Hey admiral, 1st commander of battleship squadron 12 here, I have a request. Since you have made a Essex class aircraft carrier, is it possible for you to construct the Japanese aircraft carrier kaga or the shinano or the taiho? If you don’t want to, I’ll be fine with it,I mean like this request is quite a bit too much for ya, i don’t expect a reply to this anyway so :/
@@localNPCboy I'm not really good at building capital ships and I mostly specialize in American cruisers but I do know some people that are really good at this kind of stuff and I can point you to them if you want.
You only need one or two catapults since the planes will move to the catapult to be launched. Having more only effects the speed you can launch them at. Also, copying a plane with middle mouse also copies its load out. It can be easier to spam-copy planes rather than using the menu. There's also some weird stuff with catapults and angles but I'm still experimenting with an aircraft carrier I'm building...
I think if you hold tab, it automatically returns you to the ship. Also, you can stack significantly more planes than you have catapults. Fill that hangar with Kingfishers, and you could probably send out a strike package of 50-60 little floatplane. Of course, at that point, the game lags quite a bit in RTS mode from all the plane icons lol
There's an old ios game I loved to death called "Battleship Craft" then its successor "Naval Craft." Great games but tryhards kept making huge platforms covered with 46 cm triple turrets. The games needed a "seaworthiness" control or "buoyancy" control to check these stupid designs, but even then the game was fun.
1:15 by pttuing aircraft in the hanger you can use more aircraft also for astetics you can move the catapaults downwards on the y cord and it wont affect the take off, also when you have the catapault selected you can adjust the take off angle of the catapault, for example if it is set to 0 the catapaults wont turn around 6:37 you can get those planes with a unlock mod, however you can get them to take off but they cant do anything else
fun fact you can put planes almost anywhere on the ship without having to match the number of catapults, you can put a ton of planes inside the ship's "hangar" and they will magically appear above deck on a catapult as soon as one becomes available.
on the fence about getting this game. i have simpleplanes and CC2 and want to get UA dreadnaughts when i comes out and the price and options this game offers is amazing from the looks so far. your videos probably will help me over the fence.
Loved the video @Stealth17 Gaming! Can't wait for when the Aircraft selections are flushed out further and Aircraft carrier mechanics are worked out as well! How well would the "Floatplane Essex" fare out in a Battle, say with a Cleveland, an Atlanta, and 2 Fletchers alongside her against a Scharnhorst, an Atlanta and 3 Fletchers.
I just discovered at the moment that you can actually set the flight angle by pressing the module button above and then editing the angle of take off. Damn, I am so happy
You can put a catapult inside the ship and they still work also the planes don’t need to be on the catapult to take off they move to the catapult when ordered to takeoff
You don't have to have the plane on a catapult they could be on the opposite side of the ship to the catterpolt and still launch they will automatically launch
For those in the audience that don't know the US hull classification system's oddities, CV(N), with the N in parentheses, signifies *night operation* capabilities, as this was before Nuclear careers were an admirals wet dream. There was also not an Essex class Enterprise, just the Yorktown class, then the CVN-65 Enterprise. Somewhat strangely, the navy hull classification used CVA for attack CVs, so you'll occasionally see CVA(N) for CV-6, and CVA-65 as it was briefly referred to as CVA-65, then CVAN-65, before retroactively settling on CVN-65. When you're the first of your kind, the naming system is a mess. I encourage, cautiously, a dive into the Wikipedia article and related sources for the hull classification system, as it's very interesting. You can start reading and all of a sudden it's 5 hours later. Small teaser, just from the CV section: "CVS: Antisubmarine aircraft carrier (retired) CVT: Aircraft carrier, training (changed to AVT (auxiliary)) CVU: Aircraft carrier, utility (retired) CVG: Aircraft carrier, guided missile (retired) CVV: Aircraft carrier, vari-purpose, medium (retired unused)" Guided missile aircraft carriers, because why not? I mean we basically have those anyway, the guided missiles are just a tad smaller and are mounted on aircraft launched from the CV. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull_classification_symbol Go nuts, but set an alarm.
can you look at the sovetsky soyuz? i only recently just reuploaded it to the workshop after the game removing it from the steam workshop for some reasons this past year. although the ship itself is already a few years old from when i first finished and uploaded it and the game has gotten numerous updates since then but it still works fine!
I'm having difficulties making my largest battleship any faster I have 8 5 blade propellers and a ton of Bismarck funnels on a battleship of an original design at over 600 meters do you have any ideas or advice on how I can increase the speed my ships current speed is only up to a punt 8 knots
I regret buying this game. I have way more fun with From the Depths. NavalArt just doesn't do anything for me even with the potential. If Ultimate Admiral was cheaper, I would have gotten that instead also.
A rare editing error on my part made it into the video at 13:10. Please disregard that section as I have in the video twice.
Concerning your question at 22:00 - Jumping to flagship > hold TAB.
Okay, so I'm not going insane. Okay, well I am, but not in this regard.
At First I Was Like, Am I Going Insane Or What?
I'm quite glad you're liking my Essex! Really like the NavalArt video!

so some essex class was turned into helicopter carriers post war ships like the uss hornet
Technically you just converted the Essex into a Guided Missile Battleship. And thats sick.

So, fun fact, IRL those catapults used big charges of black powder to launch the floatplanes.
Yep, it was powered by 5” shells, the RN at the start of ww2 used steam catapults

By the way stealth, I feel like if you really tried, you could build an aircraft carrier of similar quality.
Thank you for the vote of confidence :)
@@Stealth17Gaming No problem man, glad to see you playin this game though, can't wait until actual carriers come out.

im also thinking about stormworks. i might get it with the weapon DLC when it releases.
I would recommend stormworks, has a great atmosphere and world to explore while also having one of the simplest but hardest to master building system
Also one of the best weather simulation
I too would suggest stormworks
Could naval art be the ocean going counterpart of sprocket?
Sprocket is the land going counterpart of navalart as navalart released earlier

Hey, my idea again? (Us super bb with towers and funnels at the front, and guns and torps on the rest of the ship.)
Extra Points for using a French Hull
Can you make a bb and have it defend fight the fighter waves?
What the hecc are those turrets on Kirov?
you only need one catapult for all the planes.

how did you get the tool tip to be shown like that. (bot left)
How do you download ships from the workshop?
what about turning the catapults to port and launch the planes as a whole broadside of planes?
Talk about a full broadside. Fire your port launchers while facing starport....YES!
Can you make a twin-hull battleship in this game? Like one of those in Warship Gunner 2 PS2 game
Yes you can
