staying positive makes a big difference. remember to breathe and relax as much as you can. And hopefully it helps to know someone else is in the same boat.
@@ForAllYarnkindgosh I think that boat is going to be very full! This old day got the flu three weeks ago, still lingering - took my flu shot a few days before, so could've been worse! Hope you are better. Meanwhile "Girl With the Dog".
I got such a vibe of "My shaking won't work well enough? Must you use the air tube of death?" during the blow dry. Canuck was such a good boy and even though he _really_ didn't like his nails done all he did was wiggle and bark. His human clearly puts time and effort into Canuck for him being such a happy, chill, well cared for floof!! Thanks for sharing!
We adopted a big sheepdog from the pound. Mom took it to the vet to get clipped and we got a phonecall, “You have a poodle. A Standard poodle.” We had NO IDEA! He was a great dog.
I'm curious, did you keep it's fur more shaggy like a Sheepdog to keep the appearance that you first fell in love with or did you go for a cut best suited for poodles?
Fun fact: Poodles are water hunting dogs. The locks of their fur enable them to keep warm in cold water. They are also very intelligent (not quite like a Border Collie, but close). So he was far away from dogs with a shepherding instinct.
What a perfect pup. Not a peep or a nip through most of the long ordeal of it all, and so very, very patient and cooperative. Gentle and thorough grooming. ❤
I love when little bups like this one shake off the happy hoodie. I love them in the happy hoodie in general, but I love the process of them being like "freedoooom!" as their ears escape the babushka hat 😌
I had a Sammy mix years and years ago! He never barked, he only howled! I got him his 1st pro groom the beginning of Summer when he was 5. He got so dirty in the Spring, rolling in mud, playing in dirt, digging holes to Australia, etc. The groomer happened to be just a couple blocks from my house, so I would walk him home. Every time I walked him home from his yearly pro groom, at least one person (if not multiple people) would comment on how pretty my puppy was looking. They'd ask how old is he? 7 months? 9 months? He came out so white and fluffy, he really did look like a puppy again!
Samoyed’s were originally bred to herd reindeer for Laplander’s and Finn’s the Samoyed people live in the Arctic and used their dogs as herders for reindeer. Because they were so valuable to their families the dogs lived indoors with their families when not herding and would even share the family bed. So became much more domesticated then other arctic breeds such as Malamutes, Huskies and Siberian Huskies. They are very easy to train and tend to be much more docile then the others and are good with children. They tend to have very pleasant personalities and do basic obedience easily and well! Another fun fact is that their fur is considered to be Angora as long as it is pure white! So their fur is very valuable to weavers as the only other sources for Angora come from Angora rabbits and Angora goats!
What a beautiful dog. He came in bone colored and left with a Snow White Coat. You have such a kind way with every furr baby you share with us. Patience. Thank you sweetie
My brother had a Samoyed years ago. He also had a friend who was a spinner and made many gorgeous knitted items of the yarn she spun. One of her favorite fibers to work with was Samoyed fur because it was so incredibly soft and warm. Whenever I see you groom a Samoyed I get a little sad to see that lovely fiber get tossed...
Really? How cool is that! It has always been my understanding that cat fur lacked the "barbs" that enabled the fibers to grip together to make a strand. I would love a cat wrap! Thanks for sharing that info!@@deirdreevangelista856
He is absolutely gorgeous. I find it very relaxing watching you apply the purple shampoo and then seeing how white their fur turns out. A job well done. You were born to take care of dogs ! You are amazing!
I just found your channel and I normally don’t watch grooming videos but I almost instantly fell for your content. I love your style and no nonsense attitude. Your servants heart is so refreshing in that you help these animals free of charge; some of whom who are in desperate need of your help. Life is all about love, light, and the service of others. In the end, it’s the only stuff we take with us. I instantly subbed so I’ll be watching from here forward. Thnx
Aww, another Samoyed! I just finished watched baby Mayo (somehow I missed that one) and this popped up! I'm hoping that you see this, Vanessa: I have a very strong appreciation for all that do. Take care.
I get the bad hands too (from baking and hand washing). I highly recommend getting some cotton gloves, filling them with aloe gel, and sleeping in them. This method has saved my hands time and again. It also has the advantage of being antimicrobial and reducing the risk of infection. Good luck with your skin.
Try jojoba oil! It's a very nourishing and moisturizing oil, but sadly the ones sold in the market (like Bliss Kiss one) is rather expensive so I usually make my own mixture of jojoba, coconut, and argan with a few drops of essential oils. Just always make sure the jojoba is like 50% of the mixture, ideally 50% jojoba and the rest are the mix of coconut/argan/any oil like grapeseed and olive. You can apply this mixture on your hands and nails, put on gloves and sleep in it! Regular use of this oil changed my hands and nails, I even quitted nail biting shenanigans entirely thanks to this oil mixture! 😅 Edit: I use this oil mixture for my hair too! Twice a week, massaged it on my scalp and hair as a leave on for 30 minutes to 1 hour then shampoo. It makes my hair soft and frizz free!
I'm a retired RN, & was constantly washing my hands which made them dried, cracked, & bloody in the winter time (the air is very dry where I live). I started using Aquaphor as soon as I felt them getting dry, & they no longer cracked & bled. It has lanolin & gylcerin as its active ingredients.
I use udder salve in the same way. If you use household gloves for cleaning or washing dishes you can also rub in a dab or two and wipe off any excess with tissue or paper towel after a couple of minutes before you put the gloves on. It only takes a little, and udder salve is also great to put on that way before you put on winter gloves or mittens to go outside. It's great for elbows and knees, too, and for feet as well with cotton socks 🙂
I love how Kanuk is smiling in his after picture. He’s like “ok. Vanessa. I’ll let you touch my paws next time without grumbling, bc you me made look GOOD!” 😂
Every time I watch one of your videos, it never fails to bring a smile to my face. Although I've never had a dog, I have a deep love for them. I love the passion and the dedication you put while doing your job
I’m always shocked by how good the dogs are with their paws and nails - finally one that reacts like my greyhound does 😂 he’s the same, all bark and no bite, but he makes it VERY known that he does not like it

Just wanted to say thank you so much for being authentic about your products! I’ve learned so much and it has helped me a lot with my fosters. My current foster pup is 95% white and came in to rescue super dirty and stained yellow. To not cause the rescue more expense with his care (he’s had some health issues) I’ve been paying for self washing him at a pet store near by. Since he’s an older guy with some health issues, Im trying to make him look as good as possible. He’s slowly looking more and more white and his coat is becoming so healthy. I’ve been using the products you recommend! I wouldn’t have known what to do without your videos! So thank you!

VERY HUGE KITTY AND SO PRETTY!) anyway, this girl was walking this beautiful Samoyed and he was so sweet. she let me pet him and i felt like i was meeting a celebrity. made my day! lol!
I have met a lovely Samoyed. Gentle but high energy. A dog that really needs the exercise. I owned a Husky from 8 weeks to end of life 11 years on. Yes the will sing the songs of their people & they are happy to share their opinion on what is being asked of them. I love your channels.
I watched your video with the Newfoundland, I watch videos but don't normally subscribe. When you said you give your services for free, you earned a subscriber from me, and yes your channel is the only one I subscribe to. You do a wonderful job with these babies and I hope you can continue with your work for free for them. Thank you for being caring and understanding to their nature and their natural fears and that you've taken the time to understand their "language" . I am an animal lover and it makes my heart happy to see someone care so much.
The way he stay quiet and still through the whole process, impressive, only the occasional shake, but his behavior was pristine. Maybe the goddest boy that ever graced this channel? I love the samoyed, a shame they are so expensive
I loved your response/logic for the table against the wall for larger dogs. You are 100% for the safety and comfort of the dog, even at the expense of something that could be inconvenient for you. It sounds obvious when writing it out, but, you know...some would still prioritize the latter, unfortunately.
My favorite dog ever. I miss having one, more than I can say. I'm in an apartment and just don't feel that it is enough room. I laughed when he shook. How I remember the baths! I usually was as wet as our dogs. This one looked so much like our Nicholas. I may have cried. Thank you for sharing

When I was a child we had new neighbors and they had a Samoyed named Ting. He was the cutest and the first I had ever seen. He always greeted me when I walked by. We had Sheppard's. We now have a Sheppard Husky mix and she is the love of our family's life, the first dog our family has had. Can't imagine life without Mia. Keep doing what you're doing love watching.
This literally looks exactly like our office/therapy dog where I work! She is the sweetest, she’s around 9 years old but still acts like a puppy lol I can confirm she is vocal because she gets upset when people leave the office 😂
I adore all the long videos, and the short ones on the other channel! I'm two months out from finishing school for dog grooming, and it was your channels that got me into the career choice. It does make me curious just how long some of these grooms, especially the baths and dries, take! Because boy oh boy do some of my baths take a while lol!
Thank you so much for not doing random brand deals I hate it when people do no hate to people who do and if you have to someday that is fine but for now thank you and I love that when you talk about you things it's not a complete stop to what you are doing it all related THANK YOU ❤❤❤❤
Sammys are AMAZING. My Laika was the sweetest, most outspoken (but not barky), best Harley biker chick ever. They are truly the best all around breed. Their coat is mostly self cleaning. I bathed mine only when needed (twice a year, spot cleaned more) and brushed every few weeks. She didn't shed between molts and mud and dirt mostly brushed out quick. They are wonderful companions, very smart, tough as nails (she trained Akita rescues on the side 😊), sweet as can be and intuitive to boot. She would also hop thru the yard every time she saw a cricket. 😂
Nice and white just in time for the snow! It finally looks like winter here in Canada. What a nice dog. He really only used his voice sparingly to speak indicate his great displeasure at your actions.

Remember the expression
"3 dog night"? Australian expression meaning the coldest of nights!
And he looks like the fluffiest of blankets.😅
aside from your bizarre insinuations, Samoyeds are not Inuit dogs; they're eastern Siberian dogs, bred for 7000 years by the Nenet people@@Witchhouseexotic
@@Witchhouseexoticthat ruined my smile so fast... But it might be true who knows 🤷♂️
that was not a dog, that was a land cloud
@JuggoJuggo
Omg so you mean to tell me that not only do they look like a big fluffy pillow, but that's literally what they were bred to be in the first place.. I love that so much.
Vanessa has more control over those clippers than I have over my entire life
amen to that amen.
OMG. THE TRUTH!!!! 😂😅😂

So cool!
Wow! I would love to see that
Very Interesting!
11! Is she a musher?
Samoyed fur was actually designed that way. They were bred originally for several purposes....as a livestock (reindeer) and human guardian, as a companion animal....they were bred to literally lay across their humans to comfort them and keep them warm, and their fluffy soft hypoallergenic fur was not only designed to be comfortable to cuddle as the dog lays on you, but native tribes where Samoyeds originated actually harvested their fur to make blankets, socks, and clothing as well.
THE dog subtly nodding along as you explain why your table is against a wall IS SO FLUFFING ADORABLEEE. Canuck is an absolute gem of a dog
Wow, he is one of the top 5 well-behaved dogs that you have groomed. What a little gem he is. And quite the stunning beauty as well.
What a well behaved dog. Even when clearly unhappy about the nail trim he hardly put up a fight or commotion. Clearly all the running with his owner he gets plenty of socialization and it shows. He looks great after the groom, well done as always.
in my experience Samoyeds are quite obedient and behave really well in most situations.
@@fuzzywzhe They are like cats in dog's clothing in terms of their character :D
@@mimuiao Umm, I'd almost agree with you, but they are certainly better than cats in my opinion. But yes, they are kind of cat-like in their personality.
Me: "Hey, let's cuddle!" Samoyed: "NO!"
Well, end of conversation.
Well, mine had training so i guess it's that@@fuzzywzhe
This pretty boy has to be the quietest Sammie I've never heard. Wonderful groom and results!
So true 😆
Don't forget that even though a Samoyed is a great running partner this only applies when it is cold enough. In warmer areas keep an eye out for excessive panting and try to focus on cooler times of the day. (There is pretty much no temperature that is too cold for a Samoyed.)
My sister has two. Fortunately she lives in Northern Canada.
My dog was a good swimmer in the summer. We just had to blow dry him very well in between swims.
Think about foot protection too if it's hot.
Amen
Rescuing dogs from puppy mills is such a noble thing to do and im glad those five goldies found a loving home with you!!
Surely 5 golden retrievers = 1 samoyed? I mean by the time you've groomed 5 GRs you could have groomed 1 samoyed 😂😂😂💕
Have been owning samoyed now for four years. Taking care of their fur/coat is not that big of a deal. They are highly energetic though 😄
“Please don’t bite my bum, that would be unfortunate.” 😂😂😂 I just love Vanessa’s dry humor ❤
A fun thing to notice is that his left shoulder apparently is quite an itchy spot. He specifically leans into the gust of air and he regularly shakes when the blowdryer hits it. So fun to watch!
"Please don't bite my bum, that'd be unfortunate" cracked me up!!! Love these videos so much!!!
Glamour shot for sure!!
GP is such a sweet breed too.
Now I have nap envy.
What a beautiful and incredibly well-behaved, handsome young man. A+ specimen of his breed. Kudos to the owner.
I agree. Doggos will reflect the personality of their owner. His patience, even when he protested the clipping, was remarkable. He must be a very happy fellah.
Thank you 🙂🙂
The Samoyed is such a noble breed..,his owner has done a wonderful job raising him.
Those are known as "biscuit markings" a cream colored tone and are acceptable in the breed definition AKC.
What a surprisingly quiet and well behaved cloud. Little sweetheart.
I had a Samoyed some years ago name King. He was so gentle, loving, rambunctious and beautiful. Every time he would get dropped off from the groomer, a pink bow would be placed in his head like Cindy Lou..RIP King
That is freaking adorable🥹🎀🐶🐕🐾🥰
RIP King 😔🎀
Man, when the doggos start pulling their feet away while Vanessa is clipping their nails, I always think, "I would be terrified that my hand would slip & I'd hurt them." Vanessa has such wonderful control & patience while working on the doggos' legs & feet. I marvel at her expertise.
Canuck is one big, beautiful, white fluff ball. Great job, Vanessa.
I was thinking the same thing. She is quick and precise and with all the wiggling.
I didn't realize you were in Canada lol. But that's a rather quiet Samoyed. Sweet boy. Such a beautiful puff ball. I like how he's determined to help you dry him off. You blow dry and he'll shake
This is the best behaved dog I've ever seen you groom. He was an absolute doll baby!
Kanook was so good for this groom! And judging from his tail, he felt quite at ease even if the Woman With the Hose wouldn’t stop touching his paws.
"Woman With the Hose"
Sounds dangerous
Those handcream brands need to send you free samples and allow you to give your honest opinion and still get payed. That's how you really sell your product and help a creator out.
I personally would not mind if you did a brand deal, Vanessa. I think all of your fans know that you're honest and that you definitely deserve some extra cash.
You're doing such good work for these dogs so you're allowed to think about yourself too. You deserve it hon. ❤
If you ever decide to do a brand deal, please enjoy it. You're amazing, okay?

If Vanessa endorsed a hand cream, I would never stop buying it... What a solid test!
@@meagansefner3215 I agree 100%!

When she praised the dog a good boy and gave it an A+, I'm so happy 😭😭😭
❤❤❤
I got such a vibe of "My shaking won't work well enough? Must you use the air tube of death?" during the blow dry. Canuck was such a good boy and even though he _really_ didn't like his nails done all he did was wiggle and bark. His human clearly puts time and effort into Canuck for him being such a happy, chill, well cared for floof!! Thanks for sharing!
His transformation was like watching a commercial for teeth whitening! 😂. Now he practically glows ❤
We adopted a big sheepdog from the pound. Mom took it to the vet to get clipped and we got a phonecall, “You have a poodle. A Standard poodle.” We had NO IDEA! He was a great dog.
That would be hilarious to see.
Wow!
What a handsome doggo
I wonder if this majestic fellow even knows the song of his people? So patient and only mild singing with the pawsies. ❤❤❤
What a good boy he is ♡ Also maybe the most quiet Samoyed I've seen on the channel 😂
Just with his feet!
So their fur is very valuable to weavers as the only other sources for Angora come from Angora rabbits and Angora goats!
what finns..? these dogs are from Siberia, bred by Nenets people
Thank you for the info! I didn’t know all this and appreciate the history lesson!!!!
WRONG. Angora goats produce _mohair,_ NOT angora.
@@Sine-gl9ly I apologize if I got that wrong. I did not know that angora is mohair.
@@estenray5385 The names are indeed confusing and it's only because I am both a fibre artist by hobby, and a former goat farmer, that I know this.

I was like “He’s not THAT bad” until I saw how gray he was in comparison to the soap! :)
Many years ago a friend kept all the hair from grooming her sami over its lifetime then made a beautiful sweater. Talk about patience!
A beautiful way to keep her dog with her forever ❤
My brother had a Samoyed years ago. He also had a friend who was a spinner and made many gorgeous knitted items of the yarn she spun. One of her favorite fibers to work with was Samoyed fur because it was so incredibly soft and warm. Whenever I see you groom a Samoyed I get a little sad to see that lovely fiber get tossed...
I never knew you could do that wirt dog fiber
Its done with cat hair also! Long haired cats of course...
@@deirdreevangelista856 on my sphynx cat it will not work :D

Aww, another Samoyed! I just finished watched baby Mayo (somehow I missed that one) and this popped up! I'm hoping that you see this, Vanessa: I have a very strong appreciation for all that do. Take care.
That boy was so unbothered he was almost falling asleep a couple of times there. What a great personality.
Edit: I use this oil mixture for my hair too!
Oh thank you!!!
Working Hands works well too.
I love how Kanuk is smiling in his after picture. He’s like “ok. Vanessa. I’ll let you touch my paws next time without grumbling, bc you me made look GOOD!”

I loved your response/logic for the table against the wall for larger dogs. You are 100% for the safety and comfort of the dog, even at the expense of something that could be inconvenient for you. It sounds obvious when writing it out, but, you know...some would still prioritize the latter, unfortunately.
I’m sure it must make the dogs feel more secure too
My favorite dog ever. I miss having one, more than I can say. I'm in an apartment and just don't feel that it is enough room. I laughed when he shook. How I remember the baths! I usually was as wet as our dogs. This one looked so much like our Nicholas. I may have cried. Thank you for sharing
