There are so many helpful reminders in this video.. If I had to pick one video for someone to watch on bikes, this would probably be it..

Thanks so much for the cable install follow up. Very informative and much needed for us bicycle amateurs. Really like the derailleur adjustment info also. Thank you.

Excellent and very informative video. Thank you very much for explaining things so well. I have that same 7 speed handlebar shifter on my bike. I have a lot of trouble getting gears 2-6 to index correctly and the red "needle?" doesn't line up well with the numbers. Are there any internal adjustments you can make to those controllers? I have fought and fought with this and all I can figure is that the shifter isn't indexing the cable properly. Thanks for any thoughts you might have on this.

    Sir,
I have Shimano tourney st-ef40 gear shifter and my right side gear shifter (front gear 1234567) is not working.
I am very confused what should do, I can't afford new one.
Please tell me can it be repaired easily or please suggest me any other way...
    Please sir it's urgent...

This is a ridiculously helpful video for someone like me who is just starting to go beyond basic cable replacement for cycling, don't get me wrong, but please close the aperture on your camera a little. I'd rather see a little grain due to a bumped ISO than have an unusably small depth of field for a tutorial like this. I didn't actually know the bit at 16:00 about the pinch thing because mine appears to have been built incorrectly at some point and I've always just assumed that the guy who built it knew what they were doing.
Also I always forget that Americans have thier brakes on the wrong way around, so I keep thinking you're reaching for the wrong brake whenever we can see the handlebars in the background. I'm a dumbass.
