Great video. I was having a hard time inflating the egg to a perfect circle. I figured out that when you bring both halves back, you can pinch them foward THEN wrap the thread to finish.
And 4 years later I found this amazing video, had to give it a try. But I didn't have any antron yarn... What I did? I dug into my wife's yarn bag and separated the fibers carefully, in 15 minutes got enough supply to do 6 of these eggs in different colors. Can't wait to try which one works best.

Works very well on the fresh run steelheads in the Tongariro River in New Zealand so it should work on the smaller ones in Oregon!

This video was recommended to me this morning where at the Little Lehigh, the guy fishing with this egg was catching one trout every 4 minutes.

I added about 3 wraps of lead wire before the blood dot. It makes the blood dot a bit bigger but sinks like a stone.
can this be made with mcfly foam?

A large brown with sharp teeth will scramble one of these eggs pretty good, but I'm OK with that.
