Good to see the Great Lakes tributaries being so productive. When I left the area in the mid 1970’s they said the Lakes were dying due to pollution and subsequent algae blooms. Improvements in environmental policies really helped the lakes and rivers to become world-class fisheries.

they do change from season to season but overall the fishing is still great

Unfortunately the pollution is coming back. The biggest issue is phosphates again. In the 1970's it was laundry detergent, now it's farming. They have done some things to abate if but Lake Erie especially is getting very large algae blooms again. It's really a shame.

@@johnnylightning1491hosphates from ag are the main pollutants now over in the driftless streams too. V sad to see. Can’t even refill a water filter out there

Mr. Blood cuts the river up like a surgeon. It would be an honor to fish with Dr. Blood!

Nice video but I would have liked a little more detail on the eggs. How to use them as far as depth and drifting and when to use them like types of water. Thank you

What about that bright pink indicator? Kind of left that part out when breaking down your rig huh? Jesus Christ I was excited to try dropping a streamer under an egg pattern but I’m not sure if I use an indicator or not. Thanks.

    What you tie eggs with

Jeff is using regular antron material for his egg patterns but we really like the material known as "McFly Foam" to tie those blood dot patterns

Tell me, why does almost anyone in the states use these bulky indicators or bobbers?
FlyFishing is so much closer to its origin, elegance and fluidity without any, to me .
Tight lines, feel the take, thats it.

    Great video,
    Slightly disappointed though.....
In the "set up" portion of the vid it was never mentioned the type of rod, reel or the X rating of the leader or the tippett use level line or not.
    Other than that,
    AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!

Good point, the second video in the series should hopefully give you more information. We usually use 10 foot 7 weights for the steelhead. Thanks for feedback

These shows...lol I swear...you're supposed to be teaching us fishing and yet the camera is almost *SOLELY* fixed on the two guys!
    LOL
I KNOW what a man in waders looks like...show us the cast, the river, the take down, etc...
I watched one a few days ago and I swear, the camera was pointed MORE at the guys hat saying "Bill Spicer" than anything else! lol FFS

they are actually using a 3 weight nymphing rod and it is about the same size of a standard 8 weight a true 3 weight is built for very small trout and pan fish !!!!

these non Ocean going steelhead do not fight or have the vitality that the west coast and Pacific Northwest Steelhead have the real steelhead fight much harder and are just a better all around fish , your over weight rainbow trout you are pretending they are real steelhead is just a fairy tale !! Just fat trout not steelhead eh !!!!!
