Thanks for the great video. I've found on working on my exact hot tub the most difficult part of any repair is getting those @$%%$@@$ cover panels off and back on. It's a nice tub but those panels were designed by a madman! Whenever I replace the panels I reinstall fewer and fewer screws. Duct tape to the rescue!!!

My electric bill is between $70-80 more each month since getting the spa. Everyone I talked to said it should be between $20-30. I have noticed the spa comes on more than twice a day. Is there something I can check or change to minimize that? It is a 2019 Caldera spa (2 pumps) and both pumps are set to 30 mins each. I'm in AZ so it doesn't get very cold. I set it to 102 on the weekends and back to 84 during the week.
The cost of electricity can vary depending on where you’re at and how your hot tub is set up. For instance 220 V is more efficient than 110 V. You can also check your filtration cycles. It’s more efficient for the hot tub to maintain a temperature rather than to keep turning it down and back up again perhaps that’s part of the problem.
You have probably received your new switch already, but bypassing it is typically only used for testing purposes, you might receive other error codes with the bypassed.

Woah that disconnect is so close to the tub.. 5' minimum! Also, why not just disconnect the switch from the harness, and read continuity when the pump is on then off? Seems much simpler. Measuring continuity with a powered circuit will fool your meter. Thanks for the post. As a side note, I bought a new $60 switch, and turned it in by hand, and the damn thing just snapped off in the hole. I ended up buying a plastic compression to 1/8NPT fitting, and modifying it to accept the busted switch, then JB welded the whole thing together. Turned it in with very little force, it seems to be holding.
A voltage test at the jet pump terminal should tell you which is bad. First determine if the pump is suppose to be receiving 110vac or 240vac. If your spa is a Rhythm or Relay like in the video then it should be getting 240v. Turn on the pump and and test voltage at the black and white wires. If there’s no voltage or anything less than 220 then the board is bad but if you’re getting the correct voltage but the pump isn’t turning on the it’s probably the pump.
Hello, My Spa hot spot SX does not heat above 33 degrees. The screen shows a double line of hyphens but everything else works. At speed 2 it shows the degrees again and the dashes disappear. According to the instructions, the pressure switch is open instead of closed. The filter is not blocked, but the problem remains the same, even without the filter. I switched it off and on again a few minutes later but the problem is still there. Do you think it's the pressure switch that's faulty? This doesn’t sound like a programming issue, it sounds more like a circuit board malfunction. A relay on the circuit board is sending power to both the high speed and the low speed of the pump. I would recommend temporarily disconnecting the high speed wire from the board until you can get the circuit board replaced.
@@peteworle it was the row of single dashed lines, with the flashing POWER symbol. None of the buttons would work. But, for some reason, the error disappeared after some time and the hot tub is working fine now and has been for the last 3 days. I'm very grateful for your very clear video. This was a straight forward repair and saved me a lot in repairs.
The single row of dashes is a sensor issue. There are 2 sensors for temperature, one in the tub testing the water temperature and one on the heater manifold testing for hi-limit or if the water in the heater is getting too hot. If there is too much of a resistance between the two sensors than the row of single dashes will appear.
Jumping the pressure switch is only a temporary fix to confirm that it’s not working. If that is the problem you have to replace the pressure switch, if then we will move on to the next test. I will need to know exactly what the spa is doing, and what is showing up on the topside.

how do you test if the board is bad or if the heating jet pump is bad after installing a new pressure switch
A voltage test at the jet pump terminal should tell you which is bad. First determine if the pump is suppose to be receiving 110vac or 240vac. Yes it will. The pressure switch is there to ensure there is flow through the heater before it will let it energize.

Yes that is still a pressure switch issue. The error for the pressure switch being closed when it should be open is * ====

Service tech here. How do we go about reprogramming the board to allow jet/pump 2 to run. On our 3rd press I just hear a loud humming sound.
