MAKE SURE THE POWER IS OFF

Yup as said, make sure it's the pressure switch by jumping the two lead together on the pressure switch... turn power on and it should be heating... replace or adjust the pressure switch screw...
The pressure screw in mine wouldn't budge... so gotta replace the switch.
Thanks for confirming and giving the good advice.. !

Thank you for the video post. Helpful to know the amount of pipe thread and the importance of covering the circuit board as water does spray everywhere.

Hey great video, can I replace a pressure switch on a balboa heater . It is only a tiny black box. Will a different switch work

Is your hot tub a hot springs? That's the only tub I know that has a square switch.

was looking for instructions on how to adjust the new switch, I thinking turn the pump on and twist the adjuster until i have continuity across the poles of the switch then turn the pump off to make sure continuity is lost when pomp is off.

My switch transition wasn't as smooth as your and I soaked my board. I blew it out with compressed, sprayed everything down with a circuit board cleaner, let it sit, blew it out again, then let the sun heat it up for a few hours. I should be okay to put power back to it, right?

@@VIPPoolsandSpas well I flipped it on and the flashing three dots are gone but now I've got a 32 error. Also, unrelated and probably strange question, do you have any idea why my water fall would be spitting out fiberglass mesh tape?

@@tintshady2049 never seen a 32 error code before. What spa pack do you have? As for what's coming out of the water fall. I have no idea. Did you drain it for awhile and then refill? Or was your water fall off for a long time?

Hi, i replaced my pressure switch but still get an alarm when the pump is in Low speed. go to high speed and its fine. adjusting the screw in the top in or out has not affect. i screwed it in only hand tight, is it possible that i just didnt go far enough into the chamber? i was afraid of snapping it off, which is what happened when i removed the old on..

Heat up a slotted screw driver, push down in the center and melt it, then turn it out. Before turning it, let it cool.

We replaced the pressure switch on a Gecko. We went to turn the breaker on and now the breaker is tripping. What would the cause be? Nothing will run.

    • @VIPPoolsandSpas

Pressure switch is low voltage. It wouldn't trip a breaker. Did water get on the board?

I thought I would put a flat plastic sheet behind the heater, in front of the board, and curve the top away to deflect water away from the board. I might enlist an extra set of hands to do that.

@@VIPPoolsandSpas Its a Gecko S-Class, and after looking at it again, I think that might not be the best way. Its on a 2005 Morgan Malibu. I don't think the switch has ever been changed. I'm inclined to change the heater while I'm screwing with it. If it lasts another 16 years I'll be 71, and not inclined to mess with it anymore.

@@VIPPoolsandSpas Its blinking three dots. The temp display is flashing too. When I bump up the temp, the heater light turns on for about ten seconds, then goes off. Its keeping the water about 93 degrees.

    • @VIPPoolsandSpas
      @VIPPoolsandSpas  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@traumajock the blinking light or 3 dots would be the pressure switch. Turn power off, take the 2 leads off the pressure switch and jump a wire across. Turn power back on. The dots should be gone and should have volts at the element. If not, it's a board issue.
